Chapter 141: Twilight

A scream of sheer terror tore from my throat as we soared through the window. Glancing down, a mistake I immediately regretted, only intensified my panic, and I screamed even louder. I couldn't even see the ground, that's how far up we were.

We plummeted through the air at breakneck speed, my stomach churning and my hair whipped around as if trying to escape. The black castle loomed dangerously close, and I dared not move a muscle for fear of losing a limb against its unforgiving walls.

Sam's maniacal laughter echoed in my ear as he loosened his grip on me ever so slightly.

"SAM!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Abruptly, I was jerked upwards, the sudden change in direction knocking the wind from my lungs. I could only manage an "oomph" as my body resisted the abrupt shift.

"Yes?" Sam asked me innocently.
