Avala's POV

That was close.

When I felt the pull in my blood, I knew that Dravin had lost his mind again.

At first, I panicked, thinking I was the subject of his ire. The last time this happened, it was the most unpleasant feeling resisting his summons.

Fortunately, he seemed to be summoning Soren.

As I watched Elora leave the Pack earlier today, I had a terrible premonition that this might be her last chance to escape Dravin's claws.

Except for the fact that she wasn't escaping.

She was going to come back.

The fact that she took Lyanna was enough proof.

I prepared my things soon after her and snuck out of the Pack in a bid to follow her. That seemed to have paid off quite well because Dravin never used the blood summon unless he was desperate.

There was only one reason Dravin would be desperate enough to use it now. He had no idea I had left, and he honestly hadn’t paid me any attention for the past few days, so I couldn’t be the reason.
