INICIAR SESIÓNSORAYA’S POV
"You look beautiful!" I turned to the familiar voice and smiled at Geraldina, Rosalind's daughter. Rosalind was my late mother’s best friend and was like a godmother to me. Apart from the former Alpha Dorian’s father, she was one of the few people who had genuinely loved me. But Dorian’s father was now late, making me remain with only her and her daughter as my hope in this cruel world. She and Geraldina now lived outside Redclad Pack as lone wolves. Back when I was a child, Rosalind had worked as an Omega cook, always standing up for me whenever I was bullied. But Dorian’s mother had hated me enough to frame her for stealing a golden pendant, getting her banished along with her daughter. Stripped of their status, they were forced to leave. Fortunately, they found a way to start over without turning rogue. And now, after running from Redclad Pack, I had found my way to them. "Thanks to you, Dina," I said, tugging at the knee-length dress she had made me wear. "You needed this, Soraya," Rosalind added, her voice thick with emotion. "You’ve been crying for two weeks. It’s time to go out and breathe." Two weeks… That’s how long I had been drowning in betrayal, locked in my grief. Two weeks since Dorian left me for my best friend, Elara who was now carrying his heir. And I had nothing… nothing to make him choose me. "I’m sure your mother is happy watching over you," Rosalind whispered. Her words sent a tear slipping down my cheek. If only I had met my mother… The only thing I had of hers was the necklace Rosalind had given me on my twenty-first birthday, the day I married Dorian. She had said it belonged to my mother, but I didn’t even have a picture of her. Omegas weren’t granted such luxuries. "Please, don’t cry! You’re ruining your makeup," Rosalind soothed, pulling me into a hug. "Mom, you’re making it worse!" Geraldina scolded, prying us apart. "She finally agreed to a girls’ night, don’t send her back to her room!" I wiped my tears as Geraldina fished a tissue from her red handbag, dabbing my face before fixing my makeup. "That’s not needed, Dina." "It is, Aya," she insisted, combing my dark-amber hair behind my shoulders. Everyone always said my dark-amber hair and amber eyes were rare. Even Rosalind and Dorian had thought so. But Dorian… he never liked looking into my eyes, saying they made him feel like I could see right through him. Maybe because he had been hiding his affair with Elara all along. Shaking the thought away, I focused on Rosalind’s past words. She had once told me my mother had dark hair and brown eyes. Yet here I was, with amber eyes, dark-amber hair. But I didn’t know my father. Even Rosalind knew nothing about him, my mother had never spoken to her about him. "Now you look incredible!" Geraldina declared, grabbing my hand. "Be safe, girls! And come home early..." Rosalind’s voice trailed behind us as Geraldina hurried me out the door, waving off her mother’s concerns. As soon as we got into the cab, I asked, "Where exactly are we going?" "You’ll see," she replied with a sly smile. This girl was a schemer. I didn’t press further. I needed this night, needed to escape the pain for a while. For weeks, I had been nothing but a mess, pretending to be strong when, in reality, I was breaking apart. Tonight, I would breathe. When the cab finally stopped, I stepped out, my stilettos clicking against the pavement. My eyes widened in shock. "A club?!" "Yes, girl! You’re letting it all out tonight. And tomorrow, I don’t want to see you crying again because you will be starting to work with me on my ice-cream shop!" Geraldina declared. “Really? You will let me work with you?” I asked, pulling my hand away from her. I still couldn't believe that I was indeed going to start afresh. Rosalind worked in a hotel while her daughter owned a small ice-cream shop, all thanks to her mother's savings. Thank the goddess for Rosalind and her daughter. “Yes, now stop making it seem to be a big deal because it isn't.” I rolled my eyes but let her lead me inside but not after murmuring a thank you to her. The moment we entered, the place overwhelmed me, flashing lights, pulsing music, strippers twirling on poles while men threw money at them, couples making out without a care, and groups laughing, drinking, and dancing like nothing else mattered. Maybe clubs weren’t as bad as I thought. We found seats at the bar, the music so loud I had to shout, "Does your mom know we’re here?" "Of course not! She’d never let us come," Geraldina smirked. “Now you will be in trouble because I will tell her when we reach there." I played along and she pointed a finger at me, her blue eyes on fire. "Try it, and I’ll disown you as my sister." Her words made me pause. Geraldina saw me as a sister. Without thinking, I pulled her into a hug. “Well, I know I can be insistent and pushy sometimes but I hate it when you cry. Because I consider you as a sister I never had." She continued after we broke the hug, staring at anyone else in the club but me. Geraldina was the one who forced me to come here and she was also the one who made it possible for me to get out of my room. So of course, she could insist. But I was grateful for that. I smiled. "And I love you as my little sister." Geraldina was three years younger than me, and like me, she had no father in the picture. Wow! Seemed like our mothers were something else. "Now, let’s enjoy the night!" she announced, ordering wine for me and a stronger drink for herself because she knew I had never drank before. We drank while talking as Geraldina made sure I laughed, and for the first time in weeks, I felt lighter. Then, she excused herself to go to the restroom but not after making sure the bartender knew not to serve me anything stronger than wine. I finished my glass and was about to order another when my gaze locked onto something, someone. My heart stopped. Dorian. And Elara. Goddess. What were they doing here—in a lone wolves’ club? And… since when did Dorian like loud places?SORAYA’S POV“A disastrous moment for the Redclad Pack after a sudden and violent assault claimed the lives of ten pack members and left five critically wounded, including the pack's Beta, who is currently receiving emergency treatment....”I nearly choked on the water. It burned down my throat as my gaze jerked to the massive television bolted high on the wall of Geraldina’s ice-cream shop."You like the show?"Goddess, I had forgotten she was even there."What the hell is going on?" I slammed the glass onto the table; water splashed across the polished wood. My eyes stayed glued to the screen as I rounded on her. She had just waved off her last customer and now leaned on the counter, smirking at me like she had won the lottery."They’re finally getting what they deserve for every single thing they did to you." Geraldina scooped another generous spoonful of mint chocolate chip and popped it into her mouth, eyes glittering with malicious glee.I had dragged myself here this morning to
DORIAN’S POVThe dungeon smelled of rust, piss, and scorched flesh.I descended the stairs with deliberate steps, letting each one announce me. The rogue was already hanging when I arrived — wrists raw from silver, one eye puffed shut, lips split. Leo had done good work. Not enough to kill him. Just enough to remind him who was in charge.I stopped a few paces away and studied him like one studies vermin before crushing it.“You reek of Damon Sterling’s kennel,” I said calmly. “But even he wouldn’t be stupid enough to send someone this sloppy. So who really gave the order?”The rogue lifted his head slowly. Blood crusted the corner of his mouth. He tried to smirk anyway.“You still think this is about money or territory?” His voice was rough, amused. “You really are that fucking delusional.”I didn’t rise to the bait. I never do. People like him always think they can get under my skin with insults. They never realize I’ve already measured them for a grave.I stepped closer. “You butch
DORIAN’S POV"H-HELP!""P-please Alpha, h-help us!" "W-whats happening to us!""M-my pups, my...my pups have been slaughtered in front of my own eyes!" I watched as in completely dumbfounded at my many pack members who were losing their lives on the ground of packhouse as they bleed uncontrollably. I wanted to speak, wanted to tell them that I was here for them, that I would do anything to help them. But I couldn't. Because I was sure there was nothing I could do. There was nothing I could do to help them now that they were at the brick of death. The blood, the cries of pain, the sorrow as some of them fought to stay alive but the injuries were too much to be healed, made my heart stopped, my head dizzy and my whole body unable to move.I couldn't believe what was happening in front of me. Couldn't believe that the ambush on the packhouse, was this extremeHow couldn't I know early? This was unbelievable! The screams drilled into my skull like knives.Blood soaked the grass in d
DORIAN’S POV“Alpha! Alpha…the packhouse is under attack!”The sudden scream made me freeze in my tracks. My eyes turned sharply toward the direction of the frantic voice.“Alpha…Alpha Dorian…”“SHUT UP!” I roared, my fists clenching at my sides, my chest rising and falling heavily.“Do you even remember that I am your Alpha?” I barked. The man standing at the doorway trembled, bowing his head quickly.“A-apologies, Alpha…but the packhouse…”“Shut your mouth!” I thundered again, my voice echoing through the foyer.Inside, my heart was pounding so hard I almost forgot how to breathe.Yes, I was scared. This was bad.I stood there pretending to be calm and furious, blaming the pack members for incompetence, but it was all a mask. A thin veil to hide the fear tightening around my chest.“Lucas, where are you?” I mind-linked him immediately. I needed him here. Right now.I wanted to go and find him myself, but that was impossible. He had to come to me.“Alpha, I am at the packhouse fighti
DORIAN’S POV“E-Elara…”My voice failed me. The words tangled in my throat and refused to come out as my eyes stayed fixed on the sight before me.“It is not like this,” I tried again, my chest tightening. “You are over—”“Stop!” she cried. The sharpness in her voice cut me off completely. I froze, the rest of my words dying on my tongue.“My little pup…” Her gaze dropped to her belly, her hands shaking as she cradled it protectively. Tears slid down her cheeks, endless, as if she had an ocean hidden inside her. This woman cried as easily as breathing.“If your Alpha does not want us,” she whispered, broken, “then we should not live.”My heart slammed violently in my chest. She lifted her hand, the small shard glinting faintly. I moved before thought could catch up with fear.“Miss Elara, stop!” another voice shouted.I lunged forward, fast and reckless, grabbing her wrist and wrenching it away from her neck. The motion sent pain up my arm, but I did not loosen my grip. My pulse roare
DORIAN’S POVI never thought things would end this way when Soraya left the pack.Back then, I believed her departure would bring peace. Silence. Control. I thought the storm would follow her out of my life and leave me standing in calm air.I was wrong, I was terribly wrong.Maybe I had underestimated her. Or maybe I had underestimated myself. Either way, the cracks were spreading now, crawling through my pack, my home, my head. And if this was punishment, then it had chosen its timing well.Of all the people she could have aligned herself with, why Damon Sterling? Why that monster wearing a wolf’s skin? The thought burned through me like poison.A roar tore out of my chest before I could stop it. My foot connected with the vase beside the wall, sending it crashing to the floor. Flowers scattered, water splashing across the tiles like spilled blood.“AAAAAH!” The sound echoed, wild and ugly.“Darling… Alpha… you need to calm down.”Her voice again. Soft and shaking. I ignored it. My
