It had been three months since the incident that damaged the relationship between Alpha Dane and Luna Zora. Things were not as they used to be. Alicia had moved into the pack three days after, and she had done so many things to make Luna Zora a villain.

Zora didn't fail to perform her duty as a Luna. Despite the mating pain she endured every night, she still managed to pledge her humanity to the people of the Moon Claw pack.

Zora was on an outing to give a second dose of the portfolio vaccine to the children in the pack.

She went alone with her mother-in-law. Glenda has never left her side since the incident.

She had suggested that Zora should run away, but she still couldn't do it without her son rejecting her.

Mothers who gathered to collect injections began to murmur.

“This is the second time Luna Zora is giving out children injections that Alpha Dane would be absent for. This is really bad,” one of the mothers said.

“All these happened because they were never mated. I will never allow any of my children to marry anyone that is not their mate.”

“The love between them was more than a mate bond. Who would have thought Alpha Dane would do that to Luna Zora? Our alpha is promiscuous.”

“Luna is so strong; I wonder how she bears her husband's betrayal, coupled with claiming pain. Her skin is no longer hers,” another one said with a concern etching on her face.

“Can we just stop this gossip and take our children to her?” One of the women who found their discussion unhealthy said as she stood up to meet Luna Zora where she was arranging the set.

“Our Luna, I'm so sorry about what is happening to you. Please fight for your marriage; you are the best Luna for us. Look at your child. He is doing very well now. I took your advice last time.”

Zora let out a smile as she examined the child. The child smiled back, holding up her middle finger.

Tears wanted to fall from her eyes, but she held them back. She dug her hand into her pocket and brought out candy.

She replaced her finger with candy and called the next mother to come forward.

The programme went on till the last child received the vaccine.

“Lyliana, where is Mother? It is time to return to the pack house; I'm tired.” Zora asked.

“I don't know where she went. She said we shouldn't wait for her when we are done.”

Zora furrowed her brows. It was unusual of her mother-in-law to go somewhere without telling her.

She thought about it for a while and said, “Let Dora assist you with packing; we need to get to the pack house as soon as possible.” She began losing the apron that had a vaccine image of her body.

When her aides were done, she led the way to where their vehicle was parked. They all entered, and the driver drove to the pack.

As they got to the pack house, Zora couldn't go inside. The disappearance of her mother-in-law weighed heavily upon her. She told the maids to go in while she wanted to do something at the pack clinic.

She went to her office; the memory of the child and people gossiping rushed back, and she began to sob.

She missed her precious life with an alpha Dane. He was so obsessed with it that they went out on occasions like this.

Alpha Dane used to collect children from their mother while Luna Zora was injected. She did almost all the work today.

Just when she placed her head on the table, relaxing, a click on the floor alerted her. Who could be coming to her office this evening?

Everyone knew Zora used to go back to the office after going out. Could it be a thief who wanted to break in?

A triumphant smirk escaped Alicia’s lips as she entered.

“Oh! Coming in scares you; it is unusual for you to get back to the clinic after an outing. Are you scared of coming in? Don't worry, Alpha Dane has gotten something that will reduce my moaning sound. But he said he was uncomfortable not hearing it. Did he like to hear you moaning too?” She asked with a sneer, rounding her eyes.

Zora's eyes drained of colour. She knew what Alicia was trying to do. Her presence was not always good. Maybe she came to frame her again, but she wouldn't let her succeed.

Instead of reacting, she acted as if no one was talking or present. She opened a file on her table and started working on it.

After saying much, Zora treated her as a speck of dust.

“Alpha Dane said you should check me, Luna Zora. I bet you won't ignore Alpha's order.”

“What will happen if I do? You know who to call when you are sick.” Zora responded, flipping the document on her table.

“You are a gynaecologist; you are the right doctor for me. When can you check me? Alpha Dane may want to pass a message to you through me. Here…” She rounded her hand on her stomach.

Zora was done condoning her nonsense; she slammed the document on her table and snapped.

“A mistress with no shame, you don't have to tell me he fucks you every day, because that is the only thing you can offer. You don't moan; you groan as if a trunk passes over you. So get the hell out of here, home wrecker!”

“You’re a liar! I know you feel the pain every day and any time we do it. How do you manage to survive? How is it to endure the pain of someone's pleasur”e?

“What are you waiting for? It is clear that Dane doesn't love you, or are you waiting for the day he will come back to his senses and reject me for you? No way, that will never happen; my honey pot is extremely sweet; whoever enters will like to die there, so it has captured Dane.” Alicia said with a sly grin.

Zora scoffed; she could see that Alicia didn't trust Dane so much. Why would she when he refused to reject Zora?

Would Zora take him back if he comes back to her?

“Why are you afraid that he will reject you? Why didn't he mark you? This should let you know that you are nothing to him but a sex toy; he will dump you when he is tired of you.” Alicia's heart skipped a bit as the realisation of what Zora said hit her: if Alpha Dane truly cared about her, he would have marked her after claiming her. Her face contorted into anger. Claws began to form on her nail, her vein bulged, and she nearly shifted into her wolf form and attacked Zora.

She quickly snapped; attacking Zora would expose all her secrets, and Dane would despise her. She thought of getting Zora punished.

“Let's see who is more important between you and me,” Alicia said with a malicious smirk.

“You don't need to confirm anything; you are the most important now. Everyone already knows that Dane likes community p*ssy; he likes to swim in your pool,” Zora taunted.

Colour drained from Alicia's face. How dare Zora insult her? She mind-linked Alpha Dane.

“Alpha, our baby, help! I'm with Zora in the clinic.”

She severed the link and slapped herself hard on the face, her palm leaving a handprint.

Zora was unfazed; she didn't react. Whatever plots she had, she wouldn't let her win.

She sat on her chair and watched Alicia displaying her madness.

Alicia Walking closer, she rampaged at her table, and she found scissors. Zora's eyes widened; she thought Alicia wanted to harm her with the scissors. She quickly stood up to collect the scissors from her. In a swift motion, she stabbed herself near the abdomen.

“Alicia, are you crazy…” She hadn't finished her statement when Dane entered, seeing Alicia sprawling on the floor; she held her stomach tightly.

“Our baby!” Alicia cried out, her voice cracking with fake sorrow.

Timika didn’t even blink.“It’s a healing potion. You wanted her strong, didn’t you?”“So you lied?”“This isn’t some snake oil,” she replied coolly. “With our kind, anything can be magic. If I give her water, don't expect it to be the common one you drink,”Trent’s jaw tightened. He knew Timika was playing him. He hated being outmaneuvered but for Zora’s sake, he swallowed his pride and said nothing more. The room fell into a tense silence as they waited for the potion to take effect.A quiet rumble broke through.Zora’s stomach growled.Trent stiffened, snapping out of his brooding thoughts. He remembered—neither of them had eaten at the summit yesterday. He checked his watch: 6:00 AM. Too early for the kitchens to be ready. She needed something or anything to hold her over.Without a word, he strode to the fridge, opened it, and scanned the contents. Fruits. He grabbed an apple, washed it under the tap, and placed it on a tray. But then he paused.Frowning, he turned back, took the

Zora froze. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears as if trying to drown out the truth she’d just heard. “What do you mean, ‘erased’?” Her voice was barely above a whisper, tight with disbelief.Timika didn’t answer immediately. The silence was enough.Zora, clutching her head as if she could reach inside and find the missing pieces herself. “That’s why I don’t remember my parents. My childhood. Why does everything feel… wrong?” Her chest rose and fell in rapid bursts. “Someone did this to me. On purpose.”She looked up, her eyes glassy. “So there’s nothing you can do? No spell to fix this? To bring it all back?”Timika’s gaze darted to Alpha Trrent, watching his reaction; what Zora had said was forbidden in his pack. No one even dared to speak the word magic aloud. But Trent didn’t react. No anger. No warning glare. Only tenderness in the way he watched Zora, as if she was the only truth he believed in.Timika exhaled slowly. “There’s always a way,” she said at last. “But the cost… and

“This is the last time you’ll mention the word ‘mate,’” he growled, eyes flashing red.“The Mate…” Zora whispered. The word echoed in her mind. She had heard it countless times while drifting in and out of consciousness, and each time, she’d felt Trent’s pain. She remembered how his voice would falter whenever someone mentioned it, how it wounded him in ways she hadn’t understood until now.Her eyes widened. The realization hit: what she thought had been a dream wasn’t a dream at all. It was real. Every word, every tear, every whispered confession from Alpha Trent—it had all been real. The cold, ruthless Alpha had cared for her. He truly cared. She had felt it, even when she couldn’t lift a finger. He cried when she was gone. He confessed his love, not knowing if she’d ever come back or hear him.Tears slid silently down her cheeks as her eyes locked with Alpha Trent’s.For almost ten years, she had merely existed after she was found by Dane's family. No one had ever cared for her lik

Zora blinked slowly, her vision adjusting to the dim light. Her body ached, and every breath felt like a weight on her chest; she had lied on her rib. She shifted slightly, and pain shot through her ribs.Trent jolted fully upright, still holding her hand. “Zora?” His voice cracked. Her gaze found his. “Alpha Trent?” She whispered, hoarse and confused.Emotion swelled in his chest, You’re awake,” he breathed, brushing her hair away from her face.“Thank the Goddess. This is a miracle.”Zora tried to sit up but winced in pain. “What… happened?”“We went to Alpha's summit, and we were attacked,” he said, his throat tight. “You took a blade meant for me.”Her brows pulled together as the memory tried to surface; she recalled how she stupidly thought the attacker wouldn't harm her and came in between the stake.“I'm sorry for not being able to protect you; nothing of the sort will ever happen again.”“Let me call the doctor,” he said and scurried outside.Zora watched as his back disappear

Alpha Trent was quiet as Graham’s words rang in his ears. “Maybe she was raised to ruin you.”No. He wouldn’t believe that. It couldn't be true. “Don’t ever say something like that again,” Alpha Trent said, facing Graham. Graham could see how serious he was and cleared his throat before nodding. “Sorry, Alpha. I should have known my place,” he said. Trent held onto Zora, who was still lying motionless on the bed. His mind was racing as he thought of the doctor’s words. Her DNA was unique, something they hadn’t seen before. Her mind was intact, which meant that she wasn’t seriously hurt upstairs. So why wasn’t she healing? Why were her wounds still fresh? This wasn’t something that the doctors could heal. It was something more. He had to find some answers, but at the same time, he didn’t want to leave Zora’s side. He didn’t trust anybody else to look after her. He didn't leave for a second, and the doctor had taken her blood sample. He wasn’t going to let that happen again. “Z

Graham heaved a heavy sigh. He never wanted their alpha like this, Zora needed to be saved at all cost, but alpha Trent not taking the mate stuff serious. He swallowed hard and said, “Alpha… look at her. She’s fading. You want to save her? Then let’s find her mate. You know what that bond can do how it can share pain, and strengthen healing. If she wants you, she can reject her mate. That’s her choice. But right now, we’re running out of time.”Trent’s voice dropped to a near whisper. “She doesn’t even have a wolf. How do I find her mate?”Graham frowned. “How do you know she doesn’t?”“My wolf tried to reach hers. There was nothing. No response.” he replied, staring at her. Graham startled, he was stunned that Trent had found his wolf and he didn't tell anyone. “Wait—your wolf? That’s new. Hasn’t he been… distant for years?”“He came back. But even he couldn’t reach her. And neither could Argon. Compass couldn’t locate anything either.”“That is great, development, you could have sh
