“You’re playing a dangerous game, Kitten,” he warned, his eyes cold as he watched her hand slowly trace his exposed abs. The corner of her lips quirked up, and then she leaned forward, stuck out her tongue, and then lapped at his ear slowly and sensually. In a split second, she was flipped over and then pinned to the wall. “You asked for this, Kitten.” His emotionless face finally changed as he revealed a scorching gaze that surprised her. She wanted to protest, but it became a gasp when she realized his hand had crept beneath her gown. His hand began to move, and her gasp soon changed into moans. His other hand had never let her neck go as he squeezed tighter. “That’s right! That is what I want to hear. Since you asked for it, I’ll make you moan till your voice is no more and you have reached your limit. Even then, I won’t stop.” Jasmine was plus-sized, but she was happy because she had a fiance who she believed loved her, a step-sister who could die for her, and loved ones who treated her like a princess. Well, that all changes when her fiancee dumps her at the altar after body shaming and scamming her of all she had. To worsen things, she finds him in bed with her step-sister. Left with no one, as even those she believed to be her loved ones deserted her, she supposedly committed suicide. Three years later, she turns up at her step-sister’s and ex-fiance’s wedding, looking astonishingly different. As if that weren’t enough shock, she suddenly declares that she isn’t back for her ex-fiancee but his gorgeous hunk of a father. And to their utter disbelief, he accepts her proposal.

Where was my husband to be?
I was in my pure, beautiful wedding dress and felt ashamed in front of the priest's questioning eyes.
Everyone was waiting for Jake to arrive with the rings he had claimed he wanted to pick up, but he never showed up, and the fear that he wasn't going to was beginning to taunt me.
"Ava, is there something I should know? The guests are beginning to get tired," the minister asked discreetly. No one needed to tell me; it had been over four hours. It was funny, especially since my stepmom seemed so calm, and surprisingly, Gwen, my step-sister, was absent.
That's when Sarah gasped and brought my phone.
"Is that Jake?"
Looking at her eyes, my heart fell before I took steps backward. "What is it saying, Sarah?" I heard my stepmom yell, and the others around her seemed to concur.
"Jake won't be coming here," she shakily said, gasps filling the hall; while still shaking, I snatched the phone from her hand and called him.
"Jasmine baby... Please don't tell me you are still there?" Jake asked as if he didn't have our wedding to be present before anything with a familiar voice in the background.
"Wait, you thought I was going to get married to FAT PIG like you?" he burst into laughter; my hands trembled as I clutched the phone, and slowly, the tears dropped down my eyes. "Jake? Are you okay?"
"What is going on?" I whispered in confusion while holding back my sobs.
"You're a fool for thinking I'd ever marry you," his voice sneered on the other end.
"You're nothing but a pathetic, clingy, desperate—"
"Jake, please, not today or now? I would do anything," I pleaded, falling to my knees.
"No, look at yourself in the nearest mirror. The dress you are wearing now doesn't even fit, and you want to compress me like you have compressed your belly rolls… not happening!"
"It's over. I'm done with you, and don't even bother trying to reach me."
The line went dead, leaving me stunned and humiliated.
Upon looking up, I could see everyone's pitiful stare, making me realize they had heard my call.
As Jake's words rang in, the room began to spin as I realized the truth: she'd been stood up, rejected, and betrayed. It was funny how it had been a day after I signed everything for him.
The guests' murmurs grew louder, their faces filled with pity and curiosity.
He had no right to do that to me!
With tears rolling down my eyes, I stood and heard a tear. Without caring which part of the gown had torn, I fled the altar, Sarah calling after me.
"Take me to Jake's place," I ordered my driver. Jake couldn't do this to me—at least not after making me wait five years of my life, then pampering me with love talks and singing about how he didn't care about my weight.
I looked like a mess. I could feel my mascara and mascara become smoggy because of how messy I was crying, but I didn't care!
Was this his surprise?
Jake was a monster to have done this to me!
It's incredible that after signing over my mom's company to him yesterday, I paid for the home we were to live in with him as the sole signatory and then borrowed money for the car he bought.
I had reduced myself to nothing for him. What did he do?
Dump me on our wedding day!
As I walked into the house we were both supposed to enter today, the dirt word he had called me over the phone kept ringing. Something was wrong….
Jake had never been like that, and I am confident he loved me. I dragged my dirty gown inside as so many good memories caused more tears.
There was no way; he was in his right state of mind.
I mean, he loved me. A loud giggle caused me to pause. I was sure that that voice sounded so family, and I prayed it wasn't what my heart was already screaming at me.
My heart began thumping so loud I feared he heard.
"She would be so broken, and you can't imagine how much I would kill to see her break," Jim mocked as I approached the door.
"How she could think she would end up with me…We are opposites, and to think that without me asking, she had handed me everything I wanted on a fucking platter of GOLD!"
"You did good, baby; I never knew she was so ignorant… losing her mom's property because you merely said you loved her?" a very familiar voice moved, and I almost lost my flooring as my heart missed a beat.
What was this I was hearing?
"My ignorant and, I have to say, foolish step-sister would probably be…"
"Gwen?!"
"Jake?! What the fuck is going on?"
As soon as their eyes met mine, they burst into laughter, and I felt my whole world crumble around me as their cruel laughter echoed in my ears. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, my breath knocked out of me. The insults cut deep, each word a razor-sharp blade slicing through my heart.
"Why?" I begged, my voice shaking with tears. "Why are you doing this to me?"
Jake sneered, his eyes glinting with hate—an emotion he had never shown me. "You're just so gullible, Yas. You thought I loved you? Ha! You were just a means to an end—a way to get your money and your house."
Gwen snickered, her voice dripping with venom. "And you're so fat and ugly, no one else would ever want you, not even your mother did." My heart shattered into a million pieces, and I felt like she was drowning in a sea of despair. How could they be so cruel?
Jake's voice cut through my thoughts, his words like a death sentence. "Pack your things, Jasmine. You're no longer welcome in this house. You signed everything over to me, remember? You're nothing now."
My eyes widened in horror. I had trusted and loved Jake, and he was betraying me in the worst possible way.
"I will help her to the door, baby; I already packed up her clothes and disposed of the rest that looked like rags." Jake laughed and spanked her, causing her to giggle almost as though I wasn't there.
As she walked past me, she leaned in and whispered, "You deserve this bitch!"
The reality hit me as I rushed to him before falling down unceremoniously, "I can't do without you; I would die... please don't do this to me!" I sobbed harder, but his following words had me stunned, "Then DIE bitch!"
I let her drag me down the stairs and push me out of the gate of MY HOUSE!
Outside, the rain poured, mirroring the storm inside my heart. I stood at the side of the road with my thumb raised in a desperate escape bid as the rain soaked through my gown, which I was supposed to wed in.
Tears mingled with raindrops on my face as I cried out my pain and betrayal. The universe seemed to be conspiring against her, mocking me with cruelty.
Finally, a car stopped, and I stumbled in, but as I arrived at my parents' home, I was met with a slammed door and a hail of insults.
"You won't be entering this house, Jasmine," my stepmom yelled while standing at the door.
"Please... Today..."
"It has been nothing but an embarrassment, and it is all because you are so stubborn... Your dad asked you to make him the signatory, but you... you had to make us go through Jake."
"You're a disappointment!" The tears flowed down as I didn't dare raise my head; all I could hear were their words, each forming a heap.
"You're a failure, Jasmine!" my father's voice boomed, and without saying anything, he left me still standing under the rain.
My stepmom's voice said, "You're just like your mom, always making poor choices!"
"Gwen had always been his; you were just too blind. In case they did tell you, she is pregnant! So you should go far away to where you blog, the gutters, or better still, die! The world would be a better place."
My fragile heart, already shattered by Jake's betrayal, was further crushed by my parent's rejection. The people who should have loved and supported her unconditionally instead chose to inflict more pain.
With their thoughts ringing repeatedly, I found myself standing at the edge of the bridge. The river below seemed to call to me.
A disappointment
Gwen pregnancy!
Fat Pig!
Pathetic! Clingy!
Those words made jumping seem much more effortless. I did nothing to deserve this level of embarrassment and betrayal.
DIE BITCH!!. These words kept chanting in my head.
Without hesitation, I jumped, the onlookers' screams and shouts fading into the distance as I plummeted towards the water. The impact was swift, the river's icy embrace enveloping me.
I felt a sense of peace as the water closed over my head.
"Jasmine..." I heard someone call, but it was too late; I chose this darkness.
Jasmine's POV.Life had been good, especially after my step-sister, who had gone to change her face through plastic surgery and pretended to be another person so that she could just get closer to Mr blackwood and get rid of him, was thrown behind bars. Cross and Donovan, who were also working together, had infinite jail sentences. My stepmom was also caught while she was trying to cross the country and flung behind bars too. It made me happy that everything was finally falling into place. I wouldn't have been able to achieve all of this if Mr blackwood and I hadn't devised a means of catching this person in their traps. He walked in with my son on his shoulders. "You must be so happy to see your mother." He said and my son mewled despite not understanding a word his father said. "Hey baby, what are you doing up here alone? Your baby has pooped."I raised a brow, "so he is suddenly my baby and not yours?" I inquired, waiting for his response so that I knew how to answer him appropr
Jasmine's POV. "Exactly what you predicted is already coming to pass." Mr blackwood spoke into my ear causing me to be startled. Wasn't expecting him to show up anytime soon. "What is that?" I inquired from him after he kissed me. "How was work today?"He grinned like a Cheshire cat. "What?" I inquired again when he kept on grinning. "You are amazing. How would I have coped without you in my life?" He said sweetly. Now, whenever he started to praise me, I knew that there was a caveat attached. "Are you serious?" "Of course I am. You are the best thing that has happened to me in a long while. I don't think anyone has come close though." He replied and I smiled at him softly. He had a mission and I also wanted to find out. "I'm happy to announce to you that our suspicions were right." He said and I smiled at him. "I know what you are about to ask. You are about to ask what we are waiting for." "That's right! I thought we were supposed to prosecute immediately if we had substanti
Jasmine's POV. "We should go over to that aisle." Mr blackwood suggested which I decided to take. The usual brand of chocolate I loved to eat wasn't here. I didn't want to start searching for it in various stores. "Jasmine? Is that you, Jasmine?" A voice called and I turned. Squinting to see the face of the person who called my name. I recognized Cross. "Cross?" I asked the first time and he smiled. I could never forget that smile. "In flesh and blood." He said while stretching his arm and turning 360. "I thought you would never remember my face again. It's been what? Almost a decade. Wow, you look so beautiful. I can't almost imagine that you are standing before me. It's not supposed to be a bad thing but you understand what I mean. I am very... I guess what I'm saying is that you are beautiful. It's nice to run into you after a long while too." He said with a polite smile.I glanced at his ears. They were always long; I guess some things never changed, no matter if we filled th
Jasmine POV. Three months later, "Will you be done anytime soon I need to get out of this house before it's too late," I called from the doorway when Mr Blackwood was still washing up. He woke up late today. I had a meeting with GText Holdings and I needed to honor that invitation. I had chased this deal for a long time now, allowing it to slip off my fingers due to carelessness was the last thing I wanted in my life."You can go ahead I might not be joining you in the car today. I also want to speak to a few investors who have signified interests. When we are done we can converge at the store later today.” He also called from inside the bathroom. With everything that was being done, I was no longer feeling like something was missing. I knew that whatever I was looking for Mr blackwood was going to provide. It didn't necessarily mean money because both of us were well off. My heart kept flickering to Gwen and my stepmom. It seemed like they disappeared from the face of the Earth
Jasmine's POV. "With all the pieces of evidence before me, this is my judgment..." The judge said, and I held my breath. This was coming to be the determining factor of whether or not my father was going to get Justice. "I would have to permit Mrs Bailey on the grounds of bail. Although the evidence points to her as having some grudges against her husband, we cannot just convict somebody simply because of what another said." He replied, making me angry. There was no way he had not been bribed because the way he was something the case. "if you are not satisfied with my judgment you can seek redress." He said while looking directly into my eyes. I was going to seek one, "you permit a murderer to walk about simply because you have been paid?" I confronted him. He wasn't also above the law, so whenever things were not going the way they should, I had every right to confront him about it. "Do not think that I don't see everything that is going on here. You are only trying to wave atte
Jasmine's POV. Two weeks later, We were before the judge in the city Court and everyone kept on looking from her to me. "We begin this trial between Miss Jasmine and Miss Bailey because she, Miss Jasmine, feels that her stepmother might have a hand in her father's death." The court clerk said. I waited patiently for my turn. They all knew that I wasn't hasty when it came to situations like this as long as I knew what I was doing. My legal representative, barrister Lawson, stood beside me with a smile on his face, and that fueled my confidence in this case. "Barrister Lawson will be representing Miss Jasmine, while Barrister Damien will be representing Mrs. Bailey." The court clerk announced again. I wasn't worried about their announcements because I knew what I wanted to achieve. They could deceive everyone but not me. As long as I got my answers right, they would regret ever crossing me in their entire lives. That was exactly how I was going to play this game. "Do you swear th
Jasmine's POV. Drum rolls, now this was getting pretty interesting. "This is the joke of the century." Jake took the words out of my mouth but I knew that there was every tendency for this information to be true. Mr Blackwood stood with his hands akimbo, brooking no arguments. He wasn't going to repeat himself. "Exactly what you heard me say. I have tolerated your excesses and that's one of the reasons you have refused to learn your lessons. You would keep on going back and forth simply because you cannot take a rejection. Nothing is going to make me take you back into my company. I will send for DNA testing, and we will confirm the paternity if that's what you want." He said. Whoa, this was greater than I could ever imagine. Who would have thought that there was something fishy in this house and even Jake never knew this? Jake laughed warily. "you must be kidding. How can you tell me after all these years that you are not my father? Is this a way of you getting out of your respo
Jasmine's POV."You must be kidding me. Tell Jake to get off my property if he doesn't want me to descend on him. I built it with my sweat and blood, he doesn't have a part in it. The earlier he understands this the better for him." Mr Blackwood fired at the person on the other end of the phone. I was interested in knowing what was going on again. Was Jake still planning his shenanigans? I thought he had stopped all of this nonsense. Why, then, was he still making everyone edgy?""Is everything okay?" Mr. Blackwood looked up like he just remembered I was present. "Seriously, can you be on your own for a while, while I take care of something? I need to teach that bastard a lesson that he would never forget things his entire life. I do not want to stress you because I understand what is going on. I will drive you home if you want then go to the meeting." He explained yet I still didn't understand where he was coming from. I needed him to tell me more about Jake. "I'm coming with you
Jasmine's POV. Even the blind could tell that this was nothing but a lie, but I didn't want to talk about it. I was also careful with my words, but I didn't manage to land myself in trouble that I wouldn't be able to explain. If she said it was because she was looking for a way for my father's health, then I just needed to act like I believed which we both knew was a huge lie. I wasn't going to allow anyone to get to me when I could just stay away and pretend like I never heard from her.Mr Blackwood glanced in my direction to be sure that I wasn't going to go off. I smiled at him instead. These people were going to pay heavily for trying me. They wanted it to look like I was the problematic person when, in fact, they refused to do the right thing. It wasn't every time that one would engage such people. "My bad. I didn't know that you were so invested in my father's business; trust me, I would not have spoken to you in that manner." I pretended. My stepmother knew that I was only
