Chapter 25: Oopsie

Sam's arms enveloped me before I could fall down and his teeth sank into my neck harshly. I flinched against the pain and protested with a groan. His arms around me tightened and he held me tight against his body. He wasn't at all careful with me. I felt more like a rag doll when his teeth split open the skin of my neck and I let out a pained yell. "You're hurting me." I whispered.

Instead of letting me go, he walked further into the maze with me in his arms. My feet scraped over the gravel and I looked over Sam's shoulder to see Wruy watching us with shocked eyes. We turned a corner, and Sam's chest rumbled loudly. Blood streamed from the wound he had inflicted, staining my once white dress.

Pressing his body against mine, he led us deeper into the maze. His wings disappeared, going back into his body like they were never there. His teeth left my neck but only to place his lips against my ear. "Take this off." He demanded, tugging at the back of my dress before biting me again.
