Chapter 70

I ran out of the door after him. “Logan where are you going?”

“I need to speak with Brax, myself.”

“You don’t need to do this.” I pleaded.

“Join me if you would like. I need my own answers.”

Something deep inside me knew Logan was not the type to start a fight but I also knew how protective he could be. After the way we met, he spent weeks protecting me from that instant. I knew he wouldn’t do anything stupid as it would also put his career in jeopardy and Brax was not worth that. I locked up and decided to join him.

The car was silent apart from the low tone of the radio and the hum of the engine. It didn’t take long at all until he was pulling the car up outside Brax’s house. I could see his car and the lights were on. I saw movement inside and a few seconds later the door opened, and Brax stepped out. He met us closer to the car than his house.

“Logan, Leah. Didn’t take you long after all, did it,” he smirked towards me.

The tone of voice and the look on his face sent a shiver up my spine. Bile rumbled in my throat.

“Don’t you dare turn this onto her.” Logan snapped.

I knew how protective he could be, but it came as a shock how fierce he was with it.

“You are the one who cheated here. I walked away thinking she was in safe hands with you. You seemed like a nice guy, and you did this?”

“I guess you were wrong.” His smirk was sickening.

I had never seen Brax like this before. He was acting strangely, and his tone was nothing like I had ever heard before.

“Maybe next time, don’t waste your time on a guy that spent two months only kissing you.” He laughed, “It took Laura an hour to get me back in bed with her and yet you were still waiting after two months. I think that says it all.” He laughed harder this time.

I saw Logan clench his fists, but I was too upset to stop him from lashing out.

“Careful there Mr. bigshot. You don’t want an assault charge against your precious career, do you?”

“He’s not worth it Logan.” I pleaded with him.

I placed a hand on his upper arm and he instantly relaxed. He turned to walk away when I saw a change in Brax demeanor.

“Maybe the only way you can get sex is by being assaulted, Leah.”

I felt like I had just been punched in the gut. I reacted without thinking and swung a right hook that connected with Brax’s jaw, square on. He wobbled and dropped to his knees. Logan rushed to pull me away. I was screaming and kicking out at Brax as Logan pulled me down the drive back towards the car.

“How dare you! Your scum! I hate you! You're sick! How dare you, you little piece of shit!”

Logan dragged me to the car. I reluctantly got inside. I was absolutely fuming; I had never felt so angry in my entire life.

“How dare he throw what I told him back at me like that!” I was shouting at nothing in the car.

Logan turned the engine on and drove away before I went back for round two at Brax. He placed his hand on my knee to try and calm me, but it was no use. He pulled the car over on the side of the road. I flew out and paced up and down shouting in thin air having a full-blown argument with myself. Logan watched for a moment until I seemed to shout it out of my system. The emotion then flipped so quickly into sadness and the tears started again. Logan was right there ready to wrap me up in his arms again.

“You’ve got a bloody good right hook on you,” he chuckled placing a kiss on the top of my head.

I laughed through my tears into his chest. “My hand is killing though.”

“Let’s get you home and look at it.”
