I stared at my phone. The hunt was over. My pack had taken the championship.
I screamed so loud my wolf howled with me. Thorne groaned. My mum grumbled. This was the final match of the season, and my pack had beaten them all.
"Pull over," I ordered the driver behind the wheel. He glanced back at my mother. She groaned in frustration.
"That boy will be your ruin. I do not approve of him. I told you a million times already," Mom complained. I planted a quick kiss on her temple and did the same with Thorne .
"Bye Dad," I greeted him. Then I got out of the car and hailed a taxi right away. I had told Kelavra I needed a break. I said I was going on a pack seminar with my mother because she practically begged.
Alpha Thorne felt it was a good weekend to bond. But we won. I knew Kelavra would be at the party thrown at the pack hotel tonight. He would probably be high as a kite. But I could not just leave him hanging. I would surprise him. He would not expect me to come anyway.
After Silas had been sent off to some shady rehab pack his father would not speak of, I had spent weeks falling sick and being gloomy. My wolf would not stop whimpering. It was my fault. I confided in Kelavra. He was the only wolf I had. He explained that I did what was best for Silas.
Four months after that, Kelavra and I began a relationship. And damn. He was everything. Sweet. Romantic. We were basically the pack's couple. After everything with Silas, his father claimed he needed a while to stay with his mother and stuff. No one questioned an Alpha King's words. Kelavra's older brother, Killian, became captain of the pack hunt team. Kelavra became next in line. He gained fame in time. I became popular. I was top of my pack classes. I worked on my style. I shed the old shy wolf thing. It did not take long for me to climb the pack ranks. I finally belonged.
"Miss?" the taxi driver called. He pulled over. I smiled. I paid my bill. I headed toward the pack hotel grounds. I could already hear the blaring music as I made my way to the suite. I punched in the code. The door clicked unlocked. I pushed it open. Loud noise hit me right away. The lights were dim. Wolves were dancing, hugging, kissing, grinding like they typically should.
"Sera!" Killian called out right away. Our eyes locked. My smile widened. Only… he looked pale. Killian always found me. We were pack friends. I had been close to his brother. He was my stepbrother's best friend. So we clicked fast.
"Now love, tell me why you are not drunk off your senses yet. And any idea where your brother is?" I asked. I threw my arms around Killian's neck like we often did. Flirting. Being playful. No one batted an eye at it. I was in love with his brother. Killian was simply the type to flirt with every wolf anyway.
"You… no… I do not know where he is. Why are you here? Should you not be at the pack seminar?" Killian asked. But no matter how hard he tried to keep his mask in place, he kept slipping. He looked anxious. His gold eyes would not stay on mine for long. I sensed the shift in his tone. My wolf picked up on it too.
"Where is Kelavra?" I asked again. My breath hitched. I pushed deeper into the party. Killian's hand clung to mine. He stopped me. His lips almost brushed my ear.
"You should not be here. Please go home, Sera Please," Killian pleaded.
I yanked my grip free. I stormed toward the rooms. I had been here before during the hunts to bait Kelavra. I knew his room. I moved with Killian hot on my heels. The door was locked. But of course I knew the code. I typed it in. The door clicked open. Time stilled.
My heart sank. Kelavra was laid in bed. A she-wolf was on top of him. His cock was glistening. The tip nudged her cunt. His hand was on her waist. Her breasts hung over his chest. A wave of shame overwhelmed me. Then it morphed into anger and pain. My claws extended. My wolf snarled.
"We are done," I said. Then I slammed the door shut.
My eyes locked with Killian. He said nothing. He looked guilty. I turned on my feet. The party seemed to have suddenly died down. Every wolf's eyes were on me. Tears formed in my eyes.
“Seraphina!" Kelavra's voice called after me.
I ran. I could hear him running after me. But I ignored his words. I kept going as fast as I could. Tears spilled freely down my face. My wolf whimpered inside me.
"Give her space. Let her breathe. We will talk after," Killian said. Anger was laced through his voice.
I shut the door to their suite. I stood right by the road. My breath hitched. Tears were still pouring. I was embarrassed. I loved him. He shattered me.
I staggered toward the stairs. I wanted to be alone. I cried my heart out. Spit ran from the side of my lips. My phone buzzed continuously. How long had he been with that she-wolf? Other she-wolves? Had we ever been real? Did every wolf in the pack know? I could not breathe. It hurt. Was this how heartbreak felt? If I could, I would claw out my own heart.
I would do anything to make it stop. I needed to make it stop.
Footsteps came closer in haste. They cut my thought short.
"Seraphina? Sera?… thank the moon, here you are." Killian rushed forward. He trembled as he reached for my hands.
"I know you want to be alone. But you need to come with me now. It is Silas. He is here. He will murder my brother if you do not come now," Killian pleaded.
I could hear the desperation in his voice. I stood frozen. All I could hear was the name. Silas. He was back? Here? How? Why? My wolf perked up. She remembered his scent. She remembered his growl.
Killian pushed the door open. The party had gone silent. That made it easy to spot them.
Silas had his back to me. His fists were bunched over Kelavra. Kelavra's face was bruised and bloodied. His fangs were chipped. His nose was broken. My heart raced faster and harder in my chest. My inner wolf did not know whether to run or stay.
"You hurt her, Kelavra. I warned you. And now I will break every one of your bones," Silas spat. His voice was low and cold. His claws were out. His gold eyes glowed in the dark. "One for each eyes that witnessed her cry tonight.”

SERAPHINA HE obviously does not love my mother, to Alpha Thorne she was a perfect mate… a Luna to lead. A strong mate. And I? Was nothing but collateral fucking damage."She is in safe hands, Dad. I will have her checked into all her classes. SERAPHINA is in very good hands," Silas spoke, smiling wider. His golden retriever mask was pulled on for our parents to see."Thank you, Silas. I just had to be certain you had her back. So kids, there will be no honeymoon. There is a pack meeting for Thorne and me tonight. We might be home late or take up a hotel," Mom explained. She ran her fingers through my hair with a smile. She loved me. But I could not stomach what she had done to me."Bye, Thorne," I greeted. He hummed a goodbye with a sincere smile. I shut the door. I could hear other voices and Silas opening a door as well. Soft footsteps pattered behind me. I refused breakfast because, moon help me, I was already damned before I sat a few inches away from a wolf who had dug a silver
SERAPHINAPrayers are very dangerous things, I learned that the night my mother got mated to the alpha king. I had spent years begging the moon goddess for a brother. When Silas Thorne walked into my life, I started begging to take back my wish.My fingers trembled around the bouquet of wildflowers I held on my mother's behalf as we all smiled into the camera. My inner wolf paced beneath my skin, fear and panic thrumming through our bond. I glanced sideways…he wasn't there. Gone as soon as the picture was taken. I dragged out a loud huff of air, relieved that I could finally calm my racing heart."The ceremony's over, this is the last picture. I need to shift and run, Ma," I whispered against my mother's ear. There were still a few pack guests lingering around, but that wasn't my main problem. I needed to get safe in my room before that grinning devil came back around.Mom gave me a slow nudge, whispered a few words of thanks. Her mate, Alpha Thorne, seemed way too busy with the visi
