I watched Leonie closely, gauging her expression. She looked shocked by my request, but I had no option. She had to stay in the pack for a month so I can access her relationship with my son better.

It was definitely more than I had assumed at first, and I needed to be completely sure of my instincts. My son was loosing control of his reign, and if that were to continue, the result would be disastrous for us all, and I didn’t want that to happen.

I needed Gunnolf to be in his senses, and reign like he ought to. If he didn’t want my help, I would give it to him without an argument. I was his mother, and I knew what was good or bad for me. I will keep fighting for him till my last breath.

“Answer me, Leonie,” I said impatiently. “Will you stay here for a month or you want to remain in the cell for the rest of your life, at the peril of Alpha Gunnolf Royale,” I asked calmly.
