Trouble

Late night walk is an activity that Selena has always been fond of.

She hated the outside world during daytime, but she completely feels the other way around it during nighttime.

It's not because of the fact that she is a dark entity, hell no, she simply just likes it that way.

Looking around at the almost empty street, Selena shoved her hands into the pocket of her jeans as she walked in silence in the coldness of the night.

It has been quite a day, and it was exhausting.

It turned out that going to Alpha Gavin's academy isn't such a bad thing.

The activities that the teacher's give to their students are tiring, but it was also fun at the same time.

But so far— the activity that Selena enjoyed the most was experimenting with light and shadows in art class.

Since she was a little girl, she had always loved the paint, the paintbrush and the Canva.

It's love at first sight.

But it's over now — they can only attend art class once a week.

The academy's full focus was to help their students reach their full potential by teaching them their abilities and not learning academics.

As the breeze of the night was getting colder and colder, a convertible car speeded over the wide empty street, almost hitting Selena.

She cursed at that.

The road was empty, and the bastard was driving near the sidewalk.

“Watch where you're going!” hollered Selena to the driver of the car. “Asshole!” She added angrily.

She had gone in clan wars before, and dying because she was hit by a mortal certainly isn't an option.

That's just embarrassing.

As she continued on her walk again, she saw the exact same car turn around.

She doesn't know why the driver did that, but she braced herself just in case something bad happens.

Reaching for the butcher knife in her waistband, Selena gripped on it and continued walking casually until the car stopped in front of her.

She was guessing that the driver was in her age because of his young look.

He had this blonde hair that was much darker than hers and mesmerizing green eyes that she wished she had.

Selena can say that he was attractive, but his first approach already turned her off.

“Hey, gorgeous,” Said the guy driving the car.

“Hey,” She greeted back continuing with her walk, not even caring to look at him.

She still had her knife in her hands and she knew that she would be ready in case this dude attempted anything.

“Where are you heading to?” He asked. “It's late.” He added with that ignorant manner that she hated.

“I could say the same thing to you.” She retorted, stopping from her tracks to look at the douchebag in front of her right in the eye.

He chuckled at that.

“Babe, I'm seventeen,” He said with a chuckle. “I can do whatever I want.” He added with one of his hands on the steering wheel.

Selena thought about it for a while If she should say anything or simply just walk away.

This guy is a stranger, and she doesn't know his full capabilities.

But when she looked at his direction again, she already knew the answer.

“So can I,” Said Selena, walking towards him and dropping her elbows on the car door.

But instead of getting intimidated like any other creature that she had done this too, the asshole only flashed her a smug smile.

“If I had a daughter as pretty as you,” The stranger said, licking his lips seductively. “I wouldn't even let her out.” He added, inching his face closer to her, darting his eyes from her eyes to her lips.

“Well,” Said Selena, inching her face closer to him to the point that their lips are almost an inch apart from meeting.

His previous state was now gone.

He wasn't smirking and that stupid smug expression in his face was all gone.

He looked desperate.

Just like everybody else.

“Screw that.” She added, pulling her face away from him before completely walking on the sidewalk again, leaving him wanting more with his mouth slightly gaped opened.

She smirked at that.

He seemed to be in a daze after she did that, but he did recover from his shock state.

And once he did, his annoying smug manner also came back too.

“Get in the car,” He ordered as he started his vehicle. “Your parents are probably worried, I'll take you home.” He added, running his car just slow enough to keep up with her pace.

She was already slow enough because she was just walking, and her short legs didn't help at all too.

“I don't want to go home,” Said Selena. “I'm going to a party.” She lied.

When she was in the grocery store buying some necessities, she came across with two high schoolers who were talking about a party that was going to be held tonight.

Selena wasn't a party animal, and she certainly doesn't want to attend a mortal's bash.

She's pretty sure that it was just drinking, loud music, and perverted jocks.

The thought itself annoys her.

“You're going to Jack Russo's party too?” The stranger asked, grabbing her attention.

“What do you mean “too”?” She asked quoting the word “too”, questioning this stranger with her freaking audacity as if she were even invited.

“I'm heading there too, silly,” He said with a light laugh. “Come on in. Get in the car, we'll go there together.” He added with enthusiasm.

He doesn't look like he was lying or anything, but one thing that Selena learned as a dark witch is to never trust anyone.

She was betrayed by her friends and family and if they can do such a thing to her, so can a random stranger that just almost run her over with his fancy car.

She seemed to think about it for a while until she finally came with a conclusion.

She hadn't had any adventures since she and Cameron got chased by the police, and she is itching to have the thrill again.

Though, the mention of Cameron's name did something to her.

It made her feel an emotion that she can't explain.

Shaking the thought aside, Selena completed her reckless decision and made her way to the stranger's car.

Taking the hint, he opened the door for the blonde, acting like a total gentleman.

Once she was inside, he started the car and drove away slowly.

He drove really slow that they're probably going to get passed by a bicycle if there was one on the road.

“Turn up the speed,” Complained Selena. “I walk faster than this, and I have short legs.” She added, making him sneer.

“You wouldn't like it, Blondie,” He said, turning to his side to look at her with a smile before returning his gaze back on the road again.

She raised her eyebrows at that.

“Oh really?” She asked with sarcasm dripping from her voice. “Because I feel like I would not just like it, I would love it.” She added ecstatically.

“Don't get too full of yourself, honey,” The stranger retorted. “No pretty girl like you likes danger.” He added.

She scoffed at that.

“Is that really how you hit on girls?” Asked Selena with a tone as if she were challenging him. “I feel bad for the girls that you've hit on before.” She added, putting her legs to the dashboard of his car as if it were hers.

He looked as if he wanted to say something in exchange, but he just chose to keep quiet.

Selena still doesn't trust this stranger, but if he's getting himself into adventures.

Then so does she.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“How many drinks have you had, Selena?” Asked Malcolm, the stranger that she rode with towards the party.

It turned out that he was really popular.

Everybody knew him and none of them knew her.

That didn't stop them from checking her out from head to toe though.

Malcolm was actually the high school's jock, and his friend was the one who threw the bash.

The only saving grace that Selena had in the situation was the fact that the party host was already drunk and can't remember anything.

And when Malcolm asked him if he invited Selena over, his drunken self just nodded mindlessly.

Although— he did found out that she wasn't going to Abigail's High.

He asked her a lot of questions, to the point that he really seemed like he was interrogating her.

She simply just told him that she goes to the Thompson academy.

“Uh, I think it was six or seven?” She answered, more like she was asking herself a question than saying a sentence.

When she got to the gigantic Mansion, all she wanted was just to turn around and go back to the academy.

But when one of her favorite songs started to play in the speakers, she screwed all her worries away and just danced her ass off.

.

And now, she doesn't even want to go home.

“Okay that's enough,” Said Malcolm taking the cup from her hand, making her pout. “You already had too much. How are you going to be able to tell me where to drop you off when you can't even remember how many drinks you'd already had, eh?” He added, tossing the cup to the trashcan.

Selena isn't the kind of girl that people would ought to label “Damsel in distress”.

She was far from that, actually.

She does get in trouble a lot, to be fair, but she always somehow managed to find a way to get herself out of it without asking for anybody's help.

But the effects of alcohol changes everybody's behavior.

Selena already had a few, to too many drinks, and she was wasted.

When Selena gets drunk, she acts like an entirely different person.

She acts like a little minx, wanting to play more and more games until nothing is enough.

“Oh screw you, I'm playing beer pong with the boys,” She said with her sultry voice before jumping off the table.

She almost tripped on her feet, but she luckily caught herself.

As she has now had herself in total balance, she made her way towards the living room of the massive house, but before she can even step a foot on the division, she was quickly pulled back by Malcolm.

When you read books or basically just watch those typical teenage movies in general, a jock is always seen as a footballer who every girl wanted to date despite the fact that he acts like a total asshole.

But Malcolm proved that stereotype wrong.

He never did anything suspicious to anyone tonight.

Especially to her.

Maybe he had flirted with a few girls, but that doesn't count.

He respected everyone's boundaries and steeps back whenever the person that his mingling with wanted him to.

“No— no you're not going anywhere,” He pulled her back to the kitchen, helping her up to sit on the kitchen counter, making her giggle. “I'm taking you home later.” He added, walking away from her to one of the upper cabinets of the kitchen.

He grabbed a glass and walked to the fridge, pushing the couple that was making out aside before taking out a pitcher filled with cold water.

Malcolm poured some water in the glass and walked back to the drunken blonde.

“Here,” He said, handing her the glass of water, sitting beside her in the counter. “Drink this.” He added.

Instead of taking it, Selena just shrugged her head.

“No!” She whined. “I don't want that.” She added, pouting her kissable pink lips.

“But you have to,” He reasoned. “I bet it tastes as good as beer.” He added, making her eyes go wide.

He mentally laughed at that.

People and alcohol, he thought to himself.

“Really?” She asked with the most adorable expression that he have seen today so far.

The way her bright blue eyes widened seemed so innocent.

“Really.” He reassured.

And just like that, the next thing he knew is she had already drank the entire glass.

He smiled at that.

As she did that, he can't help but tuck some of the lose strand of her hair back to her ear.

“See,” Said Malcolm once she finished the entire glass. “It wasn't so bad.” he added, looking at the frowning girl with a smile.

“It tastes nothing like beer,” She said, putting the glass down.

He chuckled at that.

He knew that he wouldn't be able to take her out of this place if he doesn't lie.

"Really?” I'll tell the host about that, but for now, I'm going to take you home, and you get a good night sleep, kay?” He said, plopping off the kitchen counter.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and she also tangled her arms around his neck, so he can carry her down.

Just as she was down in the counter and ready to walk out of the house, a girl came to them and wrapped her arms around Malcolm's torso.

Malcolm doesn't seem to so happy With what the girl just did, and so does Selena.

Selena doesn't know what has gotten into her that time, but when she saw the girl sneak under Malcolm's arms and played with the buttons of his shirt, she punched her.

Yeah, it was pretty hard.

As the girl stumbled backward from the force, a crowd gathered around them, making the urge to punch the girl again increase.

“Ouch,” Groaned the girl holding her now broken nose. “You bitch!” She spat before completely attacking Selena.

The girl must have been fighting a lot because she was quite skilled.

Though, Selena still won because she hasn't just gone to fights before— heck, she had been to a witches war.

The punches that the girl was giving her were nothing compared to what Selena was giving her.

Malcolm tried to break them apart, but he was always thrown to the side by Selena.

The poor girl continued to receive Selena's hard punches until someone she wasn't expecting to see came.

“Selena Dalton!” Scolded a familiar voice, making the screaming and cheering voices die down which made the blonde's eyes go wide.

She's in trouble.
