I saw a sleek black stopped in front of the door and our expected client came out from the car door.

Cleah looked at the expected visitors' list and released a sigh.

" You are in charge of that." She said, pointing to Mr. Sawyer and his company.

I didn’t respond because I know what to do. Cleah is also a receptionist here and she already does the morning jobs.

I formed a welcoming smile on my face as I straightened my suit. They walked towards me; I am a receptionist so normally I am the one who meets the client first.

"Good Afternoon. Mr. Sawyer. It was nice seeing you here. Mr. Lambert is waiting for you." I greeted politely. He gave me a curt nod to continue while his bodyguards surrounded him.

Multifold link is the name of the company owned by Mr. Lambert the CEO, while his wife is the president here.

I pressed the intercom to inform the people of the conference room to be prepared.

"Please follow me." I said informed him. I headed to the conference room while they are silently following me. I opened the door for them and they entered.

Mr. Lambert gave me a wink and playfully heart sign. I nodded and smiled at him. I watched the visitors took a sit. I gave a last curt nod in the conference room and I leave.

You are probably wondering what is our relationship. We don't have any connections or relationships, he is the boss and I am an employee. Mr. Sawyer or should I say, Michael. He is a boss who gives only positivity to the employees like us especially if we did good, he learned the heart sign using two-finger his thumb and forefinger to one of our employees who is addicted to Korean movies or other K-pop. He gives that to all the employees not only me. He also has a wife. Duh.

I am not really into rich people who own big-time companies. I prefer people that we will start from the bottom until we reach the top.|

I just prefer but a big NO. NO.

This is my dream and my mom knew what is my dream to work at a big company as a receptionist, but because of my mistake, she didn't know that I already reached this.

Being a receptionist in a large company gives you a big salary. I live simply.

These things I do are all for my family. I know I made a mistake that disappoints them but I want to make things right.

I don't want to be like my father.

It's been already years since my family abandoned me but I am not going to stop until I get them back.

Family is everything according to them but I don't feel that at all. I just want them back.

My thoughts occupied me; I didn't notice I reach my desk section.

"How is it?" She grinned, tapping the ballpen on the notebook. I gave a thumb up and walked to my place.

I started listing all the expected clients, visitors, and newly employed employees that Mr. Lambert's P.A sent me. After this, I will do our excess works I needed to do.

I checked the time it's already 7 pm. It's already our time-out. I picked up my bag and phone.

"I am going. Want to ride?" Cleah asks.

I turned to look at her. I tugged her wrist and bolted out of the company.

"Oh God," I heard her while walking to the parking.

I unlock my fingers to her wrist and let out a heavy sigh.

"I shouldn't ask. I know you are joining. Anyways." She said, panting heavily and pressed the car keys.

I laughed in response. She is the one who bought a car because she knows how to drive.

I want to buy my own too but I don't know how to drive. To learn, I need to have a driving lesson.

I slid in the car and Cleah started to drive.

"Cl-Cleah, w-where are we going?" I asked hesitantly, she knows where I live.

"To your date?"

"My date?"

"Yes."

"I don't date or have a relationship. You know that." I explained calmly but inside it's very irritating.

I don't like that

"Yes..." she said sheepishly. "But let's give it a try, my friend recommended it to me." She added, her eyes still focus on the road, steering the wheel.

"That is just a waste of time. I swear, that can be my sleeping time "

"Just try. We are almost there. Please." Her voice was begging and I can't say no.

I groaned in annoyance. "Just try. " I stated, her face lit up and said, "YES!" She tapped the steering wheel twice hardly.

No matter how she will tr. I will never fall in love. I am invulnerable

She pulled the handbrake and looked at me. "We are here. He will be the one who will send you home. His name is Aldwin and waiting in there." She informed me and pointed at the restaurant in front of us. The fancy restaurant that every celebrity and businessman goes to.

I rolled my eyes and said " Ok "

I opened the car door and stormed out in her car with a heavy feeling.

She opened the windows. "Best of luck. Muah muah." She said, showering a flying kiss and she sped up.

I am really not interested.

I walked over to the girl who is standing at the mini podium a-like. 

"Reservation for Aldwin?" The girl looked at the list intently.

"No reservation with that name. Ma'am." She said.

"Can you double-check? My friend said it's here."

She again looked and find what I was saying but she found none.

"Sorry, madam." She said and I nodded in embarrassment.

A man with a business suit took my side as I walked slowly out of the girl's vision.

"Reservation under the name of Ecollin." I heard a very deep voice.

What on Earth is Cleah doing!

I picked up my phone and dialed her number but no answer so I texted her.

Me:

I will kill you tomorrow.

I guess, I will just take a cab.

I walked over to the street, waving my hand for a cab to stop but no one stops.

There are different cars are parked here so only where I am standing can a cab stop by. Mostly the cars are all luxurious or belong to the rich people who are dining in that restaurant.

"Joshua, can I come to your home?" A voice asks. I tilted my head to look at him. He is on the phone.

Joshua? Is that my friend?

"What do you mean? Ava is coming home?" I continued to eavesdrop, pretending I am scrolling on my phone.

Me! This little Joshua is hiding something from me.

"Ok. I love you and miss you." Disappointment visible in his voice while his face was forming a frown.
