“Who are those people we saw at Benny's? What history do you have with them?” Why did I just ask that?

She was shell shocked.

She totally didn't see that coming.

I don't even have the right to throw that question in her face right now. I've never prodded her for it; just that once I asked her about it and I've never asked again, so why the hell did I have to bring it up now.

I'm such a díckhead.

I'm not even as angry as I let her believe and I just had to throw that stupid question in.

I don't totally feel bad about asking her the question though because if I didn't put something harsh out there for her to wallow in, she'll want to know about Jack– the realtor I had a meeting with at the fare.
