017| The Demon Kings Claim

The guards relaxed, happy to have a clear order. But my stomach clenched tight. Being called criminals in front of the Demon King was bad, really bad.

Everyone knew of the demon king brutality. It was better to commit suicide than to be brought before him for torturing. His punishments are worse than death.

My thoughts ran back to the stories I've heard from elders of his cruelty.

Dravon once captured an enemy Alpha who dared to challenge his throne. Instead of killing him, the Alpha was forced to watch helplessly as his beloved family was wiped out in front of him. Members of his pack that escaped were hunted down one by one before being dragged back, broken and toothless, to Dravon’s mercy. The rest were turned to slaves in his palace. Eventually, Dravon extracted one of the Alpha's fangs, the silver tooth marking his rank. He chained the Alpha in a dark pit with wolves that had been fed only blood and rage. Not even the bone of the alpha lived to see the next day.
