CHLOE

A FEW DAYS LATER

A groan escaped my lips when the alarm's annoying siren sound cut through the quiet air, waking me from the deep slumber. I wanted to sleep a little longer. I hesitantly tossed the warm blanket away, the cold breeze brushing against my skin which made me shiver uncontrollably. I lazily climbed from the bed then headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

The warm water was soothing against my skin and I couldn't help but close my eyes, enjoying the bath. The events of the past few days re-played in my head. It has been a busy week back at school. Senior year students are juggling through endless school work, which was a little bit overwhelming.

I have to admit that senior year is not a joke. Just like always, I minded my business back at school. However, there are some girls who are trying to be friends with me so that they can get close to Aaron. It was hard to remain anonymous like I have always been for the past year.

The relationship between Aaron and I ain't that perfect. However, it ain't that bad either. We’re trying our best to get along even though Aaron can't stop getting on my nerves sometimes. Our parents sat us down and we had a lengthy discussion. They told us that they understand pretty well William and Aaron are a rivalry team. However, we shouldn't allow the football rivalry to get between us because we're siblings. We listened to our parents and promised them that we’ll try our best to get along.

Today is the opening match of the football game and I’m so excited about it. Williams and I have been training so that he can sharpen his skills and I’m confident that he would win against the phantom. I asked my uncle for some tips since he's a football coach and he sent me a few clips. He didn't ask many questions because he knows my boyfriend is a football QB. I can't wait to get back at Aaron when my boyfriend wins the match. The corner of my lips curved into a smile when I envisioned the look on his face.

When I was done in the bathroom, I went back to my room, dressed up then headed to the dining room. Everyone was settled when I arrived.

“Good morning everyone,” I said with a smile, walked to the empty chair next to Aaron and sat down.

“Good morning…” They said in unison as though it was some sort of song. My mother flashed me a warm smile and I smiled back at her, Jacob did the same.

Aaron gave me a side look as I settled into the chair next to him. His strong cologne hit my nostrils. He was wearing a navy shirt and the sleeves were rolled up above his elbows. His black hair was brushed away from the face and styled nicely.

“Do I have something on my face?” Aaron asked, the corner of his lips curving into that annoying smirk.

I swallowed hard when I heard his words“I wasn't looking at you. I’m looking at the time.” I defended, raising my head slightly to look at the digital wall clock.

I turned my attention on breakfast, ignoring Aaron as though he didn't exist. I could feel his eyes on me from time to time throughout breakfast but pay him even a single glance…

When we were done eating breakfast, I bid my mother goodbye and we left for school.

Jacob dropped us at the school gate then headed to his workplace.

I was about to turn around and walk away. However, I stopped when I heard Aaron call my name.

“Chloe,” He called, his voice deep and a smirk played on the corner of his lips.

“Tell your boyfriend to bring his A-game today, sis. I'm not going to be easy on him."The smirk on his lips broadened even more.

I know fucking well what he was talking about! He was talking about the football game between the two teams.

“I think…you should follow your own advice. He won't be forgiving either!” I said sarcastically, the corner of my lips curling up into a smirk, matching his.

I turned around and walked away, leaving him standing at the same spot and I could tell that he was looking at me because I could feel his eyes at the back of my head.

I darted my eyes around and spotted Will. He was talking to a blondie and they looked so comfortable. They were laughing and the blondie touched him in a way that made me feel uneasy.

‘Stop being jealous Chloe!’ I scolded myself, burying the unsettling feeling at the back of my mind.

“Will?” I called, my lips curving into a smile. He stiffened, as though he wasn't expecting me to pop up from nowhere. However, he relaxed immediately then turned around.

“Chloe? I didn't know…you had already arrived. I have been looking for you”William said, a big smile spreading on his face.

“Oh, she's Chloe your trainer?” The blondie asked, looking me up and down. I turned to look at William with raised eyebrows.

“What is she talking about?” I asked, a deep frown taking over my features. The blondie was wearing a short white skirt with a black blouse which hugged her boobs tightly.

“Jane, what about we talk later?” William told the blondie and she nodded hesitantly, as though she wanted to hang around for a while. There was something about her that I couldn't quite wrap my finger around. Something strange.

“Good luck to you and your team. My friends and I will be cheering for the Falcon team.” She said, a big smile touching her lips. She turned around and walked away, swaying her little hips.

“What was that Will? Why did you tell her that I’m your trainer not your girlfriend?” I asked so that I could understand what the hell was going on.

"That's Jane, Chloe." William said, his voice a little too quick. "She always got something to say and she knows you help me with the drills, and...well, she's my mom's best friend daughter. Just ignore her." He briefly explained to me, his hold on my arm a little firm.

“ O-okay,” I nodded hesitantly, my lips curving into a smile. I didn't want to be an obsessive girlfriend who always follows her man around making assumptions. I decided to push the thoughts at the back of my mind.

“I hope you're ready for today's match.” I said happily, “ Of course I’m ready! I have the best training partner.” He said jokingly, wrapping his hand around my shoulder, pulling me into a side embrace…

**********************

I took a deep breath, trying my best to calm my racing heart.

“You need to calm down, Chloe. I’m pretty sure that William’s team will defeat Aaron's because you guys have been training harder than him.” Elara held my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. I turned my head to look at her, “Well, I’m trying my best.” I heaved a deep sigh, squeezing her hand a little bit harder, feeling nervous.

I turned to look at the field, spotting William among the players even though he was wearing a helmet. The referee was giving basic instructions to both teams before the start of the match. I darted my eyes on the players and I looked at Aaron. I didn't miss the grin on his lips.

The game started shortly, both teams charged and determined to win.

“Aaron!” Girls squealed behind me, their high pitched voices irritating.

Aaron’s lips curved into a smile behind the helmet and I could tell that he was enjoying the cheering a little bit too much. He grabbed the ball which one of his teammates threw at him, moving backwards in fluid movement, heading to the opponents. Even though I didn't want to admit it out loud, Aaron had some good skills.

“Heaven, he looks hot with the ball in his hands. He makes me want to be the ball so that he can hold me tightly the same way he's holding the ball.” I heard a girl giggle behind us.

“William!” Elara shouted, trying her best to cheer for my boyfriend. I know she was doing this to support me because it seemed like most girls who were sitting around us were cheering for Aaron.

“Will!” I screamed at the top of my lungs when my boyfriend got hold of the ball. I didn't care how students around us looked at me. It was just me cheering up my boyfriend. El joined me in cheering and I could tell that the Aaron fans were so mad…

The match continued and things were getting heated with each passing second. The QB of both teams were trying their best to balance the team, using their skills to the maximum. We could see the hostility between Aaron and William. The way they stared at each other with cold eyes, the way each of them showed their skills…

“Falcon! Falcon! Falcon!” The students shouted when the match was finally over. I couldn't believe my boyfriend's team had won. I have to admit that it wasn't easy but hell yeah!

We did it!

“I told you Will’s team will win!” Elara said happily, jumping and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back, feeling tears in my eyes but I pushed it back.

“He did it! We did it!” I said in excitement. I couldn't help it but imagine Aaron's face. I can't wait to get home and laugh at him.

“I need to go and congratulate my boyfriend!” I said happily after pulling away from the embrace.

“A kiss will be much better. Kindly extend my congratulations to him.” Elara joked and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

It's surprising how we got along well with Elara even though I’m a little bit older than her. She's eighteen like most of the students in senior year. Perhaps it's because she didn't behave childish like most of the girls of her age.

“Sorry…” I told the person that I bumped into as I squeezed through the crowd, looking for William. I’m pretty sure he's at the locker.

A big smile graced my lips when I finally entered the hallway, most of the players were searching through their lockers while some were discussing the match. I walked straight ahead to locker 238, William’s locker which was at the very end of the hallway.

“Will…” I called excitedly ready to hug him so tightly and give him a kiss. However, the smile on my face faded away by what I saw. Will was kissing a girl, his hands tightly wrapped around her slender waist. He looked startled, perhaps not expecting me. It was the same blondie from early this morning…

CHLOE A FEW MINUTES LATER “WELCOME TO WILLOW HIGH,” The words were written in bold. I inhaled deeply, bracing myself to face the first day of my senior year. The door to my side clicked open and to my surprise, it was Aaron who had opened for me. “Thank you,” I said, climbing down from the car. All eyes were on us, which made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. I know they weren't looking at me. They were looking at the famous green eyes QB of Phantom football team, Aaron Harrison. “Damn it, he looks hotter than the previous year.” I heard girls whisper amongst themselves. I almost burst into laughter but tried to keep my composure. To be honest, I didn't see the difference that they were talking about. Perhaps I was blind or…I need to get glasses. “He looks a little bit taller too. I think he has added an inch or two. He wasn't this tall,” Another girl giggled... “And who is she? I have never seen her. Is she his new girlfriend? She doesn't look like the type of girl that he

CHLOE It was quiet inside the dining room, everyone paying attention to their plates. I sipped on the coffee, savoring the taste as it travelled down my throat. Even though I didn't want to admit it out loud. The coffee tasted good, just the way I loved it. To be honest, I thought Aaron didn't know anything about kitchen but he just proved me wrong. Perhaps he knows more than I thought. The images of him making coffee effortlessly flashed in my mind. It seemed as though he was enjoying the coffee making process. I recalled the relaxed look on his face and everything in between. Aaron and I ended up preparing coffee for the whole family, as my mother and Jacob prepared the scrambled eggs and pancakes. I’m proud to say that now I know how to use the complicated espresso machine. I won't be needing Aaron's help anymore. I felt like squealing in excitement when I gave it a thought. However, I remained composed. “Do you like the coffee?” I almost choked on the coffee when Aaron'

“He wasn't supposed to taste the forbidden. However, he couldn't resist the temptation. As if one little bite wasn't enough, he craved for more. Why did the forbidden taste like heaven even though it was sin?” ************* CHLOE “Damn it! How does this work?” I mumbled under my breath, talking to no one in particular since I was all alone inside the grand kitchen. All I wanted was to prepare a cup of coffee to kick start the day because I know what's a waiting ahead needs a strong cup of coffee. It's the first day of my senior year. I won't lie. I felt a little bit nervous. “Am I supposed to press this button or…this.” I knitted my eyebrows, utterly confused. How I wished I could have brought our simple coffee maker with me. I have been trying to figure out how the complicated espresso machine works but… “Need some help?” I almost jumped when a deep voice pierced through the quiet air, startling me. Slowly,I turned my head towards the source of the voice and there he was
