CHLOE
A FEW MINUTES LATER “WELCOME TO WILLOW HIGH,” The words were written in bold. I inhaled deeply, bracing myself to face the first day of my senior year. The door to my side clicked open and to my surprise, it was Aaron who had opened for me. “Thank you,” I said, climbing down from the car. All eyes were on us, which made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. I know they weren't looking at me. They were looking at the famous green eyes QB of Phantom football team, Aaron Harrison. “Damn it, he looks hotter than the previous year.” I heard girls whisper amongst themselves. I almost burst into laughter but tried to keep my composure. To be honest, I didn't see the difference that they were talking about. Perhaps I was blind or…I need to get glasses. “He looks a little bit taller too. I think he has added an inch or two. He wasn't this tall,” Another girl giggled... “And who is she? I have never seen her. Is she his new girlfriend? She doesn't look like the type of girl that he hooks up with." I heard someone ask. I wasn't surprised that most of the students didn't know me because I always mind my own business. I know too well that I wasn't Aaron's type. I know he loves girls who wear clothes that are too revealing while I wear clothes that are not too revealing. Well, he wasn't my type either. ******* “Both of you be good kids, okay?” Jacob said, looking between me and Aaron. I nodded to his words, a small smile touching my lips. “In case of anything, don't hesitate to reach me. Do you understand, Chloe?”He asked in a calm voice, "Yes, uncle."I responded with a smile. I know Jacob was paying attention to me because he didn't want me to feel left out. He knows too well that I didn't grow up with a dad. However, he told me that he would try his best to be one to me. After saying our goodbyes, Jacob got inside the car and drove away immediately since he had important business to take care of. Heaving a deep sigh, I turned around, almost bumping into Aaron. “Careful, sis.” He warned, the corner of his lips curving into a smirk. I rolled my eyes, turned around and walked away. “Aaron, Aaron…” I heard girls call him but I wasn't surprised. Most of the students were gossiping, talking about what they did with their boyfriends during the holiday. Well, I didn't have that much to say so I decided to mind my business like I have always done. Sometimes I felt like I didn't belong here. Perhaps it's because I was a little bit older than most of the students. Many students were in their early teen years, most ranging from 15-18. I’m nineteen, older than most students. Aaron is eighteen like most of the students in our senior year. “Chloe!” Someone called my name and I didn't need to turn around to know who it was because I would recognise the voice even if I’m in a deep slumber. Turning around, I came face to face with Elara, my best friend. She was breathing heavily and I could tell that she ran to catch up with me. “When you told me that Aaron is your Stepbrother, I didn't believe you. But then a while ago I saw you alighting in the same car.” She said, trying to catch her breath. “Well, I think you believe me now.” I said teasingly and she laughed, “ I still don't!” She protested… Elara was denying the damn truth because she knows too well that I have never liked Aaron in the first place. As much as it was hard to believe, he was my Stepbrother and now we're living under the same roof. “Chloe?” A deep voice came from behind us and I took a sharp breath. God, I missed that voice so much. Even though we have been apart from each other for a few days. It felt as if it had been weeks. “William…”I said, my voice almost a whisper but loud for him to hear me. The corner of my lips curved into a smile and he smiled back at me. He walked to where I was, wrapping his hands around me so tightly and I couldn't help but hug him back. “I missed you so much!” I said, my grip around him tightening even more. I closed my eyes, forgetting about everything for a split second and basked in his embrace. It felt so good to be in his arms again. I have been looking forward to meeting him today. The reason why we hadn't seen each other is because I was adapting to changes of settling in a new place. However, we have been talking over the phone and chatting. When we pulled back, he pecked me on the lips. Elara cleared her throat and we both turned to look at her. “I think…we’ll see each other in mathematics class?” She told me and I nodded,“ I guess…” I teased, not looking so sure and she rolled her eyes. “William, please don't keep her too busy.” El joked, giving me a teasing look. “Maybe…just a little bit.” William joked back and we both laughed lightly. I loved that my best friend and boyfriend got along so well. El winked at me before walking away, giving us some privacy. “How have you been?” William asked in concern, “Good, just getting used to the new environment.” I said, shrugging slightly. “So it's true Aaron is your Stepbrother?” William asked and I could feel annoyance in his voice. I know how much they hated each other since they are rival teams. There was a time that they fought in the field during a football match, causing the cancellation of the match and they were both given detention as punishment. “I don't like him being around you. I think it would be better if you stay away from him, Chloe.” William said, I could see the worry in his eyes. I understand where he was coming from and I didn't blame him for feeling that way given the history between the two. William is a good guy. Even though he's eighteen years old and I’m a year older than him, he behaves maturely unlike most of the boys. I tried to tell him that I was a little older but he told me age is just a number, making me feel more comfortable being around him. “That makes the two of us. I don't like him either.” I said, looking in the crowd and spotted Aaron. He was kissing a blondie, grabbing a handful of her ass. Well, I wasn't that surprised considering his reputation. I turned my attention to my boyfriend. “You don't need to worry about anything. You know I love you.” I assured him and he nodded with a smile. "I know, just worried about you."My heart melted when I heard his words. He has always been caring towards me and that made me feel safe being around him. “ I think we have a way to deal with him,” The corner of my lips curved into a smirk, “And…what is it?” William asked with a raised eyebrow. “What we always do, win against his team! This time we will train much harder than usual to make sure that The Falcons team finishes the year unbeaten.” I suggested a smile spread across William’s face when he heard my words. I usually help him train because I know a few things about football since my uncle Kevin is a football coach. Most of the time, Williams team wins against Aaron. I think this year wouldn't be any different because William has been training during the holiday. “I think that is a good idea.” He said, his blue eyes shining brighter than before…CHLOE A FEW DAYS LATER A groan escaped my lips when the alarm's annoying siren sound cut through the quiet air, waking me from the deep slumber. I wanted to sleep a little longer. I hesitantly tossed the warm blanket away, the cold breeze brushing against my skin which made me shiver uncontrollably. I lazily climbed from the bed then headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower. The warm water was soothing against my skin and I couldn't help but close my eyes, enjoying the bath. The events of the past few days re-played in my head. It has been a busy week back at school. Senior year students are juggling through endless school work, which was a little bit overwhelming. I have to admit that senior year is not a joke. Just like always, I minded my business back at school. However, there are some girls who are trying to be friends with me so that they can get close to Aaron. It was hard to remain anonymous like I have always been for the past year. The relationship between

CHLOE It was quiet inside the dining room, everyone paying attention to their plates. I sipped on the coffee, savoring the taste as it travelled down my throat. Even though I didn't want to admit it out loud. The coffee tasted good, just the way I loved it. To be honest, I thought Aaron didn't know anything about kitchen but he just proved me wrong. Perhaps he knows more than I thought. The images of him making coffee effortlessly flashed in my mind. It seemed as though he was enjoying the coffee making process. I recalled the relaxed look on his face and everything in between. Aaron and I ended up preparing coffee for the whole family, as my mother and Jacob prepared the scrambled eggs and pancakes. I’m proud to say that now I know how to use the complicated espresso machine. I won't be needing Aaron's help anymore. I felt like squealing in excitement when I gave it a thought. However, I remained composed. “Do you like the coffee?” I almost choked on the coffee when Aaron'
“He wasn't supposed to taste the forbidden. However, he couldn't resist the temptation. As if one little bite wasn't enough, he craved for more. Why did the forbidden taste like heaven even though it was sin?” ************* CHLOE “Damn it! How does this work?” I mumbled under my breath, talking to no one in particular since I was all alone inside the grand kitchen. All I wanted was to prepare a cup of coffee to kick start the day because I know what's a waiting ahead needs a strong cup of coffee. It's the first day of my senior year. I won't lie. I felt a little bit nervous. “Am I supposed to press this button or…this.” I knitted my eyebrows, utterly confused. How I wished I could have brought our simple coffee maker with me. I have been trying to figure out how the complicated espresso machine works but… “Need some help?” I almost jumped when a deep voice pierced through the quiet air, startling me. Slowly,I turned my head towards the source of the voice and there he was
