Elena's POV

"What happened? Were you crying?" He asked me narrowing his eyes, knowing very well that I was sprouting a lie earlier.

Let me remind you, Tom was my boss and he was authoritarian when it comes to work but he was not heartless. He did not have a close relationship with my family but he had acquaintance with my family and he knew how cautious my family is for me.

"It was nothing. I was reading a book and a very emotional scene appeared." I lied. "You know how my emotions get best of me," I joked trying to lighten the mood.

"Go and get the pictures of the bride with her friends. She's there," Tom said with the gesture of her hand.
