Aria’s POV

“Are you ready?” he asked me while I was just finishing packing the stuff I would need for our five-day travel.

“All done,” I answered. I didn't let him wait and just carried my luggage down the stairs. From now on, I will always keep in mind that I am working for him, that I am earning money to pretend that I am married to him. That I am only his contract wife. Because that's what I actually need to do.

To show people that I am a great wife. Nothing more and nothing less.

I went inside the car first and waited for him there.

I saw him in my peripheral view—he's not in the mood. He even slammed the door after he got in.

I didn't bother to ask him and just focused on my phone. When I opened it, there were a lot of messages. Even missed calls.

What does he really want from me? Why does he keep bothering me?

I read the messages, but they only made my day awful.
