Chapter Thirty-Four

The energy was different.

  It was in the tiny giggles, the abashed looks they shared, the longing in his eyes, the way she would bite her lips when she noticed him staring and look away…the change in her scent.

  Caleb studied Roy and Kylie, for what would seem, an unhealthy amount of time. Perhaps, it was his own way of living through his friend; he was genuinely happy for the solidifying of Roy’s relationship with Kylie, of the three ladies, he was certain Roy had gotten the most malleable, and all the latest events showed, was that he had been right.

 He wondered if anyone else noticed.

  “Did you two mate?” Rinaldi blurted out suddenly, cutting off Cassandra, who had only began to mention to Kylie how much she was glowing.

  The ensuing silence in the room, was thick with unspoken words, as everyone turned to Rinaldi first, and then, to Kylie, before Roy. Kylie blushed heavily, as
