After I remarry my wife, Vivian Crowell, I decide to rent her out to other men. When her male best friend, Elliot Everhart, summons her away from me, I no longer kick up a fuss about it. Instead, I charge Vivian by the hour. The rent is 10 thousand dollars per hour during the day, whereas it'll be 20 thousand dollars per hour at night. If it's a holiday, all prices will be tripled. After running my new business for three months, I now have an additional 20 million dollars in my account. Although Vivian has promised to pick out my suit for the banquet with me, Elliot calls her and complains about how he's nicked his finger with a knife when he was cutting vegetables. I don't even bother raising my head as I hand my bank account number over to Vivian. One midnight, I suddenly suffer from a fever. When Vivian is driving me to the hospital, Elliot calls her and claims that he can't sleep due to discomfort caused by his intoxication. I merely pull out my umbrella fluently and tell Vivian to drop me off at the junction ahead. Upon noticing her hesitation, I just smile at her. "Don't forget to transfer the payment to me." On the day our son, Victor Carrington, is going for his regular follow-up appointment, Elliot calls Vivian once again. "Eleanor wants to go to the amusement park. It'll only be fun when we have a woman to accompany us there." After Vivian ends the call, she turns around and is about to crouch down to explain everything to Victor when she sees him mimicking my actions by sticking out his hand at her. "It's fine, Mommy. You can just pay us. But today's rate is the triple kind."

Charging My Wife by the Hour Chapter 9
After the routine checkup was over, I flew back to the north with Victor once again. Victor was discovered to have an extraordinary talent for painting. Hence, I hired a teacher to nurture his skills. I collected every single one of his artworks and carefully preserved them. I even registered a social media account just for him and uploaded scanned copies of his paintings. Before long, he accumulated quite a number of followers. When Victor was 13, he had already achieved a certain level of fame. I organized an art exhibition for him back home. To my surprise, the number of visitors at the venue far surpassed all my expectations. After that exhibition, Victor's confidence soared, and inspiration came to him endlessly. His paintings also began fetching high prices online. He urged me to put his earlier paintings up for sale. I refused, but I did not stop him from selling his newer works. When Victor turned 17, he went viral again because of the sale price of one of his paintin

I spun around, only to realize Victor had gotten out of the car at some point. He tugged at the corner of my shirt, looking lost. Vivian paled. "What are you on about, Vic? I'm your mom! Are you saying that because you're still mad at me? "I was wrong, Vic. Please forgive me!"Victor took a step back. "Ma'am, my mom died a long time ago; she even appeared in my dream to watch over me during my surgery. How could you possibly be my mom?""You heard him. Get the hell out of here, and don't you dare trigger my son!" Tears welled up in her eyes, and she parted her lips. However, she ultimately left, looking utterly heartbroken and lost. She left before I could call the cops.Unfortunately, she still refused to give up.…I took some time off from work and drove Victor to and from school every day, not daring to let him out of my sight for even a second. That night, while I was blow-drying Victor's hair, he suddenly said, "Daddy, why does Eleanor's mom keep showing up near my sch

The doctor whispered in my ear, "All of his numbers look good, but his memory appears to have taken a bit of a hit. He's under the impression that his mother has passed away. He's still fresh out of surgery, so try your best to just play along for now. We can't risk triggering him."After hearing the doctor's words, I let out a wry chuckle. I never expected that what I had said to Vivian, that she no longer deserved to be Victor's mother, would actually come true in a roundabout way. I bent down and stroked Victor's head. "Vic, once you get discharged, what do you say we move somewhere new and start fresh, just the two of us?"…I took out the visas I had prepared long ago and moved with Victor to a small town in the north. Aside from the rent Vivian had paid to keep Elliot and his daughter company, I had also received a large sum of money from the divorce, which was more than enough for Victor and me to live comfortably for the rest of our lives. I bought a villa with a yard an

In an instant, all the color drained from Vivian's face. "Vic is… no more?"She reached out to steady herself against the wall before sliding all the way down to the floor. "How is that even possible? The surgery was clearly about to end…"She began to tremble violently, and the items she took slipped from her grasp and crashed to the ground. It was a divorce certificate and a bankbook. "What is this, Vincent? Is it our divorce certificate from last time?" Vivian reached out and tried to seize me. "I know I messed up. Please stop punishing me and let me see Vic… I stopped caring about Elliot a long time ago." I only did all of that because it felt like you only cared about money and didn't give a damn about me. I just wanted to get a rise out of you!""You did all of that to get a rise out of me?" I picked up the bankbook from the floor and hurled it at her face. "You used my son's life just to push my buttons? You're a fucking monster, Vivian! This bankbook belongs to Vic."Fo

I looked inside the operating room. Victor's chest cavity had already been cut open. There were only faint fluctuations left on the heart monitor. The doctor hurriedly broke free from my grip. "Ms. Crowell's daughter suddenly had an allergic reaction. The entire hospital has been reassigned to res

I rushed to my mother's gravesite, where Vivian was directing workers to dig it up. "Stop it!" I lunged forward, shoved the two workers down hard, and snatched up a hoe to guard my mother's grave. Vivian pulled Elliot and Eleanor behind her and scoffed. "Vincent, didn't you say you'd rent out anyt

An hour later, I pushed open the front door. Vivian was serving food to Elliot and Eleanor. The harmonious, joyful atmosphere made it feel as though Victor and I had mistakenly barged into someone else's home."Vincent…" Vivian sprang to her feet, hurried to the door, and took my coat from me. "Ell

After hearing that, the apologetic look on Vivian Crowell vanished in an instant. She rose to her feet, pointed at our son, Victor Carrington, and demanded, "Is this how you usually teach our child, Vincent?"Calmly, I pulled Victor behind me. "What's wrong with that? If he doesn't get love, at lea
