The pack house is rammed. We’ve made use of all the rooms to set up the pack and make mini infirmaries to treat the wounded. Even as I’m here gathering more towels and dressings to use the death count rises. The last update was 20 minutes ago and we were told 32 members of the pack had died. The territory is being scouted by patrol to look for more survivors and in some cases bring the bodies of the dead back. I grit my teeth as I think off those who died protecting their homes. Matts been quiet , I know the pain and anger of this is getting to him but keeping himself isolated won’t help in the long run. I stack the linen out and head downstairs. Fuck , fuck , fuck ! I knew something bad would happen. Novas unconscious body slumps back and I quickly grab her and lay her down. Milo starts pacing anxiously while Adam and Miles stare at him in disbelief. “She’s dead isn’t she? She saved me and now she’s dead” Milo stammers raking his hands through his hair. My blood pumps around my body violently. Injured pack members mill in and out of rooms in the pack house. Seeking out loved ones. Praying that their family members survived the carnage of the attack. I glance down and notice the once pristine tiles are stained red and brown. Dried blood and fresh blood leaving its mark on my home. New reports keep coming in. Everything is black. Parts of my body hurt but don’t hurt at the same time like some kind of confusing hangover. Lights zoom around me yet I can’t see anything. As we reach the bottom of the stairs the pressure in my eyes starts to relax slightly. Hopefully it won’t be long until I can stop rolling around like Stevie Wonder. Everything hurts. The wolf healing feels slower than usual. Maybe because of all the magic we’ve burnt through tonight. I head to the front yard of the pack house. I made a conscious choice not to tell anyone I’m going now. I know they’d try and stop me , tell me to rest. But the longer I stay the further away that dirty little fairy gets. Sitting helpless surrounded by all the pack members who are hurt or hurting won’t help. Revenge will help. I pull out my phone and log onto heretic HQ. As the warm air of the heating hits me I take a deep breath. The airport is heaving with people which could make finding this dirty little traitor difficult. I grasp the broken phone in my pocket and trace her again. Each time the magic swirls I start to see through her eyes like I’m her. Urggh the thought alone makes me want to peel my skin off. You know what sucks most about the underworld? Fairies , fucking fairies ! Forget what you see on tv and in movies. Those little shits are actually vicious. Last week heretic HQ sent me out to Mayfair in London to break up a fairy fight. Lamp posts had been knocked over , huge slabs of pavement missing and magic flying everywhere. It wouldn’t of been so bad but the fae were having a full blown magic match in one of the busiest parts of London. Bloody fairy dust everywhere. Do you know how long it takes to wash fairy dust out of your hair ? Fucking weeks ! To make matters worse one of those evil little midgets even managed to bite me !
