Chapter 9 Unwanted Heat

Lucky's POV

I paused in front of my door when I saw mom inside my apartment, sitting on the couch while silently looking around. She didn't inform me that she's coming.

She immediately felt my presence. She looked at me and smiled.

"Lucky, darling. I'm sorry I didn't inform you I'm coming."

I nodded and kissed her cheek. "Have you eaten yet?"

"I already ate. I just came to talk to you."

We sat on the couch. I held her hand. There's hesitance in her eyes as she looked at me with a serious face. I know she wants to know about what happened between me and Peter. She likes Peter for me, but after this, I don't know what she would think and do.

"Mom, I'm sorry. Are they messing with you? I mean, Peter's family?"

She heaved a sigh. "Once. His mother went to our house. And Peter paid a visit. He's apologizing but he didn't tell me what happened. What really happened, darling? I want to know."
