LOGINSERAPHINA
2 years later
I stared at my phone. The hunt was over. My pack had taken the championship.
I screamed so loud my wolf howled with me. Thorne groaned. My mum grumbled. This was the final match of the season, and my pack had beaten them all.
"Pull over," I ordered the driver behind the wheel. He glanced back at my mother. She groaned in frustration.
"That boy will be your ruin. I do not approve of him. I told you a million times already," Mom complained. I planted a quick kiss on her temple and did the same with Thorne .
"Bye Dad," I greeted him. Then I got out of the car and hailed a taxi right away. I had told Kelavra I needed a break. I said I was going on a pack seminar with my mother because she practically begged.
Alpha Thorne felt it was a good weekend to bond. But we won. I knew Kelavra would be at the party thrown at the pack hotel tonight. He would probably be high as a kite. But I could not just leave him hanging. I would surprise him. He would not expect me to come anyway.
After Silas had been sent off to some shady rehab pack his father would not speak of, I had spent weeks falling sick and being gloomy. My wolf would not stop whimpering. It was my fault. I confided in Kelavra. He was the only wolf I had. He explained that I did what was best for Silas.
Four months after that, Kelavra and I began a relationship. And damn. He was everything. Sweet. Romantic. We were basically the pack's couple. After everything with Silas, his father claimed he needed a while to stay with his mother and stuff. No one questioned an Alpha King's words. Kelavra's older brother, Killian, became captain of the pack hunt team. Kelavra became next in line. He gained fame in time. I became popular. I was top of my pack classes. I worked on my style. I shed the old shy wolf thing. It did not take long for me to climb the pack ranks. I finally belonged.
"Miss?" the taxi driver called. He pulled over. I smiled. I paid my bill. I headed toward the pack hotel grounds. I could already hear the blaring music as I made my way to the suite. I punched in the code. The door clicked unlocked. I pushed it open. Loud noise hit me right away. The lights were dim. Wolves were dancing, hugging, kissing, grinding like they typically should.
"Sera!" Killian called out right away. Our eyes locked. My smile widened. Only… he looked pale. Killian always found me. We were pack friends. I had been close to his brother. He was my stepbrother's best friend. So we clicked fast.
"Now love, tell me why you are not drunk off your senses yet. And any idea where your brother is?" I asked. I threw my arms around Killian's neck like we often did. Flirting. Being playful. No one batted an eye at it. I was in love with his brother. Killian was simply the type to flirt with every wolf anyway.
"You… no… I do not know where he is. Why are you here? Should you not be at the pack seminar?" Killian asked. But no matter how hard he tried to keep his mask in place, he kept slipping. He looked anxious. His gold eyes would not stay on mine for long. I sensed the shift in his tone. My wolf picked up on it too.
"Where is Kelavra?" I asked again. My breath hitched. I pushed deeper into the party. Killian's hand clung to mine. He stopped me. His lips almost brushed my ear.
"You should not be here. Please go home, Sera Please," Killian pleaded.
I yanked my grip free. I stormed toward the rooms. I had been here before during the hunts to bait Kelavra. I knew his room. I moved with Killian hot on my heels. The door was locked. But of course I knew the code. I typed it in. The door clicked open. Time stilled.
My heart sank. Kelavra was laid in bed. A she-wolf was on top of him. His cock was glistening. The tip nudged her cunt. His hand was on her waist. Her breasts hung over his chest. A wave of shame overwhelmed me. Then it morphed into anger and pain. My claws extended. My wolf snarled.
"We are done," I said. Then I slammed the door shut.
My eyes locked with Killian. He said nothing. He looked guilty. I turned on my feet. The party seemed to have suddenly died down. Every wolf's eyes were on me. Tears formed in my eyes.
“Seraphina!" Kelavra's voice called after me.
I ran. I could hear him running after me. But I ignored his words. I kept going as fast as I could. Tears spilled freely down my face. My wolf whimpered inside me.
"Give her space. Let her breathe. We will talk after," Killian said. Anger was laced through his voice.
I shut the door to their suite. I stood right by the road. My breath hitched. Tears were still pouring. I was embarrassed. I loved him. He shattered me.
I staggered toward the stairs. I wanted to be alone. I cried my heart out. Spit ran from the side of my lips. My phone buzzed continuously. How long had he been with that she-wolf? Other she-wolves? Had we ever been real? Did every wolf in the pack know? I could not breathe. It hurt. Was this how heartbreak felt? If I could, I would claw out my own heart.
I would do anything to make it stop. I needed to make it stop.
Footsteps came closer in haste. They cut my thought short.
"Seraphina? Sera?… thank the moon, here you are." Killian rushed forward. He trembled as he reached for my hands.
"I know you want to be alone. But you need to come with me now. It is Silas. He is here. He will murder my brother if you do not come now," Killian pleaded.
I could hear the desperation in his voice. I stood frozen. All I could hear was the name. Silas. He was back? Here? How? Why? My wolf perked up. She remembered his scent. She remembered his growl.
Killian pushed the door open. The party had gone silent. That made it easy to spot them.
Silas had his back to me. His fists were bunched over Kelavra. Kelavra's face was bruised and bloodied. His fangs were chipped. His nose was broken. My heart raced faster and harder in my chest. My inner wolf did not know whether to run or stay.
"You hurt her, Kelavra. I warned you. And now I will break every one of your bones," Silas spat. His voice was low and cold. His claws were out. His gold eyes glowed in the dark. "One for each eyes that witnessed her cry tonight.”
KillianSilence smashed into the ruined foyer like a dropped weight, thick with the sick reek of raw copper, silver-poison, and cold sweat.Silas didn't fucking move.He stood frozen on the shattered tile, his massive chest hitching in shallow, agonizing gasps as my ultimate demand hung in the dead air between us.I could hear his heart thrashing against his ribs like a trapped animal. I could hear his inner wolf whining deep in his chest—a pathetic, broken sound that made my skin prickle with pure, intoxicating power."Make your fucking choice, Silas," I whispered, stepping right into his personal space until my suit jacket almost brushed his bare, blood-slicked chest."Right goddamn now."I watched his jaw lock so brutally hard his back teeth groaned under the pressure. His sharp Alpha fangs punched clean through his bruised bottom lip, sending a fresh stream of dark, silver-laced blood tracking down his chin and dripping onto my floor. He looked like a corpse. He looked like a rabi
KILLIANI stood at the top of the staircase... casually swirling two fingers of amber whiskey in a crystal glass... while the chaotic noise of my estate defense falling apart echoed from the courtyard outside...Down in the ruined entryway... Silas stepped through the broken threshold... his chest bare beneath an unzipped leather jacket... black veins pulsing violently up his neck... and dark... silver-laced blood dripping off his knuckles onto the tile floor... His pupils were completely blown... glowing with an unhinged... manic Alpha rage that was barely holding his dying body together...Beside him... his brother Kelavra pushed through the debris... his face deathly pale... while Jax and Marek lined the entryway with breacher axes... their inner wolves pacing aggressively beneath their skin... hackles raised and bared fangs dripping venom..."You really brought this whole fucking circus straight to my front door... didn't you, Silas?" I drawled... leaning casually against the poli
SILASThe flatline pitch screamed out in a continuous, deafening tone, shattering the freezing silence of the pack ICU room while my chest stayed completely dead beneath the paper sheet. My wolf lay collapsed on the bloody floor of my skull, his thick grey coat soaked in silver-poison, his breathing stopped, and his fangs bared in a frozen death-snarl."He’s flatlining!" my father roared from the doorway, his Alpha aura flaring so hard it cracked the glass windows along the wall."Get the fucking defibrillator cart in here right now!" the pack doctor yelled, slamming his hand against the emergency wall switch."Clear!" the medic shouted, slamming the heavy paddles straight onto my bare, silver-veined chest. The electrical shock jolted my dead weight off the mattress, but my wolf stayed completely motionless in the dark, buried under gallons of toxic wolfsbane. Let it go, my mind whispered into the pitch-black void, heavy with pathetic, hopeless grief. She chose him, Silas. She looked
SERAPHINAThe smooth finish of the entryway floorboards pressed hard against my left jawline, cold enough to numb the burning skin where his heavy hand had gripped my throat...My chest hitched in shallow, erratic bursts, each ragged intake of air rattling through my ribcage like loose gravel...Killian stood three inches from my face, his broad leather boots blocking out the light from the hallway sconces...The heavy iron latch on the front door was clicked shut into its socket, the deadbolt thrown, the security bar jammed flush against the floorboard...My shoulder joint throbbed with a sickening, rhythmic pulse where he had twisted my arm behind my back...Inside the tight, dark space beneath my sternum, my wolf was clawing wildly at my ribs, her bared fangs dripping with a blind, frantic urge to rip...Get up... Pop your claws through his eyes... Tear his throat out on the tiles...She thrashed against my throat, her chest heaving in tandem with mine, pushing hot blood toward my
KILLIANThe sweet, patient act was fucking over...My stomach churned with dark, lethal excitement as my chest expanded with heavy air...I slammed the entrance door shut right in her face, locking the deadbolt with a hard, echoey crack...My shoulder muscles locked tight as I threw the thick iron latch across the frame...I jammed the steel security bar deep into the floor socket before her fingers could even reach the handle...Seraphina spun around on the entryway tiles, her whole body shaking like a leaf in a storm...Her dark wolf eyes flashed wildly with pure, frantic terror..."Killian, open this fucking door right now!" she screamed, her raspy voice cracking open...Her long, dark claws popped straight through her cuticles, thick drops of red blood splattering across my floor..."Move out of my fucking way! Silas is dying in that hospital! He swallowed night-shade poison because of me! Move your body, Killian!"She lunged forward like a frantic animal, her leather armor slamming
SERAPHINA It was seven in the morning... The graduation ceremony at the central pack grounds was set to start in two hours, and my mind was locked completely on taking my rank as a head warrior... I was standing in front of the full-length mirror in Killian’s bedroom, smoothing down the dark leather over my ribs, my jaw set, my eyes completely clear... My inner wolf was quiet behind my chest, resting steadily under the calm, heavy presence Killian provided...Killian walked up behind me, his broad, bare chest pressing warm against my back... His large hands came around my waist, his thumbs tracing the silver buckle of my belt..."You look deadly, Sere," he rasped out, his deep voice vibrating straight into my spine as his bared fangs lightly scraped the skin behind my ear... "Every warrior on that dirt field is going to bow their head when you step out..."I leaned my head back against his shoulder, letting out a soft breath..."I just want to get my title," I whispered, my fingers
SERAPHINA HE obviously does not love my mother, to Alpha Thorne she was a perfect mate… a Luna to lead. A strong mate. And I? Was nothing but collateral fucking damage."She is in safe hands, Dad. I will have her checked into all her classes. SERAPHINA is in very good hands," Silas spoke, smiling
SERAPHINAPrayers are very dangerous things, I learned that the night my mother got mated to the alpha king. I had spent years begging the moon goddess for a brother. When Silas Thorne walked into my life, I started begging to take back my wish.My fingers trembled around the bouquet of wildflower
SERAPHINACold chills seeped down my bones as I stuffed my bags angrily. My wolf growled low in my chest. Irritation crawled down my spine as I packed every last bit of my stuff into my box. My wolf perked up her ears. I heard the lock click on the door and I felt uneasy. I had expected him to stay
SILASI stiffened… her scent hit my nose. My wolf lifted his head inside me. Everyone in the hallway went still. Their breaths caught. A few lower rank wolves lowered their eyes."Silas…" she called out. Her breath hitched as I turned to face her. My wolf growled low in my chest. Her red wavy hair
