Chapter 25

On the way to the class from the café, I heard the person I didn’t want to ever talk to but I knew she would approach me now because Keith wasn’t like my best friend and the whole class knew about it.

“On your own, Carter? I bet no one can tolerate your sorry ass for long.” It was none other than Haley Williams.

I increased my pace ignoring her comments because I didn’t want to mess with her. She was still pissed off about the comment I made on the day she was hitting on Ryan. Till now, she hadn’t said anything to me because of Keith. She knew if she said anything to me, Keith would step in and if Keith stepped in then she’d have to face Mateo, which she wasn’t looking for. But hey, now she didn’t have any kind of fear so, I had an idea that this coward little bastard would try to pick up a fight.

I reached the classroom, sat on my usual seat as students were filling in the class, chattering. I heard the voices of my friends… well, ex-friends among other voic
