The more he got closer to her, the more she felt afraid. Kenny pulled her towards him before starting to kiss her allover.
"Go away," she shouted as she tried to push him. Kenny did not pay attention to her words as he pushed her towards the big bed. She could not manage to get rid of him. "Look at you, your body wants me so much and you are pretending that you want to divorce me," he said. Kenny ripped off her clothes and got on top of her doing what made him happy. Natasha continued crying bitterly not able to fight against him given the fact that Kenny was a strong man and she was just a weak woman. One hour later, Kenny got out of bed and started putting on his clothes which were scattered allover the floor. Natasha was still lying on the bed facing the wall. She felt sad and she was at the lowest point on her life and she didn't want him to see her face. Kenny's phone rang and he quickly picked it up. “Dr Moran?" he spoke." Mr. Kenny, madam Sophia has just woken up from the coma," the doctor said. "Are you sure?....Is she awake? I'll be there right away," he said excitedly before ending the call. Kenny looked at her with disgust, “You are too lucky that she is awake, ," he said he said as he buttoned up his shirt buttons. "Sign the divorce papers before you leave," Natasha told him. "Do you think I need you so much now? You are no longer of any use or importance to me," he said as he picked the piece of paper. He took a pen from the bedside table before signing his name on the right bottom side of the paper. He then threw it to her. " I will leave this house to you as a payment of wasting your two years here, after all you don't have anywhere to go," he said. "Am not in need of your house nor money, Mr. Kenny," she said with her head high. Kenny picked his car keys without responding to her and quickly left the house. Natasha stood at the same position as she heard the car leaving the compound. She had wished for love and doting from Kenny forever but she never expected that it was going to end just like that. She had persevered for a while thinking that things would take a good direction but all her dreams had just died like that. She had stayed in a marriage for two years most of which,as a single person. She fell on the ground as she cried bitterly. The two years marriage had just ended like that and she knew that she will never see him again. Natasha wished that she could be Sophia who was able to capture his heart. After crying for almost ten minutes, she wiped her tears then promised herself that she would never cry for him again. She took her bag and started parking her clothes that could be counted with fingers. She walked around the house one more time knowing that she would never be back at that place again. She dragged her bag towards the living room where she met Kenny. "Is he already back? Has he come to beg me not to leave?" she thought but all her hopes were shuttered. "Where is she going baby?" Natasha heard a female voice behind him. She looked at the direction of the voice only to see the girl she never wanted to see. She could already guess that the girl must be Sophia, the one she has been donating blood to for the past two years. "Where are you going? I said that this house belongs to you," he said. "Don't you have ears Mr. Kenny? I told you that I don't want anything from you," she said. Sophia looked at Natasha with hatred. She knew that Kenny liked that house very much and she did not expect him to gift it to her. "Why did you give her our house? She has enjoyed too much luxury for the past two years," she said. Natasha looked at her as she smiled. “Madam Sophia, if I knew that my blood was being given to you, I would never allow it, I would rather donate it to dogs and let you die," she said. "Kenny, did you here her? Her father is the one who made me to be in this state," she said crying. "Enough with your drama Natasha, just leave," he said. "Mr. Kenny and your lovely girl, am leaving and I wish both of you well," she said. By the time she finished her sentence, Natasha realized that Kenny had already gone upstairs. Sophia turned to her and smiled widely. “Lowly girl, did you think that you will get my position forever? I knew you just wished that I die so that you will always be his wife," she said. "Am glad that I was his wife for two years, but what about you? he is not even engaged to you,"she said as she got out of the door and slammed it. Natasha tried as much as she could to stay calm and hide her emotions from Sophia. She was the lady person that she would want to see her vulnerability. She felt like she had lost this time, she completely lost it to Sophia and the man she thought she would always have now belonged to the lady who was just mocking her. But what about Kenny? Wasn't he the one supposed to be defending here? Even if it was just a little? He hadnt even listened to her nor begged her to stay, all he thought about was the wellbeing of Sophia. She paused at the door, wanted to look back but something within her told her not to. She had made a decision and there was no going back.Kenny’s mother walked in and closed the door behind her. “Soohia, that’s not how a daughter-in-law of the Dawson family should behave,” she said gently but firmly. “You shouldn’t have walked out of the party like that. People will talk about us negatively. Do you know you made things worse?”Sophia turned to her, her voice shaking. “What was I supposed to do? Stay there and smile like nothing happened while my husband embarrassed me in front of everyone? What did I do to deserve that?”Kenny’s mother moved closer and touched her shoulder lightly. “Calm down, Sophia. We will fix everything. You just need to be strong. You’re carrying his child, remember?”Sophia sat down, wiping her tears. She was shaking. “He doesn’t care about that.”Kenny’s mother sat beside her. “But what did he mean when he said you two were not legally married?”Before Sophia could say anything, the front door opened again. Kenny walked in slowly, his face calm but serious. He looked at the two women, then sai
The following morning, Kenny woke up early and left the house without saying much to anyone. He drove straight to his grandfather’s house. As soon as he entered the gate, a smile formed on his face. That place always gave him peace the warmth, and family. The old man was seated outside on his usual rattan chair under the big tree in the compound, sipping his tea while enjoying the slight breeze. The moment he saw Kenny walking out of his car, he stood up slowly with a big smile on his face.“There you are, I was just about to call you!” the old man said.Kenny walked up to him and hugged him tightly. “I missed you, grandpa,” he said.“I missed you, too, boy,” the old man said, patting his back. “The dark marks are fading away really quickly, and you have added some weight,” he joked, making Kenny laugh. They both sat down under the tree.“So, how are things going? How is everything at home?” the old man said, settling into his chair, Kenny sighed. “It’s okay, grandpa, maybe complicat
Kenny still remained silent. Kenny’s mother cleared her throat and sat up straight. No one could tell that she was such a big pretender from the expression on her face.“Kenny, I just want to say how happy I am that you’re back,” she began." I have been looking for you, but you were nowhere to be seen." “Those eight months were the hardest time of my life. When I heard about the accident, I thought I had lost you forever.”Her voice broke a little, and she reached for a handkerchief from her bag. She wiped her eyes slowly, like someone truly emotional. Kenny sat there watching her, his face calm. Deep inside, he knew she was pretending. She was very excited when she heard he was dead, and she hoped he would come back again. Kenny knew it. She kept talking.“But even when you were missing, I still had hope because your child is growing inside Sophia. I told myself that at least I would still have a part of Kenny with me. That’s what gave me the strength to keep going.”Sophia shif
After getting home, Kenny opened the front door of his house and walked in slowly. The living room lights were still on, and Sophia was there on the couch, seated upright, her legs crossed, staring at the TV. She looked like the owner of the house, and nothing bothered her at all. Kenny didn’t say a word or look in her direction. He removed his shoes near the door and walked past her. Sophia turned her head slightly to look at him, but she didn’t speak. She just watched him walk up the stairs and disappear. Kenny entered his room, closed the door, and leaned against it for a second. He let out a long, tired breath, then walked to the wardrobe, took off his formal clothes, and changed into a plain white t-shirt and a pair of soft grey sweatpants. He sat on the couch beside the bed, elbows on his knees, and his hands rubbing his face slowly. Natafa's sweet face was still fresh in his mind. He imagined how sweet it would be if she were the one waiting for him in the living room ins
Still, she couldn’t forget that moment when they were so close. The way he told her to be careful wasn’t fake. She could see it in his eyes. He cared about her. But what did that mean now?She lay back on the bed and covered her eyes with her arm. “I can’t let this happen again,” she whispered to herself, “I just can’t. He betrayed me with another woman."Meanwhile, Kenny sat still in the car for a while, staring at the hotel door where Natasha had just walked in. His hand was still on the steering wheel, but his mind was not with him. He could still feel the softness of her lips. He hadn't planned to kiss her, but he couldn’t help it. The moment felt right, and his heart had taken over.He leaned back in his seat and sighed deeply. "What did I just do?” he whispered to himself. He rubbed his hand over his face, trying to calm his thoughts. He knew Natasha was angry, and she had every right to be. He had hurt her before, and even though he had his reasons, he could never erase the p
Kenny went silent, he didn’t ask any more questions after she said those painful words. He kept his eyes on the road, his hands firm on the steering wheel. Deep inside his heart, he felt a mix of emotions. He wanted to ask more, to know what was going on in her life, who Jasper really was, and if she still thought of him, but he held himself back, he didn’t want to push her too far. In the front passenger seat, Natasha shifted in her seat slightly. Her fingers played with the edge of the blanket he had given her. She was quiet, but her mind was full of guilt. She thought that maybe she had been too harsh with her words. After all, he had saved her. He didn’t have to, but he did it, and instead of her thanking him, she said mean words to him. She sighed, still wondering if he was angry now or just hurt. She turned her head slowly and threw a side glance at him, just to see how he was reacting. But the moment her eyes landed on him, she froze. He was already looking at her.Their e
