Chapter 3
Sophia stood at the same spot as hatred filled her heart. The words that Natasha said felt as a knife cutting through her flesh. It was true that Natasha was better than her because she got married to Kenny and spent the whole two years together.
What about here? Kenny hadn't even dared to touch her. He wasn't engaged to her and he had never told her that he had any romantic feelings for her. But atleast , the Natasha she hated was now gone, and she would have Kenny all by herself. She would use her charms to make him hers. She really needed to work very hard to marry Kenny. If not marriage then she had to ask Kenny's mother to ask Kenny to get engaged to her as they prepare for a grand wedding. Kenny's mother, Mrs. Polaris was always there for her and she greatly supporting the relationship between her and Kenny. Sophia knew that she would always count on her and if she asked for her help, Mrs Polaris wouldn't hesitate to offer any kind of help that she needed. Kenny came back to the living room only to realize that Natasha was not there. “Where is she?" he asked while his eyes scanned the room. "Who are you asking about?" Sophia asked pretending as if she didn't understood what he was talking about. "Stop acting dump, where is Natasha?" he shouted .His loud voice made her tremble since she had never expected him to shout at her. "She left," she quickly responded making sure that she doesn't make him more mad. "Where is she? why did you allow her to leave?" he asked as he quickly picked his car keys. "Where are you going Kenny?" Sophia asked knowing that he was planning to go find Natasha. "I can't let her be outside there alone, it's so cold outside," he said. "Kenny, why should that bother you? I have been in a coma for two years and now am awake so we should spent more time together," she said. Kenny looked at her then opened the door and left without saying a word. Sophia was left there standing at the spot not believing that he really left. She felt hatred for Natasha. Kenny drove his car out of the compound and followed the direction that his instincts told him that Natasha was. At a distance he could see a figure dragging her luggage lazily. He realized that she was wiping her tears as she walked with her head bowed low. She looked afraid and worried and he was the one who had made her to be in that state. The sight made him feel bitter in his heart. He stopped his car at the side of the road looking at her. The moment he wanted to get out of his car, he received a call and he quickly picked it up. Seeing his mother's call, he knew that something must have happened. It was very unusual for his mother to call him at such a time. "Mum?" he spoke. “Kenny, where are you?" he heard Polaris' voice. "Mum, is there a problem?" Kenny asked again. " If you are busy I won't bother you, we are heading to the hospital," Polaris said. "Mum, am not that busy, what is wrong?" "Sophia fainted and we are rushing her to the hospital," she explained. "I'll be there in a minute," he said then ended the call. He quickly went to his call logs and dialed another number which was picked almost immediately ."Bro, she is at Ladies road heading towards town, go find her please," he said before ending the call. Knowing that she would be safe in his hands he turned to look at her again. He then turned his car and drove directly to the hospital. Throughout the journey, Kenny could not control the heaviness in his heart. Seeing her in that state was the last thing he wanted to see but sometimes things do happen that one could not control. He knew that she had suffered a alot and he had no other way to protect her. Sending her out of his house was the best kind of protection that he could offer to her. Along Ladies Road, Natasha pulled her luggage as she wiped her tears. She closed her eyes then opened them and when she looked at the back ,she saw Kenny's car driving away." “ Am I just seeing my own things?" she whispered to herself. Natasha thought that she had loved Kenny so much that she was seeing his car while he was busy taking care of Sophia, the girl he loved. If that was the price she had to pay for loving someone, then she had to pay for it. Natasha did not regret loving Kenny, the only thing that she regretted was allowing him to use her blood to save his girlfriend, although she was not aware of it. Thinking about the two years, the whole two years she had lived with him, Natasha realized that time was not a factor to determine whether someone loves you or not. Natasha felt her head hurting and her legs were running out of energy. She sat down on a stone by the side of the road as she wept bitterly. She clearly recalled the first day she saw Kenny. It was on a rainy day and she was coming from school. It started raining heavily and she ran towards a building so that she could shelter herself before the rain ends. The rain did not show any sign of coming to stop and it was getting dark. Natasha decided to take off her sweater and cover her head with it so that she could go home. "Stop it," she heard a voice. Looking towards the direction of the voice, she saw a very handsome guy with an umbrella in his hands.Kenny still remained silent. Kenny’s mother cleared her throat and sat up straight. No one could tell that she was such a big pretender from the expression on her face.“Kenny, I just want to say how happy I am that you’re back,” she began." I have been looking for you, but you were nowhere to be seen." “Those eight months were the hardest time of my life. When I heard about the accident, I thought I had lost you forever.”Her voice broke a little, and she reached for a handkerchief from her bag. She wiped her eyes slowly, like someone truly emotional. Kenny sat there watching her, his face calm. Deep inside, he knew she was pretending. She was very excited when she heard he was dead, and she hoped he would come back again. Kenny knew it. She kept talking.“But even when you were missing, I still had hope because your child is growing inside Sophia. I told myself that at least I would still have a part of Kenny with me. That’s what gave me the strength to keep going.”Sophia shif
After getting home, Kenny opened the front door of his house and walked in slowly. The living room lights were still on, and Sophia was there on the couch, seated upright, her legs crossed, staring at the TV. She looked like the owner of the house, and nothing bothered her at all. Kenny didn’t say a word or look in her direction. He removed his shoes near the door and walked past her. Sophia turned her head slightly to look at him, but she didn’t speak. She just watched him walk up the stairs and disappear. Kenny entered his room, closed the door, and leaned against it for a second. He let out a long, tired breath, then walked to the wardrobe, took off his formal clothes, and changed into a plain white t-shirt and a pair of soft grey sweatpants. He sat on the couch beside the bed, elbows on his knees, and his hands rubbing his face slowly. Natafa's sweet face was still fresh in his mind. He imagined how sweet it would be if she were the one waiting for him in the living room ins
Still, she couldn’t forget that moment when they were so close. The way he told her to be careful wasn’t fake. She could see it in his eyes. He cared about her. But what did that mean now?She lay back on the bed and covered her eyes with her arm. “I can’t let this happen again,” she whispered to herself, “I just can’t. He betrayed me with another woman."Meanwhile, Kenny sat still in the car for a while, staring at the hotel door where Natasha had just walked in. His hand was still on the steering wheel, but his mind was not with him. He could still feel the softness of her lips. He hadn't planned to kiss her, but he couldn’t help it. The moment felt right, and his heart had taken over.He leaned back in his seat and sighed deeply. "What did I just do?” he whispered to himself. He rubbed his hand over his face, trying to calm his thoughts. He knew Natasha was angry, and she had every right to be. He had hurt her before, and even though he had his reasons, he could never erase the p
Kenny went silent, he didn’t ask any more questions after she said those painful words. He kept his eyes on the road, his hands firm on the steering wheel. Deep inside his heart, he felt a mix of emotions. He wanted to ask more, to know what was going on in her life, who Jasper really was, and if she still thought of him, but he held himself back, he didn’t want to push her too far. In the front passenger seat, Natasha shifted in her seat slightly. Her fingers played with the edge of the blanket he had given her. She was quiet, but her mind was full of guilt. She thought that maybe she had been too harsh with her words. After all, he had saved her. He didn’t have to, but he did it, and instead of her thanking him, she said mean words to him. She sighed, still wondering if he was angry now or just hurt. She turned her head slowly and threw a side glance at him, just to see how he was reacting. But the moment her eyes landed on him, she froze. He was already looking at her.Their e
“Please stop!” she screamed again, pushing against his chest, trying to break free.Outside, Kenny heard her scream. He couldn't waste time searching for the key to that door because she was in danger. He stepped back, lifted his leg, and with one powerful kick, slammed his foot into the door. There was a loud cracking sound. He kicked again, this time harder, and the lock broke; the door flew open, crashing against the wall.He ran inside, and what he saw boiled his blood. A man was on top of Natasha, trying to pin her down. Without thinking, Kenny grabbed him by the collar and pulled him off the bed. The man hit the floor hard, groaning. Kenny didn’t stop there. He threw a punch straight into his face, then kicked him in the stomach again and again.“You sick coward! Touch her again and I will end you!” Kenny shouted, his voice deep and shaking with rage. Natasha was in shock. Her body trembled as she sat up on the bed, holding her chest, trying to catch her breath. Even though t
After giving his speech, Kenny returned to his table, where some of the top business leaders and guests were still seated. He continued shaking hands with a few people, shared a few smiles, and engaged in small business conversations. All this time, his face looked calm, but his eyes kept scanning the room now and then, always landing on Natasha. He didn't want to admit how much he had missed her presence, and it felt so good seeing her around, even if she wasn't close to him.In the far corner of the room, Linda sat in a chair in a corner with a glass of wine in her hand. Her eyes burned with jealousy and anger every time she looked at Natasha. She cursed as she saw how everyone was laughing and talking around her. She called a waiter who was passing by and whispered something into his ear. The waiter nodded quickly after listening to her instructions. She then took something from her bag and squeezed it into the waiter's hand. Linda then leaned back in her seat with a smile, pre
