On Fire,Literally.

SERENA’S POV

It had been two long days since I left that luxurious mansion, yet not a single word had reached my ears from Kaden. I tried my best not to dwell on it, to focus on other things, but damn it, it bothered me nonetheless. But just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, the sweet chime of a message popped up on my phone, disrupting my thoughts.

Lo and behold, it was Kaden himself, informing me that I had foolishly left my bracelet behind. His message read,

"Hey, Serena. Seems you've forgotten something important at the mansion. I found your little bracelet, and I thought I'd swing by and give it back to you. Send me your address."

My heart skipped a beat, but of course, I had to maintain my composure, play it cool. So, I replied casually, masking the elation in my words. "Oh, that old thing? Yeah, guess I did forget it. Okay, I'll text you the address. Drop by whenever, I guess."
