The happiest song had been sung by birds as the morning had emerged with a fresh zest for life. In preparation for the day, the flower garden had blossomed. Winter began, so it was a little cold but the day was beautiful.

A small, lovely woman moved her body on a large queen bed while groans escaped her mouth. She gradually opened her eyes. She noticed the white roof as her blurry vision began to fade. Her gaze was drawn to the light coming in through the bay window.

She raised her hand and touched her face in bafflement. She mumbled, “Am I alive?”

“How can I let you die?” Alexander's sudden voice jolted Bella's heart from her ribcage. She looked at the door and saw him standing there with a glass of water.
