Just what the hell is going on?

: Jason’s POV

“Most of the men are injured and the others still haven’t found any trace of your brother and his pack, it is as though they completely vanished” Jaime said to me.

As I listened to the words he was saying, anger bubbled within me, I could not believe that Alec was alive, two years ago, I had killed him myself and taken way everything from him and now the bastard was back again and from what I could see, he was even more powerful than before , I had no idea how he had become so strong over the last two years, how on earth had he taken Sandra away from me, she was mine and he had taken her away from me but I will stop at nothing to get her back and this time, I will ensure that I kill that bastard brother of mine for good.

“Let the men rest for now, finding my brother will not be so easy, I am sure we will be seeing him very soon, after all I am the only one who can save his beloved Brianne” I said with a smile on my face.

I could already see it happening, Alec would have to beg me to save her, I had made sure that if she was not by my side then she could not be beside anyone else’s.

“Are you sure we will be able to handle the crescent pack if they attack us again? They are the most powerful pack and our wolves do not really stand a chance against them” Jaime said.

“I will make sure to destroy that pack, we just need to find a time when they are most vulnerable , we just need to get Alec and they will crumble, he is the leader after all” I said and took a drink from my brandy glass.

Jaime nodded his head and said “Whatever you say Jason”

“Call the men back, you all should rest for now” I said and drained the last of my brandy.

Jaime gave me a nod and walked out of the room leaving me alone.

Brianne’s POV

I woke up feeling like I had been sleeping for day, my eyes tiredly floated across the room, I remembered where I was and the weird things that had happened to me last time, starting from when I had run away from Jason and the appearance of his older brother who was also some sort of Alpha wolf king like Jason.

I could not understand how my life had suddenly taken a dramatic turn all of a sudden, a  few weeks ago, I had been living my life as a corporate assistant to one of the most powerful CEOs in the country, Jason Friend, I had been happy when I got the job two years ago.

I had always being attracted to him, he was handsome, smart, powerful and extremely rich, he was everything a girl wanted, I had something of a crush on him, I worked with him directly and was his personal assistant.

I went everywhere with him and I knew for a fact that he was also attracted to me, so when he finally asked me out, I was elated and definitely said yes, I was living the dream life, I had the perfect job and was dating the perfect man, everything was great between us, we had been dating for a while and I had been harboring hopes that he might propose soon.

So when he invited me over to his house two weeks ago, I had gone there dressed beautifully with the hopes that he will propose to  me that night but instead I got the shock of my life.

I had wondered around the house instead of staying put like the maid had told me to, I had mistakenly walked in on a meeting with Jason and some men, it seemed like a normal meeting at first but when one of the men in the room suddenly shifted into some sort of big dog and tried attacking Jason, I had been too shocked to even scream but the biggest shock had been when Jason shifted into the same dog like creature as well and attacked the other wolf, the fight was quick and fast, the other wolf fell down to the ground and even from where I stood, I could tell that it was dead since it was bleeding from its mouth.

It was then that I had screamed and Jason and every other person in the room turned to look at me and despite my best efforts to run away, I could not outrun the men chasing after me.

I was caught and locked up in a room inside the mansion like house for the past two weeks, I was treated like a princess but I was scared of him, he was some sort of freaking monster and he kept telling me how I was his queen or something of the sort, he was keeping me with him to keep safe.

And then his so called brother was going on about something similar last night as well, I could not wrap my head around it and honestly, I was too tired to think about it.

My tired thoughts were disturbed by the sound of the door opening, I turned my head to look in direction of the sound and found a woman staring at me, I studied the woman as she approached the bed which I was laying on, she was not tall, she could best be described as small or perhaps tiny, she had white hair which came flowing to her very delicate looking shoulders, she wore a black top and white jeans but her feet were bare, she had a strikingly beautiful face, her blue eyes were focused on me making me feel almost uncomfortable.

“You are finally awake” She said.

Her voice was just as gentle as her appearance, she looked perfect and almost too fragile but there was a look in her eyes that told me there was more to this woman that met the eye.

She sat on the chair beside the bed and crossed her delicate legs “How do you feel Brianne?” she asked.

There was that name again, the name that did not belong to me but felt very familiar anytime I heard it.

“I am not Brianne, I keep telling you all the same thing, I have been repeating the same thing since last night like some broken record but no one seems to be listening”  I said feeling the tiredness and confusion wrapping around me once again.

The beautiful woman cracked a smile and said “I will hate to be you right now, I really feel sorry for you, it must be hard, to have your whole life flipped upside down all of a sudden”

There was something about the way she said this that made it sound like she did not feel sorry for me at all but the smile on her face was looking so gentle and sweet, she made me extremely uncomfortable.

“Who are you?” I asked her.

“I am Alana, I am friend of Alec, the guy from yesterday” she said with a smile.

“Jason’s brother?” I asked, this was the first time I had heard his name and for some weird reason, it had the same effect as the name Brianne and somehow, I could feel a dull aching in my chest, the feeling was nagging and very uncomfortable, I did not like it at all.

“Yes, Jason, he and Alec are half brothers and based on what I know, they despise each other completely and you are the reason that the hatred between them spiraled out of control” She said.

“What on earth are you talking about? I only Jason’s brother last night and I have only Jason for two years now so how on earth could they hate each other because of me?” I asked, if I had been confused before then I had no idea what I was feeling right now.

A small laugh escaped the pretty woman sitting beside my bed “I may not know the full story but I assure you that your story with Jason and Alec started a very very long time ago and I am sorry to tell you this but one brother is already a force to be reckoned with, I can only imagine what a nightmare it will be to caught in between those two” she said.

She did not need to tell me that much, I already Jason was a dominant personality and last night, I could see that his brother was also a very dominant personality.

I felt like pulling my hair out in frustration, I did not want to be tangled up in this mess, I wanted to go back to being a simple girl with a simple dream, that was all I wanted.

I felt the beginnings of a headache in front of my eyes, I tried closing my eyes and massaging my temples but the headache only got worse, it kept increasing so much that before I knew it, I was wincing in pain and could barely keep my eyes open.

“Are you okay? You do not look so good” I heard Alana saying but she sounded distant and I felt like I was fading out all of a sudden.

The pain had become so intense that I could feel tears streaming down my face and I could screams but I was not sure if they were coming from me or some other woman, I just wanted the pain to stop.

“What the hell is going on here?” I heard a deep voice say, the voice sounded frantic and worried, I recognized it, it belonged to Alec.

“I am not sure, she was okay one second and the next minute she was screaming her head off, I have no idea what’s wrong with her” Alana was saying.

I really wished they will be quiet because every sound was like a stab to my brain.

Warm hands went around my shoulders and I immediately felt the pain lessen enough for me to open my eyes, I was met with those eyes again, somehow looking into his eyes calmed me down, the pain was still there but it was not as intense it had been initially.

“What is the matter Brianne?” he asked.

“My…my head, it hurts terribly” I managed to say to him, the pain was coming back with a vengeance.

For a moment he said nothing and before I could even process what was happening, he was leaning forward, his eyes never left mine and I was still wrapped in his arms.

My heart stopped for a moment and in that moment, the pain disappeared and slowly he leaned forward until only a breath separated us, I could feel his warm breath fanning my cheeks, his breath smelt of honey, for some unfathomable reason, I found my heart beating wildly in my chest as though it wished to escape from my body.

“Sleep” he whispered and then his lips met mine.

I could not be sure if I responded or not but the last thing I remembered before my eyes fluttered shut was a feeling of euphoria washing over me completely.

Alana’s POV

I watched as Alec gently lay Brianne on the bed, she was asleep now, it was shocking just how powerful their bond was, she was completely at his mercy and judging by the look of concern on Alec’s face, he was completely under her mercy as well.

He looked at her like no else existed but her in the entire world, he looked at her like I wanted him to look at me but I was smart enough to know that I was not the woman for him and hence he will never look at me the way I wanted to be looked at.

I watched as he stood up and turned to me, he looked distraught and tired.

“Do you have any idea what happened to her just now?” I asked him.

He shook his head and then he said “I have no idea, I don’t remember her being sick or anything like that”

I wondered if her sudden headache had something to do with her link to Jason “Do you think that it because of the connection she shares with Jason? It will sense that their link is causing her distress, we might to break her connection to him” I said.

A frown crossed his face “I am getting real sick and tired of Jason, he is somehow involved in every single tiring situation of my life” he said rather tiredly.

I took a few steps forward and wrapped my hands around his much bigger body “Don’t think about it too much, I will make sure we find a way to break her connection to Jason, you and Brianne deserve to be happy at long last” I said to him.

I should have felt pain when I said these words to him but I did not because I had told myself a long time ago that it was useless pining for him.

Right now, I needed him for the continuation of my pack and he needed me because he needed power to face his brother after he stole everything from him two years ago and I could give him that power.

He pulled away from me and then looked into my eyes, he leaned forward and placed a kiss on my forehead and then he pulled away once more “What on earth will I do without you?” he said with a smile.

I gave him a smile and said “Not a damn thing”
