"How is Sharlynn?" Just as Richie opened the door, Keenan rushed in with a doctor who used to treat the Kaufmanns.

Keenan was still standing in the living room with the doctor. He was waiting for Richie to show him where his niece was.

"Let me take you. Sharlynn is in the room." Richie led the way ahead of Keenan and the doctor. After opening the door, Keenan could see his niece asleep on her back. His heart sank at the sight. His sister's only child's life had been turned upside down in an instant.

Keenan anxiously approached his niece and stood on her right side. Richie's bed was a little smaller and only fit one person, while two people had to squeeze in.

"Sharlynn," Keenan gently rubbed Sharlynn's forehead. He was a little surprised, not only because he felt his niece's body temperature, which was quite hot, but also because of the band-aid that covered the small cut on her forehead.
