It’s so hard to move. How did I get it wrong? I thought he was out. But he’s on a black stallion right before me, staring down at me as if he had been waiting for him to meet right on the spot. My heart drops when I meet his gaze, a smirk gracing his face, signalling that this might be another passage to some kind of his sick punishment.

“What are you doing here, Angel?” His wheedling voice that drips with manipulation causes goosebumps to erupt on my skin. Unable to answer his question that he certainly knows the answer to, I glare at him.

“Escaping at daytime is a dumb thing to do, I mean, I was expecting you to do that last night, but you slept like a log of wood.” He released a quiet laugh, clearly mocking me. Him being on a stallion this high and staring down at me made me smaller than ever, like I’ve always been meant to be below, to be on the ground, susceptible to him marching over me.
