‘Looks like you finally went and did it, Adonis,’ Rey thought to himself as he watched Adonis storm out of the room.

Even though Rey pretended to be shocked like everyone else, inside, he couldn't help but smile.

‘Don’t blame yourself too much Adonis. This was inevitable.’

There was no denying that not all twenty-eight students would prove equally useful to the cause.

Rey knew most of them would eventually abandon the Alliance.

It wasn’t pessimism; it was being realistic.

He understood his classmates well enough to see through their façades.

They weren’t the selfless, altruistic type; they were just teenagers seeking fun, carefree lives.

The only reason they stuck around for this long was due to the perks of developing their powers and learning survival skills.

Once they could no longer gain anything from the Royal Estate, they were bound to leave.

‘It’s unfair, but that’s just how it is…’
