MasukALEXANDRIA
“Good day, Headmaster Sora,” the Alphas said in unison as they settled into their seats, causing me to purse my lips. Sora. Even his name carried a sense of popularity.
His deep voice resonated through the hall once more. “It has been a month since the freshmen arrived on campus. How are you faring?” he asked.
Murmurs rippled through the crowd while he listened with a smile. My gaze remained fixed on him. There was something familiar about him, but I couldn’t quite pinpoint it. Beyond his commanding aura, there was another depth in his eyes that intrigued me.
“I hope you’ve already adjusted, because our Alpha Fest is about to commence.”
With that, the murmurs escalated, growing louder with excitement. Yet, with a single raised hand, he silenced them all again.
“This year will be special,” he continued. “There are far more stakes to contend for. We must prepare well and demonstrate to the world what Alphas are made of.”
“Stakes?” I muttered under my breath, wondering what he meant.
“It will be a long process, but rest assured, it will be both fun and thrilling. You will be divided into five groups, as is customary, consisting of freshmen, medians, and seniors, all led by an Alpha.”
“The lots will be drawn on Monday, after which the remaining Alphas will select their respective groups.”
I furrowed my brow at that, but it appeared the others were unbothered. I tugged on the hem of Zeus’s shirt, prompting him to turn towards me.
“We get to choose which Alphas we want to join? Isn’t that unfair?”
I thought I had managed to keep my voice low, but I forgot I wasn’t surrounded by ordinary wolves, but by Alphas. It felt as if all their gazes snapped to me. I bit my lip, glancing around. The Alphas in the front row were staring. Chase struggled to stifle his laughter, while Damon looked at me like I was prey.
I shifted my attention back to the stage, but gasped softly when even Headmaster Sora’s gaze landed on me. With that, I focused on my lap instead. I just wanted the ground to swallow me whole. I wasn’t ready for this kind of attention, especially not on my first day here.
Just as I was about to implode from embarrassment, the door swung open, letting in sunlight that flooded the gymnasium.
Everyone’s eyes shifted to the entrance.
Thank goodness for the distraction.
I also turned my head with a small, grateful smile, but that quickly morphed into a frown when I saw who had entered.
Wyatt Frost.
Dressed casually in a white shirt and sweatpants, he exuded a regal presence. He strode in without uttering a word, neither acknowledging his tardiness nor the attention he was getting.
My heart began to race for an inexplicable reason as he approached our direction. I realized he was heading for the first row as well.
He drew closer and closer, and for a fleeting moment, our gazes locked, causing my heart to race even faster. That scent—it was stronger than ever.
I pushed the feeling aside for a moment and assessed the situation. When Zeus and I had entered late, it felt like everyone was roasting us alive with their stares. The professors had looked resentful too.
Yet, with Wyatt, they seemed indifferent. I sighed and shook my head. It was evident he was one of the top Alphas here.
Wyatt took a seat next to me, making me purse my lips. Of all the empty seats, he had to sit next to me? His scent and presence were already too distracting!
Nomea stirred restlessly in my mind, but I suppressed her.
‘Go to him! Go to him!’ she urged eagerly.
‘Now’s not the time, Nomea,’ I countered through our link.
Just because he was hot didn’t mean I was going to approach him.
‘Please, Alexandria,’ she insisted. ‘We have to go to him.’
I shut her out and shook my head. She’d never been this boy-crazy before. What made Wyatt so special?
With that thought, I scooted slightly away from him, nudging my shoulder against Zeus’s.
I refocused on the front, where Headmaster Sora continued with his speech.
“Your rankings will also be based on the Alpha Fest, so give it your all,” he said.
The ranking—just another meaningless hierarchy the leaders of the land had established. Alpha Academy stood at the center of that hierarchy. Smaller packs, like ours, were expected to bow down to the more powerful ones, even when it was against our will.
We had fewer resources, less support from the government, and minimal help from neighboring packs.
Just then, my thoughts were interrupted by a sudden shaking. I frowned and turned to Wyatt, who was bouncing his leg up and down. My frown deepened as he pulled out his phone to text someone, seemingly indifferent to Headmaster Sora’s address.
He continued bouncing despite my glare, prompting me to take a deep breath and calm myself. However, along with the shaking of his leg, he started tapping his finger on the bleachers, making my eye twitch.
Gosh, he was annoyingly disruptive.
Unable to hide it any longer, I reached over and placed my hand on his knee to still its restless bouncing. He frowned and turned to me, one eyebrow raised in confusion. At that moment, I was frozen, unable to move.
“What are you doing?” he asked with a frown.
Once again, I found myself at a loss for words, as Nomea resurfaced just then. Along with her return, I could no longer deny the truth—the sparks crawling through my arms were very real.
‘Mate,’ Nomea purred in my mind, ‘Our mate is here.’
I quickly withdrew my hand from his knee and turned to Zeus, who was observing our interaction with both fear and curiosity.
“Assembly dismissed,” Headmaster Sora announced, and the Alphas rose, filing out of the gym. Wyatt also stood, disappearing into the tide of people, his presence lost in the crowd.
“Alex, let’s go.”
I remained in my seat, paralyzed, struggling to comprehend what had just occurred.
Mate? I found it hard to believe I had met my mate in this place. And he was none other than Wyatt Frost.
You've got to be kidding me!
‘Our mate is so handsome, right?’ Nomea chimed in, sounding excited.
No, it can’t be real. This has to be a lapse in judgment.
I needed confirmation.
“Alex?” Zeus called out to me again, concern creeping into his voice.
I gathered my resolve, standing without looking at him, my focus locked on Wyatt’s broad back as he moved through the crowd of Alphas. At that moment, I was grateful for my smaller stature, which allowed me to weave through the crowd more easily—though it still proved to be a challenge.
“Alex!” Zeus called out from behind me, but I couldn’t afford to focus on him right now.
My mind was set on one thing: I had to be sure. There was no way, right? I had always imagined my mate coming from a small pack like mine, perhaps a Theta like me. The Moon Goddess couldn’t have paired me with one of the strongest Alphas in the land!
“Why are his legs so long?” I muttered, watching as he reached the end of the hallway, widening the gap between us.
I quickened my pace, a sense of triumph rising within me as I finally caught up. I reached out, gripping his arm to halt him. He spun around, frowning and glaring at me, confusion written across his features.
Yet all I could concentrate on was the exhilarating sparks dancing through my arms, confirming the truth I had dreaded.
Fuck.
Wyatt Frost is my mate.
FAYEI must be out of my mind.I lay there on the bed, listening to the sound of the shower running in the bathroom. My body still carried the ache of everything that had happened last night, and although I was still a little out of my mind, I could still remember everything.Every single thing.Honestly, some part of me wanted to blame Chad, but at the same time, I knew exactly what I had been doing. I was the one who asked him to help me with my heat—or whatever the hell this was. I had been the one who went to him, the one who had asked for his help, and the one who had willingly allowed everything to happen. So, no. I couldn't exactly put the blame on him.I ran my fingers through my hair and slowly pushed myself up from the bed, already grimacing as I anticipated something gushing out of me. However, to my surprise, I was already clean. In fact, I was already dressed in his clothes.I looked down at myself, then slowly glanced around the room. What the hell?I walked over to the
CHADI stayed there for a while, holding her close, my entire body tense as my mind raced with everything that had just happened. It hit me all at once that this shouldn’t be happening. In fact, I shouldn’t even be here. Especially not with her. However, the sight of her bent over in front of me, her butt pushed back against my hips, made my restraint snap. I pulled out slowly, watching the way her walls tried to grip me, reluctant to let go of my cock. Her moans were muffled by the covers, and I was afraid she couldn’t breathe properly, so my hands found her waist and I gently turned her around, settling her against the mattress.Faye’s eyes met mine, wide and dark, and fuck, she looked beautiful. Her lip seemed slightly swollen from how hard we had been kissing a while ago, so I pressed a soft kiss against it, suddenly feeling sorry for being so rough with her. However, when I pulled back, I caught sight of her flushed face, her disheveled hair, and the way her chest rose and fel
FAYE I knew exactly that it was Chad right in front of me. However, that might have been worse than not knowing at all.The insatiable heat I had inside my body felt like it couldn’t be satisfied with anyone but him. His scent calmed me down in ways that I couldn’t understand, and somehow, that only made everything feel even more sinful. I hated that my body seemed to recognize him before my mind could even catch up.“One more, Faye,” he muttered. “I’ll ask you one last time if you really want this.”Him asking questions like this was just making everything worse. I guess, despite being a playboy, he actually valued consent. I didn’t like how my chest fluttered at the bare minimum, as if something as simple as him making sure I was certain could make me see him differently.I couldn’t take it anymore and placed my hand over his nape.“Just shut up and kiss me,” I snapped, pulling him in until his lips were on mine.He was frozen for a moment before a curse escaped his lips, and he be
CHAD“Look, man. We were just trying to help,” the foolish Alphas said, and I swore their breaths smelled so fucking bad that it was enough reason for me to punch them in the face. However, Faye was clinging to me like I was her life support, and I could tell that their scents were making her feel even more restless. Her fingers tightened around my clothes, and I could feel the tension running through her body.I looked at the nameplates of the Alphas and embedded their names into my mind. I wasn’t going to forget them.“Just wait and see what will happen to you,” I said before turning around. I could hear them cursing behind me, one of them even reaching out and holding onto my shoulder.“Wait, Chad. Let’s talk it out—”However, with one glare from me, he quickly retracted his hand. I clicked my tongue and began walking faster. I had been on my way back to campus and was heading toward the gym, taking the shortcut, when I stumbled upon this.“Where’s your unit?”Faye merely moaned an
FAYE“I don’t like this,” I told Alex, who was effortlessly pushing the 200-pound tire across the field. She looked like she hadn’t even broken a sweat, which somehow made me feel even worse for struggling to flip this damn tire one more time.Alex giggled as she glanced over her shoulder at me. “It’s fine if you can’t go on. You don’t have to push yourself. I’m just used to these kinds of things since I was young.”I pursed my lips. It was true that I had been spoiled since I was young, and Lunaria Academy actually didn’t require us to do all of these things. I had never been forced to spend hours training my body until every muscle ached. However, now that I was in Alpha Academy, I might as well try to push myself to my limit. With that thought in mind, I knelt down, gripped the edge of the tire, and flipped it one more time. A groan escaped my lips as pain shot through my arms and legs.“Atta girl,” Alex encouraged. “You’ll get used to it soon. Baby steps!”I didn’t want baby steps
CHADWhy did she smell so good?I frowned slightly as I stayed close to her, breathing in her scent. It was strange. I had smelled plenty of women before, but Faye smelled different. And the weirdest part was that she had already told me she wasn’t wearing any perfume. So why the hell did she smell this good?I closed my eyes and took another slow breath. Her scent filled my senses, wrapping around me in a way that made it difficult to pull away. It was soft, but it was also something I couldn’t quite describe. It made me want to stay close.I shifted slightly, getting even more comfortable. My wolf seemed to agree. He was already purring inside my head, seemingly content with having her this close.I frowned. What the hell was wrong with him?I had spent months arguing with Faye. She was annoying, bossy, and had no problem telling me what to do. Yet here I was, practically snuggling into her because she smelled good.Ridiculous.I took another breath anyway. She still smelled good.
ALEXANDRIA“You have to let him go, Alex,” Ryland, our pack’s Beta, said, his voice trembling as he grasped my arm, trying to pull me away from the most important man in my life—my twin brother. I turned to him, my eyes brimming with unshed tears. “I can’t just let him go! He has to live!” My gaz
ALEXANDRIA “What an asshole.” After telling me about the assembly, Chase just threw on a shirt and stormed out of the room. When I asked him if we could go together, he told me to figure it out for myself. Now, I was lost in the sprawling maze of this Academy. Who knew that finding the gymnasi
ALEXANDRIA I stared at my reflection in the car mirror while Ryland drove us to the Academy. Mandy was in the backseat, singing along to the latest viral songs on the radio. Mandy had cut my hair evenly and placed it in a lazy half-up and half-down. She had also concealed my naturally rosy cheeks
ALEXANDRIA“Goodness, Alex. Where have you been?” By the time I finally got home, the sun was already high in the sky. I had spent the night at a 24-hour cafe, indulging in far too many ice cream sundaes, hoping to sober myself up—or at least feel a bit better. To my surprise, I did feel better th
