Claire felt the world come to a stop as she continued staring at her mates with an awestruck expression. They didn't look surprised that they had one mate, they looked—dare she say—pleased.
Their golden eyes darkened to slits as they sniffed the air, breathing in her addictive scent. Slowly, like a predator planning to devour it's prey—they stalked towards her with determined steps.
Ashley gasped in astonishment, she had been watching the interaction between her best friend and the two Alphas for a while. And by the expression on Claire's face, she had come to the conclusion that they were indeed her best friend mates. But, how was that possible? She thought. In the whole history of werewolves, it has never been heard of to have more than one mate. The moon goddess had always blessed every werewolf with a mate. Witnessing this change in history for the first time was a total shock to her.
Claire's heartbeat quickened as her mates stood to their full height and started towards her. Their steps were slow and determined. Power was rolling off of them in waves, people cowered away from them in respect.
They weren't from her pack, that she knew, from their scent. It was different from her pack's scent.
Her knees threatened to buckle and it was all she could do not to tremble as they neared closer to her. Everyone's attention was now on them, some glaring at Claire in anger and disgust, their dance and night of fun long forgotten as they watched the twin Alphas stalk towards the omega of their pack.
Omegas were the lowest rank of werewolves, they were kicked out of the main parts and dumped in the secluded parts of the pack. They were treated like trash, and forced to work more than a normal werewolf should, and having no parents to fight for her when she got into trouble with the high ranked werewolves definitely made it worse. She was orphaned at a very young age. Her parents were killed by rogues who attacked the pack at the time. She's lived alone all her life, Ashley was the only closest thing to a family she had.
Claire had always hated the attention, she felt uncomfortable and embarrassed when she was the center of attention. But it was different this time, she didn't mind the attention one bit. She had always prayed for this day. The day she would finally meet her mate, now mates. It was a dream come true for her, everything around her was now a blur as she focused solely on the two handsome men stalking towards her.
“Mate.” Their deep voices boomed through the loud music making everyone gasp as the crowd started whispering. Her mates voice sent a pleasant shiver down her body. She had never felt this way before.
She glanced anxiously around the crowd, knowing her pack members would soon realize what was going on. And she tried not to cower away from their judging glares.
Her mates growled low in their throat, they didn't like the way their mate was being looked at. Like she was dirt. It was all they could do not to snarl at them.
Right from when they were taught about mates, they immediately wished to have one mate instead of two. They were popularly known for always sharing their women. The moon goddess finally granted their wish and they couldn't be more grateful.
Slowly, they took Claire's small hand in theirs. They raised it to their lips, and softly kissed it. Her body buzzed with adrenaline and her pulse quickened. As if they could feel that she wasn't comfortable with the attention.
“Come with us.”
Their order did a strange thing to her body. She felt compelled to follow their orders, this was a strange feeling to her but she loved every bit of it. She loved the thought of them controlling her, it was a strange feeling to her. Her best friend long forgotten, she followed her mates up the stairs and into the VIP room of the club.
Her heart was beating like crazy, both from excitement and nervousness. How was she supposed to act in front of her mates? Was she pretty enough to be their mate? After all she was an ordinary plain girl. Insecurities she'd been struggling with all her life were threatening to come to surface.
She didn't like the silence as they walked, so she decided to speak, “W-what's your name?” She silently cursed herself for stuttering.
“I'm Callan.” The one with the golden brown eyes and black curls spoke.
“Cameron.” The one with the golden eyes and dark brown curls added curtly. His voice lacked emotions, unlike his brother's who managed to show some sort of emotion.
“N-nice to meet you. I'm Claire.” She said shyly as her ear tinted pink. Callan's lips tugs into a devilish smirk as he takes her all in. The dress Ashley picked out for her did her no justice as the cold air hit her bare back. She hadn't thought that when she met her mate, she would be so shy to talk in front of them. Ashley had told her that when she met Jake, they immediately fell in love with each other.
Her case was different, she knew she wasn't in love with her mates yet, but she could already feel the mate bond connecting their souls together. She noticed how their presence made her feel safer than she's ever been in all her life.
“You don't have to be so nervous around us.” Callan whispered in my ear, his breath tickled her the baby hair on her neck. He was so close to her that the warmth of his body enveloped her, making her shudder.
“Is it that obvious?” She asked, slightly flustered.
“Kind of. In a way. You're our mate and we are bound to know whatever emotions you are feeling.” Callan explained. She nodded, wishing she knew what was going on in Cameron's mind right now. He was dead silent while Callan made conversations with her.
They finally stood in front of a large oakwood door. Cameron opened the door for them and they walked in.
Claire gasped.
Claire gasped as she entered the room. It was dark with dim lights. Loud music echoed through her eardrums. Her eyes immediately fell on the stage, a girl was on it, she was putting on a red silky dress, it had a split in the thigh. She had dark blonde hair, and a mask on her face only allowing her gray eyes to peek through. She moved her body slowly to the beat before dropping down and crawling towards the end of the stage. Men cheered and threw their money at her as she twirled on the long poll in the middle of the stage. The VIP lounge was less crowded and the air wasn't hot or stuffy. The men and women in the room were of high classes, she could tell that a few of them were alphas of different packs. Cameron and Callan took a seat on the couch in a much quiet place and gestured for her to do the same. She was sandwiched in between their muscular bodies. She tensed as she felt their body pressed against hers on the tiny couch, their close proximity was messing with her senses.
“So you're leaving us?” Ashley asked with a pout on her lips. It was the next morning after their night at the club and she had one more day before she left to her mates pack. Claire groaned in annoyance. “For the last time, Ash, I'm not leaving you. We will still get to see each other. It's not like I'm going to die or something.” Ashley didn't look convinced. “But how is it even possible that you have two mates?”She paused for a second, thinking about her friend's words. “I don't know, Ash.” She finally answered. Was the moon goddess playing some sort of trick on her? “And have you heard the rumors about the dark moon pack? They're said to be the most powerful pack in the world. I heard their Alphas are ruthless, they kill without even blinking. I'm worried for you, Claire.” Ashley's voice wobbled, concern written on her face. Claire shook her head not believing what she had said. “That's why it's called rumors, Ash. They might not even be true. Just some cooked up story to mak
After going for a run with her best friends for a couple of minutes. They went to Claire's house and helped her pack, Claire was sad at the fact that all her belongings only contained two suitcases. She never really had anything to call hers, except her clothes. While her best friends were in the room, Claire sneakily walked into her small bathroom and opened the cupboard. She took out a big book and all the accessories she's been keeping for years. She went back to her room, Ashley and Dax were so engrossed in a conversation that they didn't see her as she discreetly put them inside her traveling bag. She felt bad for hiding such a thing from her friends but she didn't have a choice. How could she possibly explain it to them? After a few more minutes, they were done. “You know what you have to do next, right?” Ashley asked with a grin. I groaned. “Yes I know. I need to go ask for the Alpha's permission to leave the pack.” Claire couldn't help but dread the upcoming conversation. A
Callan paced the study room as he ran his hand through his jet black hair. Their mate should have been here by now, and it was evening already and there was still no sign of her. His mind went frantic as different thoughts swarmed his head. Was she attacked on her way here? Did she get lost or something? He knew they should have brought her by themselves, and now he was regretting not doing so. “Calm down, will you?” Cameron said from across the room. “She will probably be here anytime soon.” Cameron tried to reassure, but Callan could still hear the worry in his tone. He was also worried about their mate. His brother rarely showed any sort of affection towards anyone but he could tell that Cameron already cared about their little mate. It's impossible not to immediately grow attached to your soul mate. “You know I can't calm down until I know she's safe. What if something happened on her way here? Fuck.” He muttered the last words under his breath. Cameron thought about the po
Pain. Anguish. Misery. Soreness. That's all Claire felt. The guards that were assigned to torture her walked out and locked the cell, leaving her all bruised and beaten. Her left eye was slightly swollen, she could tell from the soreness in it. Her clothes were torn as they stripped her of her dignity. Leaving her in only her underwear. Her back had long, deep slashes after being flogged. She lost count of how many times they whipped her after reaching thirty. Her pale skin had turned red. Her mind was numb as she curled herself into a dark corner of the cell that smelled of dried rotten blood. Her lips were trembling as tears streamed down her face, strands of her red hair blurred her vision. Her back stung as she choked on a sob. She's been locked in the cell for almost two days with little to no food. She could have easily escaped from the cell, the idea was really tempting, but she knew that was a risk she wasn't willing to take. If Alpha Darius or anyone should find out wh
Alpha Darius lay in a heap on the floor, he had been knocked unconscious. Bite marks and bruises littered his skin. Daxton walked into the cell, staring down at his father's condition. He hated his father so much but he couldn't bear seeing him in that condition. But, he knew his father deserved it, he had been violent towards his best friend and he would bear the consequences of his actions. He left there after ordering the guards to take him to the pack doctor, and he headed straight to Claire's house. They were currently in Claire's small house in their pack, Ashley was sitting on the little couch beside the window, her face was filled with dried tears. He watched as Claire's mates left her sleeping form on the bed and walked towards him, their jaw clenched. They stood firmly in front of him obviously trying to intimidate him, he wasn't scared of them per say. After all, he has alpha blood running through his veins. “I hope you are aware of the consequences of your father's acti
They were currently in front of Claire's house. Cameron had called for a driver from his pack. Claire gasped when she saw the beautiful car. She knew a little about cars and she could tell this was a brand new black Chevron suv 2022. The interiors were plush and the seats were well padded. A bulky man with a deep scowl on his face, came up to Claire and Ashley and took her bags from them. He dumped them unceremoniously in the car's trunk and went back to the driver's side. Cameron was speaking furiously on the phone, while Callan typed away on his phone. She honestly pitied anyone on the receiving end of the call. He wasn't talking to her but his voice sent shivers down her spine. Ashley slightly elbowed her and smirked knowingly, making Claire's cheeks tint pink. Claire's steps were wobbly as she walked so her mates had asked– scratch that– ordered her to sit inside the car, while they did whatever they were doing. “What do you mean he escaped?” Cameron asked calmly, his face cold
They arrived at the Dark moon pack half an hour later. Claire had woken up from her little nap, a few seconds ago. She watched the beautiful scenery as the car sped into the pack. The fields were glade-green. The sound of chirping chicks filled the air. She could see a group of kids playing around and some were curiously watching the tinted car. “Alpha, we are here.” Said the driver who she has yet to find out his name. Claire sat up straighter in her seat and allowed her eyes to wander out the window which landed on an enormous mansion. The house was ridiculously large for just two people. It was a three-storey building. The house was by trees, it was situated in a secluded part of the pack, away from everyone else. In Claire's pack their Alpha's house was next to the beta and gamma's house, but this pack was different. There were no other houses next to the Alphas house. “Do you need us to carry you in, Claire?” Claire was startled by Callan's voice. They were already out of the
