Chapter 2

Ava Celestine

I walked over to him as he ended his phone call.  "Hi," I said with a smile.

He stared at me confused. "Hello?" He replied hesitantly.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop but are you talking to Joshua Qeud earlier?"

"U-hmm.. Ava?"

" Yes." I said confidently; his eyes widened and his mouth fell open.

"You... Ava... Josh...Roommate...you heard me… Saying... I love… you... oh God." He stuttered, sinking and pinpointing what he said.

"Yes." I sighed.

"I swear Joshua wanted to inform you about us but he said you are still busy." He explained, feeling uncomfortable telling me.

Yes, Joshua is gay so no problem with it.

I checked the time and it's already late. "Giving me a free ride will do." I smiled brightly.

"FALLA!" He sang, moving his fingers to follow him.   "Let's go gurl," He said and walked past me.

I followed and stopped by a Mustang GT. He opened the door and I slid in.

Nice one Ava.

"Nice car," I commented as a sit on the comfortable shotgun.

"Nico is the name. My baby Josh and I bought this actually." My mouth formed an O shape.

"So Nico, I probably assume that you know where I live. Let's go girl." I cheer him up.

"Falla, pretty gurl." He said and stepped on the gas.

He was driving and I urged myself to ask him. " Since when you and Joshua?"

" We've been friends for years and been in a relationship for a month now." I nodded, contented in his explanation.

I have been busy so normally we don't have time to talk even him. He works at BLADE RUSH Techno. A multinational technology company, I tried to apply there a lot of times but I got rejected.

They are very strict.

"Where do you work?"

"Multifold link."

"You."

"BLADE RUSH Techno." He said and stepped on the brake. A young billionaire owns that company.

"Wonderful job. Isn't it?"

Trust me, Joshua is always daydreaming when he sees his boss. How did I find out? He always talks to me that whenever we have time.

I never had seen his face only the facial features that Josh told me. Why would I have interests in them?

Nothing, right?

"Wonderful job but very cruel, cold, and arrogant CEO. How’s that?" He retorted.

My mouth zipped nothing to say. Many rumors about how the CEO runs the company strictly.

"Pretty gurl, Falla." He said, getting me out of my thoughts and he got out of the car.

We walked to the elevator and I pressed the 10th floor. Joshua and I owned this condo. He is my classmate since I was kicked out from the house. We pursue our dreams and here we are. We have stable jobs.

Classy but not too fancy is our dream condo so we paid for the designer just to click our taste.

The elevator opened and we stepped outside, his leather shoes and my stilettos clicking the hallway. We stopped at the door and input the keys to unlock it.

Joshua came running into me "Ava... I know you are mad, but I will explain everything." He said panting heavily.

" Joshua, I understand. You don't owe me any explanation as long as you are happy. I am fine with it." I said, entering our condo.

"Thanks, beshhy..." He engulfed me in a hug while I slightly pinched the side of his stomach.

"I deserved that." He mumbled as I suppressed a laugh.

He pulled out and called Nico. "Babe, you are now free to go here. Anytime."

"I leave you two here. Need to run some errands." I said and they nodded. I walked over to my door.

"Falla. Pretty Gurl."

Errands, I am pertaining to showering, fixing my work clothes, etc.

This condo has two rooms and has its own bathrooms. The kitchen and Dining area in one room also one office.

As soon as I entered my room. I removed my 3-inch stilettos and my bra.

I bounced on my queen-sized bed and sprawled my body.

I closed my eyes. I think I just fell asleep.

I just came home and very starving for food. I don't have any money or food in school also exhausted.

I started to stuff the food like a lion when my dad came down and saw me eating; his eyes are fuming in anger.

" You eat my food! You know that I didn't eat last night! " My dad spit out his anger. "Your mind is too small." He added, pointing his finger at my forehead as I cried.

"I am so sorry Dad, I thought you already eat and I am so hungry." I sobbed as I leave the food in front of me.

"You are not thinking!" He spat, his hands stretched, and got the vase beside him.

"NO!!!!!" I screamed.

My eyes shot open. I woke up, panting.

It is just a dream.

I felt my stomach is rumbling. I am still wearing my work clothes.  I looked at my nightstand and it's 1 am in the morning.

My door flew open. Josh and Nico entered, concern visible on their faces.

"Ava? What happen?" Are you hurt?" Josh asked a lot of questions, walking towards me.

He checked me all over my body, finding any signs.

"You look ok." He commented.

"I am ok," I said quietly and rubbed my shoulder.

Nico walked up to me and gave me the water. "What happened to you? Why are you screaming?" He asked concerned. I drank the water, he gave that fully calmed me down.

"Nightmare, Babe," Josh answered for me. Nico nodded and rubbed my back soothingly.

"Let me guess, you didn't eat Ava?" Josh asked and narrowed his eyes on me.  I formed my lips in a thin line feeling guilty and shook my head.

He wrapped his fingers and pulled me up. " We are going to eat."

We exited from my room and Josh brought me to the kitchen. Nico followed us.

As Josh free my hand. Nico pulled a chair for me and I thanked him.

"Gosh, Ava... You are neglecting yourself again." He scolded me while picking up the plate of sushi.

"I forgot. I am sorry." I mumbled and looked down. Josh is very thoughtful. He always makes sure that I am good.

"Next time Ava, make sure you eat. " Nico said with a playful smile on his face, walking to Josh. " Because my babe here is getting angry. " He said and put his hand on Joshua's shoulder.

Joshua gave us rolling eyes but I smiled and nodded at him in response. I know it's my fault.

"Here take this." He said and gave me the tray. I picked up the chopstick and split it in two.

I stick up one sushi and shoved it in my mouth. "You are not going to join me?" I grumbled, chewing.

Nico picked up the 2 chopsticks and gave Joshua the other one. We started to eat.

"I'll be the one who will clean this up." Josh stood up. Nico looked at me.

"You little girl, change and sleep. You have work tomorrow." He ordered like I am his daughter.

"That's my babe." Josh slapped Nico's arms playfully. I chuckled at their sweetness.

"Yes, masters," I said and bowed my head coltishly.

Josh walked up to me and kissed my forehead. " Ava. Take care of yourself."
