It’s been two days. I’m here inside our hideout, sitting in front of the table while facing a laptop.
“This is the first time you’ve borrowed a laptop, GD. Where are you going to use that? ” Tara muttered behind me and felt her sitting next to me.
I did not mind looking in her direction and opened the chrome; then, I let my fingers press the letters on the keyboard before the screen flashed someone’s information.
“Zygo Fiernan?” Tara asked when her eyes landed on the laptop as I remained my face straight to the front, “You know him?” I shrugged while scrolling on the man’s profile, “Why are you having an interest in him then?”
My hands stopped. I looked at Chris and Clark playing chess to our right before turning it over to Tara.
“Can’t I just stalk him without having an interest?”
She raised her right brow, shooting me an intriguing look.
“Dear, that’s why you creep up on that man because you are interested!”
I just rolled my eyes and brought them again in front of the laptop. I almost screech when my eyes landed on that Zygo and his biography.
Damn, he’s the owner of ZF Hotel. Also known as the CEO of the top-rated Modelling Company in the City.
“This is a new thing to see on you, GD. You are interested in a man, first time in history, but gosh! Why of all people, you picked a billionaire?!”
“I told you that I’m disinterested.”
“But you are trailing his online profile.”
I immediately turned my gaze on Tara; she was looking at me with cynicism. She insists that I really have an interest in the man who owns the name on the screen.
“It’s not a big deal, Tara.”
“Yes, it is! It’s the first time I witnessed my friend have an interest in a man! How could it be not a big deal?” Tara said hysterically.
I just shrugged my head.
“Think what you want to think. I’m not interested. Final.”
After saying that to Tara, I swiftly looked back at the front, staring at the laptop’s screen.
I didn’t doubt what Zygo said two days ago that he is one of Tranquil’s billionaires. From the beginning, I knew he was a tycoon and had been rolling in money because no one else could enter ZF Hotel, but those people qualified as Elites.
I heard Tara muttered something, but I disregarded it. My mind was focused on the letters flashing in front of the screen.
While reading the information regarding the owner of ZF Company, I couldn’t help but get nervous and grin at the primary time.
I can’t explain it, but there’s something building inside my body.
“He will give me everything I wanted? Ha! Even if I don’t ask for it, I already have them.”
I sheepishly mumbled.
“What? Are you saying something?” without looking, I shrugged at Tara’s question.
I continued scrolling until I found myself on the site of Executive Firms, tackling Zygo Fiernan’s connections and achievements.
Fiernan is a cycle of Entrepreneurs, and the man I met in the Hotel was the current heir and owner of the Fiernan Empire. In all, he was a man bound with amassed substantial wealth and power to dominate every living Empire.
As what written on one of Zygo’s forum, he handled the Company since he was fifteen. It’s incredible at that young age; he was now at the twenty-eight of the calendar.
It looks like he was a self-made billionaire, one of the people who created phenomenally successful businesses and changed the world significantly.
He’s not just holding a Modelling Company, but Legal Casinos, Private Bars, and Firearm Corporation.
After reading some of his information, I closed the laptop with a deep sigh. I’m confident that when my mother sees or finds out about this person, she will definitely be interested in all of its activities and enterprises.
“What’s with the groan, GD? Got a problem?”
“Nothing at all.”
“Are you sure?” I nodded, “But you seem not fine.”
I turned my gaze at Tara. Her face had a suspicion, but I gave her a stingy smile. I was about to open my mouth when I heard heavy steps walking in our direction.
“Gands!” Tara and I both turned to our right. I saw Chris running to us.
“What’s the problem?” I questioned when he reached our direction.
“There are cops outside, looking for you.” My forehead furrowed as I stared at Chris, “What did you do for the past week?” he added with worried eyes. I also saw Clark walking towards us while holding a piece of chess.
“I did not do anything,” I got up quickly.
I felt Tara’s hands hold my wrist, but I did not look at her, “Where are you going?”
“I need to face those cops. They are looking for me,” I answered.
“You didn’t do anything bad with them, right?” I gently nodded.
“They have a warrant, Gands.”
I felt Tara’s sudden perking up behind at the same time as she released my wrist.
“Warrant? Are you sure, Chris?”
“Yes.”
“They are looking for Dhara with a warrant on their hands. Are they implying something, and how did they find out this place?” my gaze turned to Clark standing behind Chris’s back.
I roamed my eyes, and their faces were bothered.
“Relax, guys. I did not do anything, yes, but I needed to entertain them. They are here for me. They are here while not knowing why. It’s either a full warrant of imputation or something that was inset with me.”
They remained silent while their faces were in distress.
“Don’t also forget that we are thieves. It’s normal for the police to get suspicious about us.”
After I said those words, I didn’t wait for them to answer. I walked quickly, taking the path outside of this headquarters.
When I got outside, three policemen were standing while talking. Based on their uniform, they are from the City and not from the town’s police. I already have a hunch on who’s behind this.
I cleared my throat when the policemen did not notice my arrival. All of them turned their gazes and walked immediately in my direction.
Before I could speak, they quickly presented a white piece of paper with something written on it.
“Miss Alejandro, you are under arrest for stealing. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you.”
Cannot afford it?
They quickly grabbed my hands, and in an instant, I was wearing handcuffs.
I also felt Tara and the others from behind. I even heard their complaints about what was happening, but the police did not answer them.
I quickly turned to my gang and smiled.
“Don’t worry about me. I will be fine,” I muttered before I was pulled by the police officers into their patrol car.
A deafening silence can be heard inside the car. I wanted to ask what I did to show the warrant or if the paper they were holding was valid, but I remained sealed.
I can’t help but flash a grin on my face.
“He really can do everything he wants, huh. That tycoon. Did he think that putting me behind bars will make him get what he wants?” I mumbled to myself.
Nobody knew about my connection, even what kind of family I was in. Tranquil is citywide. Actually, this is the very first time I will be incarcerated despite the theft we committed several years ago.
I don’t know how long we were on the road, taking the path into the City, until I felt the car stopped.
My fellow policemen came out and quickly opened the door for me. When I came out, I was greeted by the vast station. Many police and civilians come and go.
We soon went inside the station. I couldn’t help but smile at the sight of a man standing while wearing a black suit, talking to a policeman.
He quickly turned his gaze in our direction. Our eyes met, and I felt nothing but amused. The man walked towards our direction, leaving the officer he was with earlier.
“You really did what you said; putting me behind bars is too easy for you.”
I said when he, Zygo, was already in front of me. He flashes a smirk, looking like an arrogant tycoon.
“You can still change your decision. Be my woman, and I will free you from those handcuffs,” I gave him a dauntless smile.
“I will rather be confined than to be your woman.”
The smirk on his face faded. He walked and stopped beside me as he brought his face to my ears. I can feel his warm breath.
“Then enjoy your stay as Tranquil’s gorgeous prisoner.”
“Hey, officer. Can I borrow a phone?” I asked the policeman who passed by while I was inside the jail.
