SIENNA

I woke up earlier than usual, preparing myself as best I could. Not just in terms of clothes or appearance, but strengthening my mind and heart. At the dressing table, I stared at my own reflection. My hair flowed neatly down, the white shirt and black blazer I had chosen yesterday already fit snugly on my body. No flashy jewelry, only a simple watch. I wanted to look firm, neutral, and focused.

Liam came in wearing his black suit. He looked strikingly handsome, his gaze calm yet alert. When his eyes met mine, he offered a faint smile and clasped my hand tightly.

“Are you ready?”

I drew in a deep breath. “I have to be.”

He nodded. “Today, it won’t just be you speaking. I’ll be testifying as an expert witness as well. We’ll face them together.”

Liam’s car carried us through the morning streets. Outside, the city moved as usual people heading to work, children going to school unaware of the monumental event about to unfold.

I gazed out the window, memories flooding back. The chai

  • CRAVING THE ALPHA SURGEON   Chapter 95

Month after month passed in the blink of an eye. Two years. Two years filled with stories, struggles, and tears. Two years since the first time I walked into this hospital wearing a brand-new white coat, full of passion but also fear. And now, the day had come the last day of my medical clerkship, the last day of chasing time, writing endless reports, and learning to face patients and unpredictable emergencies.I looked at my white coat hanging on the rack. It was a little dull now, the edges slightly worn. There was an ink stain on the pocket and a coffee mark near the hem that never disappeared no matter how many times I washed it. But to me, every stain carried a memory.I held the coat tightly before putting it on for the last time. It felt like closing a big chapter of my life.In the mirror, I saw my reflection, Sienna, the girl who was once timid and full of fear, now staring back with steadier eyes. The scars of the past were still there, but I was no longer fragile. I had lea

That day, the air in the hospital felt different. It wasn’t as hot as usual almost as if everyone knew that something big was about to happen. I stared at my reflection in the lift’s mirrored wall as it slowly ascended to the ninth floor. My white coat was neat, my hair tied back in a low ponytail, yet there was something different in my eyes. The once-empty gaze now looked sharper, steadier.Today was the hospital’s internal hearing, held by the Medical Ethics Board. They had summoned me not as a victim, but as a professional witness to explain the scientific and toxicological aspects of the Silvermoon Toxin, the forbidden substance Ronny had used on me.When I first received the summons a few days ago, my hands trembled slightly. But I knew this was part of closure. I needed to face it with my head held high. When the elevator stopped and the doors opened, I stepped out. The large conference room at the end of the corridor was already crowded with board members, faculty representati

The next day, the sun felt brighter than usual, yet strangely my heart felt heavy. I had just arrived at the hospital when the news spread quickly from one mouth to another about Ronny and Kayla.“He’s really been expelled. Ronny’s been dropped out of the university, his license revoked, and he’ll never be able to become a doctor again.”I stopped, staring at the patient file I’d been studying.“Really?” I asked, even though I already knew the answer had to be true.Winda nodded. “Yes. The medical board’s decision came out this morning. They said his actions are unforgivable. He’s been sentenced to prison, and all his academic degrees have been annulled.”I fell silent. My breathing felt shallow. A part of me felt relieved. Yet somehow that feeling mixed with bitterness.Ronny, the man who had once been someone in my life, who once made me believe, who then dragged me into hell—Now he was ruined forever.I lowered my head. “What about Kayla?”“She only got two years. They say it’s be

After leaving the courthouse, it felt as though my feet no longer touched the ground. That grand building left a cold echo in my mind, Ronny’s face bowed without a trace of guilt, Kayla’s swollen eyes still managing to glance at me with what looked like regret… or maybe it was just an illusion. I didn’t know. Everything felt like a nightmare that hadn’t ended. The moment I opened the apartment door, a faint smell of antiseptic greeted me. Liam wasn’t home yet. The dining table was still neat, the living-room lamp glowing dimly. I set my bag on a chair, then let my body drop onto the sofa. Silence. Only the hum of the air conditioner and the tick of the wall clock were clearly audible.I looked at my palms the faint mark of an IV needle still visible there. The wound had healed, but every time I saw it, I could hear again the sound of chains around my wrists that night. My breathing quickened, and before I knew it, my eyes had begun to fill.I bit my lip hard, trying to hold back the t

Liam’s car moved slowly away from the courthouse, pushing past the swarm of reporters shouting questions. Their cameras flashed, microphones pressed against the car windows, but all of it was no more than the buzzing of mosquitoes in my ears loud, yet meaningless.I stared out the window. The trees lining the road blurred, swaying in the wind. My head felt empty, but my body was heavy, as though every cell carried the weight of the trial. Ronny’s face, Kayla’s gaze, the laughter that had once imprisoned me, all of it replayed in my mind.Liam gripped my hand tightly. “You’re trembling.”I shook my head. “I’m fine.”When we arrived home, I immediately slipped off my blazer and collapsed onto the sofa. A long breath left my lips, as if I could expel every trace of poison from my lungs.Liam sat beside me, loosening his tie. “You were incredible. I know how hard it was to relive all of that in front of everyone.”“I felt stripped bare. Everyone watching me, listening to the worst story o
