Chapter 9

I’ve been sitting inside the restaurant waiting for Jack Wills or whatever his name is. I’ve been waiting for him for twenty minutes now. I am fully aware that this is not a date but after he sent me an email of the address where we are meeting, I went home and took a shower, put on some decent off shoulder yellow dress. And some heels.

I swiftly glance around the restaurant. It looks expensive. A few more minutes pass by and finally, Jack arrives. He is tall. He is wearing casual clothes, black t-shirt and some pants. He looks simple but can still get a lot of attention because of the way he carries himself. Direct and confident.

“I’m sorry to have kept you waiting,” he says, taking the empty chair across from where I am currently sitting. “There was just an emergency that I had to attend to.”
