56: HEAVEN'S GATES

PEBBLES' POV

“Hmm," I groaned. A feeling of zeal and contentment enveloped my soul. My eyelashes fluttered open, taking in the beautiful sky up above; the blue was bright and soft, bringing a serenity I never knew existed. The wind gently guided the clouds across the atmosphere, taking them to places far and wide. The equanimity that my brain encountered as I cloud gazed; imagining a bald-headed newborn drinking from its mother's breast brought a sense of calmness matching the warmth of the daylight's beams; the sun's rays were the brightest I've ever witnessed.

I stretched my torso and ran my fingers over the ground where I laid. The earth was soft, and I felt stems snaking through my fingers. My fingertips tingled, and my senses heightened as a gust of wind captured the mixed aromas of the flowery field, delivering them straight to my nose.

The birds sang sweet melodies as I rose to my feet. My eyes adjusted to the surrounding view.
