Mag-log inIn the Kingdom of Valeris, magic determines status, power, and destiny. Eighteen year old Kevin Riven was born into one of the kingdom's most powerful noble families. But while his twin sister, Arena, is celebrated as a magical prodigy, Kevin has spent his entire life struggling to control his own power. On the day of their Codex Ceremony, Arena receives a rare four-point Codex, confirming her place among Valeris' greatest young mages. Kevin receives nothing. Humiliated and convinced that he has failed, Kevin refuses to give up. Then, at the edge of a river, when he is pushed to the brink of death, an impossible Codex appears. A five-point Codex. Black as night. Glowing crimson. No one understands where it came from—or why Kevin was chosen. Soon, Kevin discovers that his mysterious Codex is connected to an ancient guardian named Veyr, a strange black dragon who can communicate with him and teach him to control the power within. But possessing extraordinary magic does not make Kevin powerful. He must learn to control it. He must learn to fight. And most importantly, he must learn to believe in himself. When Kevin enters the Magical Knight Trial, he is still considered the weak Riven twin. While Arena attracts the attention of every Captain, Kevin struggles simply to prove that he belongs. But the five-point Codex is hiding secrets. Secrets connected to an ancient power that Valeris has forgotten. As Kevin's journey continues, he will discover that the world he thought he understood is far larger and far more dangerous than he ever imagined. Because sometimes the person everyone overlooks... is the person the world should have feared. The Kingdom of Valeris has chosen its next generation of heroes. But it may have accidentally awakened something much older.

Before Valeris, there was only land.
Vast. Untamed. Divided.
Fairies ruled the forests where the trees seemed to touch the heavens. Werewolves held the mountains. Witches, vampires, fallen angels, and demons each claimed lands of their own. They all had magic, but magic alone could never unite them.
For centuries, they stayed apart.
Until one man refused to accept a world divided forever by blood and power.
No one knows where he came from. Some say he was a wandering mage from a nameless village. Others say he descended from a bloodline that vanished long before Valeris began. History remembers only what he did. He travelled from territory to territory, meeting rulers, warriors, and ordinary people. He saw kingdoms fighting over land while common folk suffered. And he decided to build something greater than a kingdom.
A realm.
At its heart, he founded a city where magic, royalty, trade, and knowledge could meet.
Valeris Capital.
Around it rose six great kingdoms: Fairy, Werewolf, Witch, Vampire, Fallen Angel, and Demon. And the man who united them became the first Wizard King.
The Founder.
As the realm grew, one throne could no longer oversee everything. So each kingdom was given a voice. Six Council Elders, one from each kingdom, became the guardians of the balance between them.
Then came the Magical Knights.
Six Orders were established, each with its own style of combat and its own philosophy. The Sky Order, swift and far-reaching. The Flame Order, feared for its destruction. The Tide Order, masters of healing and control. The Earth Order, the shield that stood when everything else fell. The Arcane Order, whose strange magic challenged what scholars believed possible. And the Veil Order, older and more secretive, whose earliest history had faded into silence.
Each Order had a Captain. Six Captains, six symbols of strength, and some of the most respected figures in the realm.
But becoming a Magical Knight was never meant to be a privilege of nobles. So the Magical Knight Trial was created. When a young mage turned eighteen, they could stand before the Captains and show what they were made of. Those the Captains found worthy would be chosen.
For some, it was a chance to rise above the life they were born into. A chance to protect their people. A chance to have their name remembered.
But Valeris was not only castles and kingdoms. Beyond the capital lay towns and villages where people lived quieter lives. And further still, across an immense distance, lay the Forgotten Region. Fairies, witches, werewolves, and mages lived there too. Yet to the people of the central realm, those communities had faded into little more than names. Only ancient gates and magical bridges could cross that distance, and so the two regions stayed apart.
History is written by kings, queens, knights, and scholars. It remembers the powerful. The victorious. The names carved into stone.
And sometimes, it forgets the ones standing quietly beneath them.
Centuries after the first stone of the capital was laid, a child was born into one of the most powerful noble bloodlines in the realm. Surrounded by magic. Surrounded by royalty. Surrounded by expectations.
And despite being born into greatness, he would spend his earliest years wondering whether he deserved to stand among it.
His name was Kevin Riven.
The royal headquarters rose from the heart of the Capital like a fortress carved from silence.Towering walls encircled it, layered with ancient protective magic. Guards stood at every entrance, utterly motionless. Unlike the Order's bustling halls, the air here felt heavy, as if the very stones were listening.Kevin tilted his head back and stared up at the enormous structure."Do we really have to go in?"The captain didn't turn around. "Yes.""I was only asking.""And I answered."Kevin sighed. His bandaged arm throbbed with every movement, and the thought of repeating the whole mission from the start made him want to lie down on the steps and never get up.They were nearing the entrance when the great doors swung open from the inside.A familiar figure stepped out.Kevin froze."Arena?"His twin sister stood at the top of the stairs in her Order uniform, flanked by two fellow mages, one of them clearly a senior member of her squad. Surprise flickered across her face."Kevin?"Her
Chapter 24: The Temple That VanishedThe ground began to tremble.Kevin barely had time to react before the stone beneath him crumbled away, sending him sliding toward a gaping hole in the earth. His injured arm screamed in protest as he clawed at the ground, searching for anything to hold on to."KEVIN!"A hand shot out and caught his wrist. For one terrifying moment, he hung above the darkness, legs dangling over a pit that seemed to have no bottom. Loose stones tumbled past him and vanished into the depths. They never made a sound."Pull me up!" Kevin gasped through clenched teeth."I'M TRYING!"Another teammate threw himself forward to help. Together, they hauled Kevin over the edge, and he collapsed onto the ground, chest heaving, his injured arm clutched against him."Wonderful," he wheezed. "We survive a temple full of monsters, only to get buried alive on the way out.""Can you stop complaining for five seconds?" someone snapped."Can you stop saving my life in the most painfu
CHAPTER TWENTY-THREEThe Voice Beneath the TempleThe treasure chamber shook again.BOOOOOOM!Dust rained from the ceiling. Ancient crystals shattered.Kevin looked up. “That doesn’t sound good.”Veyr sat comfortably on his shoulder. “Your ability to identify obvious problems continues to impress me.”“Can you be serious for five minutes?”“I am serious.” Veyr pointed at the ceiling. “That is definitely going to fall.”Kevin looked up.A massive crack spread across the stone.“…Oh.”“EVERYONE MOVE!” Kael shouted. The chamber exploded into chaos. The researchers bolted for the entrance. Liora threw up both hands. “Water Barrier!” A wall of water formed overhead, and chunks of stone slammed against it. Damon seized one of the researchers and dragged him away from a collapsing wall.Kevin stood frozen, his eyes locked on his Codex. The golden mark was still there. One of the five points now carried a faint golden glow.He touched it.The instant his finger met the mark—A whisper entered
CHAPTER TWENTY-TWOThe First RelicThe treasure chamber went silent. Not quiet.Silent.Every sound vanished. The researchers stopped moving. Kael was frozen mid-stance. Liora stood with one hand raised, water suspended around her fingers. Damon’s blade hung halfway out of its sheath. Even the dust drifting through the air had stopped.Kevin stared. “What…”He slowly turned his head. No one moved.“Kael?”Nothing.“Liora?”Nothing.“Damon?”Still nothing.Kevin swallowed. Then he looked at the figure in the center of the chamber. The stranger was no longer smiling. His dark cloak stirred faintly in the frozen air. His eyes were fixed on Kevin.“You can move.”Kevin stepped back. “Apparently.”The stranger tilted his head. “That should not be possible.”Kevin glanced at his Codex. The five-point symbol on its cover glowed faintly. Veyr was perched on his shoulder, and the little dragon’s expression had changed. No sarcasm. No smirk.Only suspicion.“Veyr?”“Don’t.”“Don’t what?”“Do an
