The punishment

Sleepovers is where you go to bed alone, and wake up the other day finding yourself surrounded by your crowd.

They could either be laughing their asses off because you just got pranked, or maybe they're surrounding you because they just want to.

As creepy as that sounds.

Even though Selena woke up in her bedroom with a thumping head surrounded by the staffs in the academy, she didn't remember having a sleepover with them.

Heck— she'd never been on a sleepover before.

Rubbing the sleepiness off her eyes, she glanced at the group of people that were standing in front of her bed, staring at her with a disappointed expression.

“What are you all doing here?” She asked, yawning, sitting up and leaning on the headboard of the bed pulling the white sheets with her.

“You're late,” Alpha Gavin said sternly. “You have to get up and get ready right this instant. Your teachers aren't going to be so glad when they found out that their student was late because she was drunk the other night.” He added, with both of his hands in his waist, looking at her with a scolding look.

Selena heard the Alpha loud and clear, but she didn't understand what he was talking about.

Her head was still groggy, and she can't even remember what she did yesterday.

“Pardon?” She asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes confused.

Cameron sighed at that.

He knew that she isn't going to be happy with the punishment that the directors have chosen to give her, but he can't really do anything about it.

Last night, when he brought her home, she was wasted.

He could have lied to his father for her, but since his cousin, Dominique, was there with him when he saw the drunken blonde beating the poor mortal's body, he knew that he didn't have a choice.

He and Dominique told his father about the trouble that she got herself into and as her punishment, the directors have agreed to send her to a mortal's school during the daytime and have Cameron teach her about the things that she should know as a dark witch at nighttime.

The code of the academy states that for a punishment, the directors would have to give an agreement to the student to sign.

If he or she agrees and sign, then the punishment would be spared.

But If he or she doesn't, then they would have to stick with the normal punishments that the code of the academy provides.

Last night, when she was drunk, the directors have already made the decision.

They resonated with her and talked to her drunken self about the responsibilities that she would be having because of her actions.

After a long discussion, Alpha Gavin took a pen and a piece of paper that looked like a contract and gave it to Selena to sign.

Since she was drunk, she signed the agreement mindlessly.

“You have to go to school, Ms. Dalton,” Said Cameron. “It's your punishment.” He added, the sound of him using her last name foreign.

But instead of receiving a serious response from the blonde, the only thing that they got from her was a laugh.

It's true that Cameron have only met this girl in like a week ago, but she had some characteristic that cracks him up a lot.

It is a very rare occurrence, but when she laughs, he also found himself laughing as if her behavior were contagious, and it just got him.

Fortunately, before Cameron's temptation took over him, his father's formalities wrapped up the place.

“There's nothing to be laughing about here, Ms. Dalton,” Said Alpha Gavin with a serious expression as the younger girl was still laughing.

“I'm sorry— I'm sorry— I just didn't think that sending a kid to school was a punishment here,” she said, listening to her own words before bursting off with laughter again.

Alpha Gavin smirked at that.

If only she knew.

“I wouldn't be laughing so hard if I were you, Ms. Dalton,” Said the alpha as he walked in circles. “You're going to a mortal's school.” He added, sitting on the blonde's bed, looking at her dead in the eye.

He knew that she isn't going to like it there, and the thought of her displeasure makes him oddly satisfied.

“I'm sorry what?” She asked, doubting if she just heard what she just heard.

If she heard him right, there's no way that she's going to a mortal's school.

Hell no.

She's not immortal and there's just a thousand ways a dark witch like her could be always in the lookout for deep shit in that hellish place.

“You're going to Abigail's High, Selena,” Answered Mrs. Fischer, one of the directors of the academy. “You're going to a human's school.” She added, making the girl's eyes go wide.

“No— there's no way I'm going there,” Disagreed the blonde, shaking her head In disapproval. “You can't make me.” She added now stressed.

Alpha Gavin scoffed at that.

“Actually, we can,” He said with a challenging look, handing her the agreement that her drunken self signed the other night. “You signed. Your signature is here visible and clear, and there's nothing you can do about it now.” He added, folding his arms on his chest.

“This is fake,” Protested Selena, holding the paper. “I signed no shit the other night.” She added.

“Language.” Scolded one of the directors, making her role her eyes.

Pathetic, she thought to herself.

“That's fair,” Said Alpha Gavin. “I bet you can't even remember what you did to that poor girl the other night.” He added, making her scrunch her eyebrows in confusion.

“What are you talking about?” She asked again, racking up her brain with the hopes of getting the answer that she's looking for.

“Can't you remember?” Asked Cameron in a gentle tone, sitting at the bed.

She rolled her eyes at that.

“Would I be asking you if I can remember?” She sassed.

“You went to a party with a mortal and got into a fight with a girl last night, does it ring a any bell?” He asked, being as gentle as he could.

Selena's mind can't recall anything that happened the other night alone, but the mention of the word “Party” made the memories come back to her vividly.

She remembered getting into a convertible car with a guy named Malcolm, and they went to a party. She also remembered getting annoyed over this brunette chick, so she punched her in the face.

And that's when she realized everything.

Her eyes widened at that.

She's in trouble.

“But that girl was being a bitch!” She spat, looking at the Alpha. “She deserved more than what I gave her.” She added, refusing to take defeat.

“Well, we had an alibi that says the otherwise,” Said the directrix.

She scoffed at that.

“Oh, so you're just going to believe what those mortal said?” She asked scornfully. “You weren't even there!” She added now freaking out.

“I'm done with you, Ms. Dalton,” Said Alpha Gavin. “It's either you take your punishment or you stay here in the academy for twice your father sentenced you to!” He added.

“But I was drunk when you made me sign your stupid agreement!” She protested acting like a little kid.

“And you weren't wasted when you decided to go with that boy to the party,” Said Alpha Gavin, taking a dangerously close step to her. “Now chose.” He demanded, looking intensely into her big blue orbs.

No ordinary creature dared mess with the alpha of any pack because they know that it's just pure suicide.

Alphas are one of the most powerful creatures in the dark, and upsetting them can come with some very hard consequences.

Selena knew that Alpha Gavin was furious.

But so does she.

She messed with the highest power of entity before, and she surely isn't going to let this man not receive the same treatment.

“Fuck you.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In the human world, teenagers loved that attention that they get when almost everyone at their school was staring at them.

For them, It's like a signature that entitles you as Ms. or Mr. Popular.

And let's just say that not every student who goes to a human's school is actually a human.

With her backpack hanging in one of her shoulders, Selena walked through the wide hallway of Abigail high wearing her leather jacket and her leather boots.

After cursing the Alpha, Cameron literally dragged her out of her own room and got her to get ready for school.

She can't still fully understand the purpose of the kind of punishment that the directors and the directrix decided to give her, but sensing Cameron's uneasiness, she just decided to go with the flow.

Despite the fact that it was Selena that his father resented, Cameron was way bothered than her.

After breakfast, he gave her everything that she needed to know about going to a human's school, and he even made her borrow his car.

Selena still hated the fact that she was going to a mortal's school, but with Cameron's cool car in exchange, she was motivated.

Looks like this is going to be much more fun than attending the academy.

As all eyes were glued at her as she walked at the hallway, Selena can't help but smirk.

All of them were looking at her with their mouth slightly gapped open as if they just saw a shocking thing happen, and numerous guys were looking at her as if they were sharks, and she's a dolphin that got separated from her pod.

And it was certainly obvious that a lot of the girls envied her for the attention that she was receiving.

Ignoring the eyes that were staring at her, Selena made her way to the principal's office to get her locker.

Being the not so polite lady that she is, she didn't even bother knocking.

She just mindlessly pushed the doorknob open and stormed in on the office.

“Where's my schedule?” She asked impolitely, looking down at the old man who was sitting in his desk reading some papers.

“Excuse me?” He asked, putting whatever it is that he was reading down. “That is not how you approach people here, young lady.” He scolded, looking at her with judging eyes.

She rolled her eyes at that, but just decided to say nothing in exchange.

“What's your name?” He asked, bending down to get something from the student's record.

“Selena Dalton.” She answered coolly.

After saying the name, the old man instantly turned around with an expression in his face that indicates that he was in trouble.

“You- you're Gavin Thompson's niece?” He asked with his eyes wide open in realization.

Selena wasn't.

She was just one of his student.

But she's guessing that Alpha Gavin probably disturbed this old dude in the middle of the night and lied that he has a niece who he wanted to enroll in his school the next morning.

It isn't a surprise to her that Alpha Gavin is a very well-respected individual in their realm, but she wasn't expecting that he had the same reputation here in the mortal's realm.

“Yes.” She lied, making his eyes go wide.

And just like that, the grumpy old man that she was talking to a second ago was completely gone.

“Oh— I'm sorry, sweetie. I didn't know that,” Said the principal, chuckling nervously. “Welcome to Abigail's High.” He added, reaching for her hand to shake, but she just touched it and left.

After getting her schedule, she immediately stormed out of the principal's office to her locker.

Alpha Gavin seemed like a very well-respected individual here based on how the principal treated her once he found out that she was connected to him.

The bell had already rung, but Selena wanted to put some things in her locker first.

Looking for the locker that matched the number that was on her schedule, Selena's eyes scanned around the blue metal boxes until she finally found what she's looking for.

Just as she was about to open it, a handsome face appeared out of nowhere, grabbing her attention.

“Hey.” Greeted the stranger.

He looked familiar, but Selena can't really point out where she saw him.

“Hey.” She greeted back, opening her locker.

They had a brief discussion after that, and the next thing they knew is they're already making out in the parking lot of the school inside Cameron's car.

“How did we even get here?” Asked Selena as she sat on the back seat in the jock's lap.

“I don't know, babe,” Said the jock as he sucked on the sensitive spot on her neck. “But I'm fucking glad we did.” He added, leaving her neck before crashing his lips into hers.

Cameron's car window was tinted, but they were still in school and if somebody sees them, they're both in trouble.

As they were on their heavy make out session, the jock started playing with the hem of Selena's shirt, giving her a hint of what he wanted.

Taking the hint, Selena grabbed the hem with both hands and tried to pull it off her body.

As her bare skin was starting to get fully exposed, a knock in the window interrupted them, making her scramble off the jocks lap completely.

As much as she loved wearing her title as a troublemaker, she hated the consequences that her actions tend to give her.

She didn't even bother glancing on the window, she immediately just rolled it down.

“Well,” Said Mason with a scolding look.

She knew that he probably knew what they were doing, but it doesn't bother her one bit.

There's a look on his face that says his disappointed, but there's also that look that she can't point out at.

“Now I know why you're late.”
