Chapter Three

last update publish date: 2026-06-11 16:41:19

Ophelia's POV.

I should have stopped, but I didn't. No, I couldn't.

I forced my tongue into Diego's mouth, kissing him harshly, my breath long gone.

Diego gripped my shoulders firmly, pushing me away from him.

“Stop, Ophelia. You are drunk” He said in a low tone.

But the look on his face told me otherwise. I refused to back off and grabbed his shirt, staring deep into his eyes.

“Tell me you don't want this” I blurted.

Diego's jaws clenched but he stepped backwards, like he was forcing himself to stay away.

I didn't give it time before I stepped back close to him, panting heavily, my eyes on his lips.

I couldn't explain what was wrong with me at the moment. I honestly didn't know.

But I knew I wanted this forbidden moment with Diego. It felt so wrong, but I couldn't walk away.

“Stop, Ophelia,” Diego grunted. He took two steps back, one at a time. “You need to stop before I—” He groaned, running a hand through his hair.

“I can handle the consequences” I blurted while panting.

“No” Diego shook his head and spun around but I held his hand, desperation clawing at me.

“Please…..” I begged. “Don't go”

He turned and bit his lower lips hard before everything snapped.

“Fuck” Diego grunted.

He slammed my back to the wall, claiming my lips roughly.

The kiss wasn't slow or sweet, it was only fueled by desire. I allowed him access, letting his tongue explore my mouth. My hands moved above his face, pulling and tugging at his slicked hair. His hand traveled up my thigh, lifting my skirt and touching my panties where it was damn wet.

I moaned.

He pushed me through the hallway, my back scraping against the wall as the kiss only got more fierce. He didn't stop until we got to a door. His hand rattled with the doorknob, but he didn't break the kiss for a second.

He pushed the door open, shutting it with his leg when we got inside, and before I knew it, my jacket was on the floor, the skirt dropping after it.

My back landed on the bed softly, Diego laying on top of me. He broke the kiss, the both of us panting heavily. He grabbed my bodysuit where my cleavages showed, and he ripped it down like a beast with a hand.

He yanked again, and every other clothing on me came down in shreds. I laid naked beneath him, bare and burning with desire.

His hand came between my thigh, sliding through my wetness and raw pleasure coursed through my veins.

His finger dragged slowly, circling my clit over and over again.

My eyes turned white, rolling to the back of my head. This feeling? I had never felt it before in all my years of marriage.

I moaned, back arching on the bed. Diego's mouth dropped to my breast and his tongue dragged over my nipples hard, making a filthy sound escape my throat.

Three hands slid inside my pussy, stretching and curling inside me ruthlessly. My moans filled the room, body jingling profusely.

My body convulsed and I came in no seconds.

Diego pulled his cock out, fisting the base and dragging the wet lips across my entrance.

“Beg for it” he growled. “Show me how much you want my cock inside you”

Again, he placed his cock at my entrance, sliding only the tip in. The moment I tried to clench around him, he pulled out.

“Please……” I begged, swallowing breathlessly. “Please fuck me”

Diego didn't hesitate, he pushed his whole length into me, skin slapping against skin, pleasure ripping through my whole system.

I counted orgasms after orgasms. I moaned his name, screamed, and chanted it like a mantra. He didn't stop, until I could barely move, limbs heavy and body shaking.

The next morning, I woke up with a throbbing headache. I sat up on the bed, looking around the room with a groan.

“What is this place?” I muttered.

My eyes travelled the floor, and the moment my eyes caught the clothes sprawled on the ground, memories from the night rushed back to me.

My stomach twisted.

Diego….The hallway…..The room.

Every forbidden touch…. Every filthy sound….. Every move….

My eyes widened, my chest tightening at the same time. No…… This couldn't have happened.

My face moved slowly to the clock and I gasped, hands getting clasped over my mouth.

I had to get home before Erick. He'd be back home around 7am and this was 6am.

I stood up quickly from the bed, noticing a packaged dress at the edge of the bed. I picked the dress, glancing at the note attached to it.

“Last night was a mistake. Forget it”

The words in the note blurred and for some reason, my chest hurts.

A mistake.

That was all it was. What it's meant to be.

If Erick ever found out, it would destroy everything.

When I got back to the house, I was able to breathe because Erick was not back yet.

I showered, scrubbing everything about the night off, even though the memories refused to be erased.

An hour later, my husband returned.

I couldn't look into his eyes as I greeted. “Welcome home”

Erick responded with a groan, dropping his briefcase lazily on the sofa.

“You look tired,” he remarked. “You didn't sleep well?”

“No” I replied hurriedly, hiding my trembling fingers from him. “I had a good night rest”

A good night curled up in his father's arms.

Erick nodded.

“I'll head back to my room” I pointed upstairs nervously, turning away from him.

Every second with him felt uncomfortable and the only thing I could think about was the way I had shamelessly grabbed his father last night.

I betrayed my husband.

I curled up to myself behind the door inside my room, my breath and fingers trembling.

I should regret it. I should hate myself for what happened. Instead, I could only think about how alive I had felt with him.

But he's my father-in-law. Old enough to be my father.

Oh, God. I'm fucked. Completely fucked.

Ophelia's POVI barely slept. The anonymous man's final message kept circling through my mind.Ask Erick what he knows. What did Erick know? And why would a stranger want me to ask him?By morning, I had already decided that I wouldn't let the message control me.I would speak to Erick because I wanted answers, not because someone hiding behind an unknown number told me to.I arrived at the café we'd agreed on a little after noon. Erick was already there. He stood when he saw me. For a moment, neither of us spoke. It felt strange seeing him like this. There was a time when being alone with Erick had felt completely natural. Now, even sitting across from him felt unfamiliar."Thank you for coming," he said.I pulled out the chair opposite him."I don't have much time.""I know."He sat down. For several seconds, he simply looked at me.Then his eyes dropped briefly to my stomach. Something complicated passed across his face."You look well.""I'm trying to be."He nodded."I'm glad."I

Ophelia's POVI couldn't stop thinking about the message. Now ask yourself why your name is on it.My name.On the Hartwell file.I had gone through the document several times, searching for an explanation that wasn't there. The Foundation had been involved with the Hartwell Community Initiative years before I ever worked there. So why was my surname attached to it?Coincidence?I wasn't convinced. But I also wasn't going to jump to conclusions. Not anymore.I had learned the hard way that one unanswered question could lead to ten more. I closed the file on my laptop and leaned back in my chair.I needed information.Real information. Not anonymous warnings. Not assumptions.Facts.---I spent the rest of the morning going through the older Foundation records. The Hartwell project had been discontinued several years ago. There were financial reports.Community development proposals.Funding requests.Meeting summaries. But the deeper I went, the more frustrating it became. Ophelia's POVI barely slept. The words from the last message kept replaying in my mind. The reports are only the beginning.Beginning of what?I had spent the entire night trying to make sense of it. Every possibility led to another question. The financial discrepancies. The old Foundation records. The person using my credentials. The photographs. The warnings.Somehow, they were connected.I just didn't know how.By morning, I had made one decision. I would stop reacting to the messages and start looking for answers.Carefully.-When I arrived at the Foundation, Evelyn was already waiting for me."You came early.""I couldn't sleep."She gave me a knowing look."Because of the message?"I nodded. She sighed."Security reviewed the footage."My attention sharpened."And?""They found someone outside the Foundation around the time the photograph was taken."My heart skipped."Did they get his face?""Not clearly."I felt my disappointment immediately."But they did find something.”S

Ophelia's POVI barely slept after the message.Stop looking into the reports. The words kept replaying in my mind. Whoever had sent it knew what I was investigating. That alone was disturbing. But what frightened me more was the certainty behind the warning. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a threat.By morning, I had made a decision.I wouldn't tell anyone about the messages yet. Not until I understood who was sending them.I arrived at the Foundation earlier than usual and went straight to my desk.Clara was already there."You look tired.""I didn't sleep well."She gave me a concerned look."Everything okay?""Just a lot on my mind."She nodded and didn't press further.I was grateful.I opened my laptop and tried to focus on work. For the first hour, I succeeded. Then Evelyn appeared beside my desk"Ophelia, can I speak with you?"I followed her into the conference room. She closed the door behind us."IT checked your account again."I sat down."What did they find?""More activit

Ophelia's POVI barely slept. The name from the access log kept coming back to me. I had never seen it before.Yet somehow, that person had accessed a report connected to my department.By morning, I had almost convinced myself to stop thinking about it.Almost.I arrived at the Foundation earlier than usual and went straight to Evelyn's office. She wasn't there.I checked the time.Eight fifteen. Her office door was unlocked, but her desk was empty.I turned to leave."Looking for someone?"I turned. It was Hannah."Good morning.""Morning.""I was looking for Evelyn.""She had a meeting with finance.""Oh."Hannah studied me."Is everything okay?""Yes."I hesitated."Actually, I wanted to ask her about something from yesterday.""What kind of something?"I wasn't sure how much I should say."The outreach reports."Her expression changed slightly."What about them?""I found an error.""What kind?""A discrepancy in the figures."Hannah nodded slowly."Those reports go through sever

Ophelia's POVThe following morning, the first thing I remembered was the folder. The figures, the two discrepancies I'd noticed before going to sleep. For a moment, I considered forgetting about them.Maybe Evelyn would know the explanation. Maybe they really were simple mistakes.I got dressed, had a quick breakfast and headed to the Foundation. By the time I arrived, I'd almost convinced myself not to bring it up.Almost.Evelyn was already at her desk when I walked in."Good morning."She looked up."Morning, Ophelia."I placed my bag down."Can I ask you something?""Of course."I pulled the folder from my bag."I was reviewing the outreach reports last night."Her attention shifted to the documents."I noticed two figures that don't match."She took the folder from me."Which ones?"I pointed them out."This report says one amount was spent, but the expenditure summary shows another."She studied both pages.
