LOGINIVY’S POV
A gentle knock at my door woke me up from a surprisingly deep sleep.
The maid bowed softly as I sat up, informing me that breakfast was ready. Usually, a tray was brought straight to my bedside, but today she gestured for me to follow her downstairs.
When I stepped into the dining room, my feet paused against the cold marble floor.
The dining hall was magnificent, illuminated by a towering crystal chandelier that cast warm light over a massive, polished mahogany table. But what made my breath hitch wasn't the décor, it was the two people sitting there. Prince Leo sat at the far end, his broad shoulders filling out a dark tailored suit, while Doctor Rachel sat off to the side.
The maid guided me to the head of the table directly opposite Leo, placing me a safe distance away from him. Doctor Rachel offered a quiet, reassuring smile from her seat right beside mine.
"Good morning, Ivy," Leo said, his deep baritone voice rumbling through the quiet room. "How are you feeling today?"
I clutched my linen napkin tight under the table, my chest fluttering with a sudden wave of nerves. "I'm... I'm doing well, thank you," I mumbled, keeping my eyes fixed on my plate.
Even though I felt on edge, a small part of me felt grateful for the long expanse of wood between us. He was staying on his side, intentionally giving me space so I wouldn't panic.
"Please, let's enjoy our meal," Leo said softly.
My eyes widened slightly at the display before us. Plates piled high with fluffy scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, toasted sourdough, fresh berries, smoked salmon, and warm pastries covered the center of the table alongside jars of fresh juices and tea.
We began to eat in quiet rhythm, the soft clinking of silverware filling the air.
After a few minutes, Doctor Rachel set her fork down and leaned slightly toward me. "Ivy, the reason we are all having breakfast together this morning is part of your healing routine. Sharing meals allows your body and your wolf to naturally adjust to Leo’s presence without pressure. It helps build a sense of safety for you and the baby."
I nodded quietly, taking a small sip of my orange juice to keep my hands busy.
In truth, my heart was hammering against my ribs. Not out of fear, but because of his eyes. Every time I glanced up, Leo was staring straight at me. His intense, dark gaze was so heavy and suffocating that a sudden, prickling heat spread across my skin. The intense way he looked at me felt raw and possessive, making my mind wander down a dangerous path. He looked as though, if given the smallest chance, he would pin me right to this table and kiss me senseless regardless of who was watching.
The wild thought made a fierce blush burn across my cheeks, and I quickly stuffed a piece of fruit into my mouth to hide my face.
Doctor Rachel finished her explanation, turning her sharp gaze toward Leo. "Remember, Your Highness, absolute peace and quiet are important for Ivy’s recovery. You must not do anything to distress or harm both mother and child."
"I understand," Leo replied smoothly, taking a slow sip of his black coffee. "Her safety is my priority."
Doctor Rachel then looked back at me. "And for you, Ivy, I encourage you to cooperate with these small steps. It is important for your baby's development."
"I will, Doctor," I whispered.
The rest of the meal passed in calm silence until Leo wiped his mouth with a napkin, checked his wrist watch, and stood up. "I must leave for the office now. Have a good day, Ivy. Doctor."
With a final, lingering look in my direction, he turned and strode out of the dining room.
The moment his heavy footsteps faded down the hall, Doctor Rachel turned her chair toward me. "So, how did you feel with him in the room?"
I paused, staring down at my teacup as I processed the lingering tingling sensation under my skin. "It felt... a bit suffocating at first," I admitted softly. "But... his scent... his pheromones actually calmed me down once I settled in."
Doctor Rachel’s smile widened with satisfaction. "Good! Then the routine is working just as expected. I want you to remember, Ivy, Leo is the absolute last person on this earth who would ever hurt you."
I gave her a small, obedient nod. "Okay."
What I couldn't bring myself to confess to Doctor Rachel…what made my blood run hot just thinking about it…was the shameless impulse that had gripped me the entire time he sat there. I didn't just feel calm; I had genuinely wanted to run across the room and kiss him, or have him drag me into his arms and kiss me until I couldn't breathe.
After breakfast was over, I politely bade Doctor Rachel goodbye as she left to prepare her notes.
Feeling a little restless again, I decided I wanted to watch a movie in the private screening room upstairs. But before heading there, I slipped back into my bedroom, retrieved Leo's large black cotton shirt from beneath my pillow, and tucked it securely under my arm.
I made my way up to the third floor and settled comfortably onto a plush leather recliner inside the cozy theater room. Just as I finished picking out a light romance film on the big screen, a quiet knock sounded at the door frame.
I turned around to see a friendly face stepping inside.
It was my personal maid, Lucy. She was a lovely, bright-eyed Omega in her mid-twenties with clear, glowing skin, soft dark hair tied in a loose ponytail, and a warm, infectious smile. She was naturally chatty and sweet, always moving around with an easy grace that made her effortless to be around.
"Good morning, My Lady!" Lucy said cheerfully, folding her hands in front of her gray dress. "Can I prepare some light snacks and fresh juice for you while you watch your movie?"
I smiled back, feeling instantly comfortable in her presence. "That sounds lovely. Thanks, Lucy."
"Coming right up!" she replied with a bright nod before bustling back down the hall.
I turned back toward the glowing screen, hugging Leo's soft shirt against my lap as the movie began to play.
hello guys, sorry for the late upload. I had a fever and couldn't write for a while. but I'm better and ready to complete this novel. hope you enjoy my story.
IVY’S POVThe quiet hum of the laptop fan was the only sound echoing through Leo’s spacious study. I sat comfortably on the soft leather sofa, the computer resting on my lap as I casually scrolled through the local news and wolf-community blogs, looking for any updates on high-society fashion for the upcoming Apex Gathering. Then, my finger froze over the trackpad.Right at the top of the trending entertainment page was a high-resolution photograph taken just hours ago inside the Royal Palace lobby. It showed Leo standing in his crisp black suit, looking impossibly broad and handsome, while a strikingly breathtaking woman stood close to him. She was laughing, her manicured hand resting intimately on his forearm, leaning into his space as if she belonged there. The glaring headline above the photo read:"High-Society Lovebirds Reunite? Lady Celeste and Crown Prince Leo Spotted Sharing an Intimate Moment Ahead of the Apex Gathering!"A sudden, sharp wave of heat flared deep in my chest.
LEO’S POVThe east sunroom was draped in golden afternoon light, filtering through sprawling floor-to-ceiling glass archways. Steam rose lazily from a delicate porcelain tea set resting on a glass table. My mother, Queen Eleanor, sat in a velvet high-backed chair, her spine straight as a blade, her silver-threaded hair pinned into a flawless royal crown braid."Sit, Leo," she commanded softly, not bothering to lift her eyes from the silk tapestry she was embroidering.I didn't sit. I stood near the archway, resting one hand inside my coat pocket, feeling the small, velvet box containing Ivy's sapphire pendant against my palm. "Sir Desmond said you summoned me, Mother. I have a long drive back to my estate."Queen Eleanor set down her needle and finally looked up. Her cold, sharp amber eyes, so similar to my own scanned my face, searching for any sign of tiredness."I received word from the High Council this morning," she began, her tone measured, every word calculated. "Alpha Marcus A
LEO’S POV"He has lost his damned mind," I growled, slamming my palm down onto the heavy mahogany desk. The mahogany rattled under the force of my Alpha aura, sending a tremble through the glass bottle resting on the tray beside me.Beta Sam and my Delta, Mark, stood across from me in the sunlit study, both holding rigid, defensive postures."What gives Marcus Ashworth the absolute guts to demand her return?" I continued, my voice dangerously low, vibrating with a dark, suffocating rage. "After what they did to her? If I didn’t arrive on time she may have died. He threw her away like trash, and now he dares to send a formal high-court summons demanding his 'rogue ward' back for pack questioning?""Leo, He’s playing a game," Sam said calmly, though his jaw was tightly set. "Marcus is a ruthless political snake. He knows pack law gives an Alpha leverage over unbonded pack members. He knows it is enough to stir up trouble in the High Council. He wants something.""Or someone is pulling h
LEO’S POV"I have a meeting at the high palace today, my love," I said, setting my teacup down on the small plate. "I will leave soon, and I probably will not be back until late tonight."Across the table, Ivy stopped eating. Her dark eyes grew big, and a tiny, cute pout formed on her soft lips. The sad look on her face filled my chest with warm love.I could not help but laugh softly. She was so sweet."Do not worry, I will come back as fast as I can," I promised, giving her a gentle look.I turned to the butler standing by the door. "Tell the driver to bring the car to the front right now.""Yes, Your Highness," the butler bowed and left quickly.I finished my food, wiped my mouth with a napkin, and stood up. Ivy watched me as I walked around the table. I leaned down, held her soft cheek, and kissed her sweet lips. She gasped softly against my mouth, her sweet scent of strawberries filling the air around me.I wanted so badly to cancel my meetings and stay with her, but I forced mys
IVY’S POV"One, two, three. One, two, three," Doctor Rachel counted, clapping her hands to the slow sound of the metronome on the table. "Keep your back straight, Ivy! Keep your head up and relax your shoulders!"Sweat was wet on the back of my neck as I tried not to trip over my long dress. My maid, Lucy, was playing the role of my dance partner, holding her hands out to pretend she was a big Alpha man. Every time I stepped forward, I accidentally stepped on Lucy’s toe."I am so sorry, Lucy!" I squeaked, stopping immediately and hiding my face in my hands."Oh, please do not worry, Lady Ivy!" Lucy laughed, smoothing down her apron. "My feet have seen much worse than your soft shoes, I promise."Doctor Rachel put down her paper board and walked over, handing me a cool, wet towel. "Take a deep breath, Ivy. Your whole body is stiff as a board. Royal dancing is not supposed to be a hard march. It should look easy, like you are floating across the floor on a cloud.""It does not feel like
IVY’S POVI didn’t know the movie I chose was this erotic.Leo was sitting a little distance away from me on the large living room couch. Since the movie started, he had not said a single word. I had read the quick synopsis earlier and picked what was supposed to be a funny action film, but I certainly didn't expect it to have any explicit scenes. I desperately hoped it wouldn't last long.I tried focusing on the screen, but I felt my face instantly heat up as I watched the male lead lift the female character into his arms and carry her aggressively toward the bed.I turned to look at Leo, only to find that he was already looking at me.My cheeks burned fiercely, and I quickly turned away, staring back at the screen. I gasped in shock as the male character began removing her clothes right there. This was getting so much worse.A low, deep chuckle echoed beside me."You didn’t know when you chose the movie, right?" Leo asked, his voice filled with amusement.I buried my face in my hand
