Because i'm married

Gradually as this conversation was going on, Ruby and Lucas’s conversation had taken another level that doesn’t seem like two people that just met. 

“There are a few parts that I don’t quite understand. Do you mind explaining them to me? You said you’ve read the whole script”

Still smiling and trying to maintain her composure, Ruby replied,  “Actually, I only read my part in the script. If you don’t understand, I’ll get the scriptwriter to explain it to you. You’re a senior, you should understand better than me”

Seeing that Lucas’s blue eyes was fixed on her without replying, Ruby feel so caught up in his gaze and she shifted uneasily, “Beta Lucas, is there something on my face?”

Lucas doesn’t seem like he heard her, he only continued staring at her, Ruby blinked feel she’d say something unreasonable that probably hurt him. “Beta Lucas?”

“Lucas” He says with a slight smile. 

Ruby was surprised and clueless, “What?” 

“Call me Lucas” his lips was raised slightly in a smirk Ruby couldn’t interpret as mockery or interest, “Why? You’re top actor and a powerful Beta, why should I call you by your name? Is anything wrong?”

“No.” Lucas laughed dryly. “It’s my first time seeing a newcomer who doesn’t ogle at me or ask for my help or autograph. If I go in there and say just a ‘Hello’ to a random actress, 99.9 questions will be thrown at me immediately” 

Ruby laughed subconsciously, “What type of questions?” 

“Beta Lucas did you have a girlfriend? Can we have a picture together? Can you mention my name on your social media wall? So much questions and I usually don’t like such questions” Lucas replied clearly amused by the lady before him. 

Ruby looked at him gratefully. “Thank you for your compliment. I’ll not ask such questions becuase i'm married"  

They both laughed at this dry joke. Ruby immediately thanked her stars that she hasn’t made the mistake of asking those boring questions like Mr Clinton advised. 

“You must be very capable to be chosen for this role. I have high hopes for you and I hope we become good friends without requests and questions” 

Ruby was touched beyond words. Having the support of a powerful and popular Beta like him is something she wasn’t expecting since no one knew her identity as Lycan Pyrrhus’s Luna. “Really? Thank you for your encouragement. I’ll do my best to be your friend”

At some corner, three actresses who’d came to the restroom caught a glimpse of the popular Beta Lucas and the industry plant as they call her, chatting happily. 

“Isn’t that Ella’s sister? The industry plant?” 

The latter nodded, “it’s her. The lady that got the role with the King’s help, why is she with Beta Lucas now? Is she trying to seduce him too?”

Another one chimed in, “I heard she’s once married to Beta Micheal from Redmoon Pack and that’s why she quit two years ago. Now she’s back to seduce more men”

“But looking at her from this angle, she doesn’t seem that bad”

What the gossipers doesn’t realize quickly was that Ella Moon, Ruby’s sister was behinds them eavesdropping on their conversation. She’d also saw how Lucas and Ruby were smiling together. Bile rose to her tongue and anger overshadowed her. She’d tried all her best to get Beta Lucas talk to her and yet Ruby got him making friends with her immediately. 

One of the gossipers said again, “She’s more prettier than Ella anyway. I’ll chose her over Ella because Ella is too arrogant” 

“Yes. If Ella had been the one talking to Beta Lucas or known the King, she’ll have almost murder us with oppression. I hate the girl so cocky!” 

Hearing that, Ella jabbed them from the back angrily a gave them a cold look. Seeing that, the people behind her immediately shut up.

She hates it when people talks about Ruby more nicely than hers. “She got all the men’s attention because she seduced them. Stop spreading groundless rumors, she got the role because she’s my sister not because of the King”

“We’re sorry Ella” the ladies quickly rushed out of the hallway. No one can afford to get on Ella’s black book, despite her temper, she still got some influence in the industry.

Ella’s heartbeat increase with an unsteady tempo. Beta Lucas didn’t care about others, even though she was the second female lead, he’d ignored her like a plague but now he’s chatting with Ruby? Ella felt even more uncomfortable.

“That bitch Ruby Moon must have done it on purpose to spite me” She thought before leaving angrily.

Lucas had joined the party and the occasion resumed when Ruby came out of the toilet hallway only to see Ella drinking alone around a table. 

Ruby was surprised that her sophisticated Stepsister could sit alone despite all the fame she clamoured she has. So Ruby walked over but Immediately Ella saw her, she stood up and walked to the washroom. 

“She’s trying to lure me in” Ruby knows because there’s bit CCTV in there. 

When they’re now alone in the washroom, Ella could now yell, “Ruby tell me where have you been staying?”

Ruby finds this odd and smirked, “Sister, since when did too start to care about me? Snatching husband is not enough?”

“Ruby!!!” Ella yelled in petrification. She was afraid anyone might hear them. “Better know your lane!!” 

Ruby didn’t reply but posed with elegance that made Ella feel very frustrated. Looking at Ruby’s expensive dressing and a new confidence, Ella knows she was in trouble. 

She sneered. “I advise you to leave this crew.”

Ruby looked at her coldly, she’d anticipated this kind of instruction from her, “I should leave the crew for you like I left my matrimonial home to you?”

Ella hates it when someone brings up her mistake like this, her grip on her dress tightened, “Better don’t play with fire.  Talking woru Beta Lucas and having the King’s recommendation, did you think you’re now high?”

Ruby hasn’t learnt of the baseless accusations and rumored going in behind her as ‘industry plant’ she frowned and looked at Ella with confusion, “The King’s recommendation? Did you mean Lycan King Pyrrhus?” 

Ella  snorted. “Stop pretending. We all see how he King’s Beta was running around to ask about the role you’re auctioning for and now, you’re playing around with his cousin, did you think he can ever look at an Omega as you?”

These words was like a slap to Ruby’s face. If Edison was asking about her role during the audition, and how she miraculous got the role despite being unfit for it as a newbie, this explains that Pyrrhus indeed recommended her. 

She was angry that she only learnt about this from Ella so she vented her anger on Ella, the harbinger,  “Don’t blame others because you don’t have the ability! You can only seduce the likes of Micheal and never the King and his cousin, so are you jealous?”

“How dare you talk to me like that Ruby Moon? Do you want to loose your role?” Ella bellowed.

Ruby smirked, “Unfortunately Ella Moon, we only shared the same surname but never the same connection with people. The King recommended me so what’s your deal with that?”

“What’s going on here?” Just then, a voice came from behind. Ruby and Ella turned around and saw Logan standing there. 

The both growled angrily, Ella walked up to him, “Oh Logan why are you in the female toilet?”

“I heard your voice so I….”

“Mtcheewwww” Hissing, Ruby interrupted Logan and left the washroom.
