Chapter Thirty-Five

The last time she had been within the walls of the Duncan Compound, their Alpha had been distraught, frazzled and desperate.

  In this moment, he was none of the three emotions she had most felt coming off him, that day she found him hovering over a smaller woman, his usually completed self, a horrible mess. Still, she could sense how troubled he was, his eyes betrayed his worry.

  Magnolia had expected this; for anyone to go through the things she had seen in Cassandra's mind, would mean they were bound to be greatly disturbed by it. At the time she cared for her though, her sole concern had been to heal the body. Normally, the fact that she was now a werewolf would have allowed her mind heal more easily, werewolves had formidable minds, the likes of which humans couldn't possess. However, the manner of her turning had ensured that such would not necessarily remain true for Cassandra's wolf.
