Lisa could almost feel her heartbeat in her head and her heart in her hand as she stared at the man. The man was also staring straight into her eyes. She knew he felt it too. Liv was overjoyed and Lisa sighed in relief. She had finally found her mate that she had been looking for all this while.

The man had a cold aura and seemed to be very intimidating. Judging by the way he carried himself, she could tell that he was the leader of the group of people that had surrounded her. His facial expression didn't change as he walked closer to her.

Lisa smiled, expecting that he would come close and claim her like she had always imagined her mate doing, but nothing like that happened. He looked away and turned his back to her.

Lisa frowned, confused. This was not what she had expected. She thought that they would be all over each other by now.

"Let her up." He ordered.

Lisa was so busy focusing on how deep and beautiful his voice sounded that she didn't even notice the warriors grabbing her by both of her arms, and lifting her up.

The man turned around and gave her one last cold look before turning away again. She had been hoping that he would at least say something to her, but nothing like that happened.

"Bring her." He said sternly.

She was pulled forward by the warriors to start walking, when she felt a sting in the side of her neck. She turned back to see who it was, when she saw one of the warriors with a needle in his hand. Before she could say anything, her body suddenly became weak and she fell into darkness.

Lisa opened her eyes to look up at the ceiling above her. She squinted her eyes, her brain racking on how she got here. She looked around the room. She had never seen this room before. The room was dimly lit and was really big. She tried to remember what had happened as she held her head, but nothing was coming back to her. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and got up, scrunching her face up at the ache that plunged her.

She made her way to the door before she heard a voice behind her.

"Where are you going?"She heard a deep husky voice say as a different feeling washed over her.

She turned around and saw the man that was her mate standing in a dark corner of the room. His hands were crossed over his chest as he leaned on the wall. Lisa almost drooled at how sexy he looked. She had never seen a man more handsome than this. Liv just kept whining in her head, telling her to get closer to him.

"Who are you? And why am I here?" She asked. Even though this man was her mate, she was still cautious of him.

"I am Alpha Adrien Winter, the alpha of the Silver Moon pack." He said with so much confidence and Lisa's eyes widened, because she recognized his name.

Her mate was Alpha of the Silver Moon pack. She had heard so many stories about him. Alpha Adrien Winter was known to have a cold and dangerous alpha. Their alpha was known for being cold and mean, and he was feared by all other Alphas. His pack was wealthy and had influence, so he didn't need to grovel before anyone. He cared about nothing else but the growth and safety of his pack. He knew her parents, so she had to be discreet, so he wouldn't find out who she was and take her back to her parents.

"You walked into my pack borders, so I had you brought here so I can question you. I normally do not appreciate strangers on my land, but your case is different." He walked closer to her. "Sit." He ordered while gesturing to the bed.

"Who are you and why were you in my pack borders?" He asked, sitting in a chair in front of the bed with his legs crossed.

Lisa gulped down, the fear in her eyes as she looked at him evident. Her heart raced heavily, picking her words carefully before replying.

“Lila…” she beginned, lowering her head.

“I'm Lila….and an orphan.” She lied.

"Do you have anywhere to go?" He asked her. She expected to hear a little bit of emotion in his voice, but his voice was like that of a robot.

"No I don't. My parents just died and I don’t." He sighed when she finished talking.

"I know that we're mates, and you were expecting me to accept you right away, but I can't do that." He explained from his position in the chair.

"You can stay here for the time being and I’ll figure out a way to break the bond.

Her heart sank, a wave of disappointment coursing through her. All her life she has waited for the mate moment, and now it felt like she should have just stayed without meeting him. Her eyes met with his cold stoic face that seemed like he had made up his mind and it can’t be changed.

"You are to stay in this room until I say otherwise. I might send someone to call you, so don't fall asleep." He said, standing up from the chair as he walked out the door without looking back at her

Lisa looked after him, dumbfounded by what she had just heard. She had been searching for her mate for all these years. She even run away from home, leaving her parents to what ever fate they were to endure, leaving them to worry and wonder if she was dead or alive. She did all these things just so she could meet her mate one day, and now she finally had and this was what she got.

Lisa leaned forward, her hands digging into her hair as she pulled on it. Why was nothing ever working out for her. Why did it seem like the Moon goddess held a grudge against her? What exactly had she done wrong?

In the confines of her room, the familiar surroundings seemed foreign, transformed into a sanctuary tainted by the echoes of their broken trust. Adrien left the confines of the dungeon, his mind heavy with the weight of Lisa's words. As he sat down for breakfast, his thoughts swirled in a very wild storm of confusion and doubt.“But what if she’s the righteous one? What if she’s actually innocent and being framed by Hera? Not like Hera can’t do something as terrible as that. What’s really going on right now?” He asked himself, lost deep in his own thoughts. The words she had spoken echoed in his mind, challenging his beliefs and questioning the very foundation of his trust.“I’ll make you pay for this!” He remembered her say, her voice high pitched, ringing in his head like an emergency dial.A cloud of uncertainty hung over him as he deliberated on whom to believe. Adrien's voice dripped with accusation, his eyes fixed upon Hera, searching for answers."You crossed a line, Hera. You went too far, let me be frank. You went to the extreme just to humiliate your fellow one on front of everyone… for what? Are you happy now? " he rapped continuously, his blood boiling by every second passing by.Confusion etched across Hera's face as she struggled to comprehend his sudden change in demeanor. She retorted, her voice tinged with defensiveness,"And what about you? You ordered the guards to take her away. Don't try to shift the blame onto me when you played your part.
