ALPHA PRINCE KYLE (14)

~<>~

Unfortunately, breakfast wasn’t jolly this morning, and it all started with the argument between Katie and my Pa.

As much as I envy Katie, who seemed to be on the path to completing her mate bond, I do not want to be in her shoes. Heck! I am glad I won't have to be for a long time. Discussing my sex life with my parents wasn’t on my to-do list.

Speaking of my to-do list, I have one important task to do today. I left the palace after breakfast to get the task done.

“You can’t go empty-handed though,” my wolf muttered, causing me to stop dead in my tracks.

“Right, but what can I get for her?” I asked my wolf with confusion.

I was heading over to the white wolves’ settlement to find Camila, who usually spends her mornings with other white wolf kids. Since our schedule hasn’t been the same since my birthday, I wasn’t sure she would be in my library after her morning routine, so I decided to find her this morning.

“How about the rewrite of Grandma Elora’s journa

ALPHA PRINCE KYLE ~~“Ronald told me you would be here to bribe me, so I am not stunned to see you,” Camila stated, folding her arms around her small frame with a look of playful defiance.“It’s a gift, Mila. Reading the journal to you is not a bribe; it’s a gift,” I argued with a bright smile, mentally firing curse words at Ronald through our mental link.Of course, he told her. He was such a talker, always eager to spill whatever secrets he thought would spice up the atmosphere between him and his best friend.“Whatever, Prince Kyle,” she replied, rolling her eyes, even though a mischievous twinkle danced in them. “Whether this is a bribe or a gift, I will accept it, but I also have some conditions. Since you are the charming prince, you don’t have to—”“I will do anything if that means you will forgive me and stop being mad at me, Camila. I am not a charming prince with you. I am simply Kyle, your nerdy godbrother.” I cut her off, exhilarated by the freedom I felt around Camila,

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   69: Beneath My Desire

Princess Katie Anne~~It was no secret that Davien and I weren’t on the same page about the pool house that my parents wanted us to move into. Even though we had both spent the day away from each other, I couldn’t get him out of my mind.Mostly, this was due to the steamy love-making sessions we had enjoyed overnight. However, I still couldn’t shake off or ignore the annoyance simmering beneath my desire. I felt like Davien could have taken my side during breakfast this morning.I certainly wasn’t committing a crime by having sex with him, and no one saw me complaining about my parents, who we all knew had been in the game since before I was born—I mean, it’s the very reason I was conceived in the first place. Every member of my family knew me well enough to anticipate that Davien and I would eventually have a confrontation as soon as we were alone together. Unfortunately, we had been apart all day, and this issue kept burning within me, leaving me unfocused during both my physical

DAVIEN~~“I am sorry I undermined you before my family. Although that wasn't my intention, I did it regardless, and I am so sorry, Davien,” Katie said, her voice filled with sincerity even though we were lashing out at each other a few seconds ago.My chest rose and fell as if my heart were on the verge of stopping. I hated confrontations, and it was all because I had never gotten to speak my mind or express myself during any confrontation until now.I expressed myself, and Katie listened. She understood me. She set her emotions aside and chose to apologize to me.That made me feel like the luckiest man alive.I knew this would happen, and I might have been rehearsing the words I would say to Katie all day, even though I still couldn’t get my dad’s threat to kill her and the other white wolves out of my mind.Never had I been involved in politics. Until now, and I spent the whole day with Raiden and Aurelia. Yes, they finally made me call them by their names. After getting correcte

Princess Katie Anne~~Three months went by in the twinkling of an eye.I had been training and had gotten better at using my spiritual energy. Although my physical strength was still so much better, my spiritual strength had grown strong enough for me to train confidently with Elora.Yeah, Elora, my little sister. She had rubbed it in my face a few times, but she was also a darling, helping me to train alongside the greatest trainers that I had been assigned to.Another thing I had achieved within the past three months was peace and happiness. I found all of that even though I now had to live away from my childhood home. I wouldn’t trade our little home for anything.I had come to love having a space that Davien and I could share despite my initial emotional outburst, and clearly, I wasn’t far enough away from my annoying siblings.“Right now, I want to be far away from everyone and break a few things,” Zoe seethed within me just as Davien’s scent hit my nostrils. My mate walked in

Alpha Prince Kyle’s POV~~While my family and Camila’s parents planned a surprise birthday party and forced me to be a part of it, I wanted to tell them that she would rather spend her birthday in a haven where books are unlimited and with a few friends. But they wouldn’t listen to me. That was why I let them plan the party, but that didn’t stop me from planning a different party for Camila. And of course, the venue we needed was my private library. Only a few people were invited. By "few," I meant Ronald, who was there because he wouldn’t miss his best friend's real birthday party; Kennedy, who still enjoyed reading; and Soraya, because she was the only female friend of Camila who wouldn’t spend the entire night trying to get my attention or that of my brothers, who weren’t even teenagers yet.We celebrated Camila by reading her favorite book, and soon it was time to gift her.Ronald took the lead, presenting a fancy box and saying, “You have been talking about these sneakers, so

Alpha Prince Kyle’s POV ~~“Are you serious?” Camila asked after a few minutes of silence that must have made her realize that I wasn’t trying to be funny.I nodded, “Yes, I am, Mila. That letter has to be opened in five years when you turn eighteen years old.”The plan was simple—write letters to her on every birthday, and in each letter, I would tell her what I did the entire year. This particular letter contained how I found out she was my mate and everything I had to do so we could both have a normal life.I chose to do this because it was the only way I believed Camila would understand what had happened and why I had to do what I did. I didn’t want to risk losing our bond forever when she turned eighteen and hated me.“Exactly, Kyle. It’s five years away. Why give me a letter I can’t read for the next five years as a gift?”Of course, my brothers understood why, but they didn’t say a word, giving me the chance to say, “Because I am trying to teach you patience, Camila. Now do

Princess Katie Anne ~~Hell no!Hell no! Hell fucking no!“You don’t have to. This is all a scheme to fish out the rebellious Alphas, but you don’t have to go back there,” I exclaimed, holding Davien’s gaze for a minute before my eyes shifted around the living room. I asked no one in particular, “Right? He doesn’t have to do this, right?”But no one responded.Everyone kept quiet as if they didn’t know what the text from Davien’s dad was all about.I mean, Alpha Jarrett had commanded my mate to return to the Black Fur pack for some unknown reason that I knew wouldn’t be good. I couldn’t let Davien go, not when we were just connecting on a deeper level. Not when my heart beat for him.And definitely not when I knew that being apart would drive my needy wolves crazy. In turn, my wolves would drive me crazier, and not to forget the hormones that have skyrocketed ever since the first time Davien made love to me.“It’s not a death sentence, Katie. Don’t you think you are reacting a litt

DAVIEN~~Taking Katie with me to my family’s territory was like leading a sheep into a lion's den. Katie was a strong woman, but I wouldn’t want to test just how strong she was by endangering her life—the same life that my dad had threatened so many times in the past few months just to have his way.“Aside from that, Katie wouldn’t want to leave her family. She is tied to them,” Dolf said into my mind, agreeing with me.But the other people in the living room didn’t think the same way, and I couldn’t blame them. After all, none of them knew about my dad’s threats.“Can we stop cursing and express objections in a more polite manner?” Queen Aurelia chimed in, looking at Katie and me in particular.I nodded, but before I could speak, King Raiden uttered, raising his brows, “Why are you against Katie going with you? It’s the best solution.”All eyes turned to me, and I could feel my palms dripping with sweat. Do I tell them that my dad claims he can wipe out white wolves—the only clan

Princess Katie Anne~~“You have to be extra careful, Katie Anne. One emotional trigger is all you need to break down, and if you do, it will force you to shift. You know you can’t shift unless you have mastered the act, or else your soul will split between your two wolves. Until we know how to train you while you are there, please be careful.”Those words were in the long text that my dad sent to me this morning, and even though I could hear my mom’s voice as I read the text, I knew my dad chose to send it because he was equally worried. It’s been two days since we told him and my mom about our decision to stay in Black Fur, and I understood that this must be hard for him because he was losing his baby girl. Yeah, I wasn’t dying, but sadly, my parents’ nervous system couldn’t tell the difference.Same with my siblings…“Your cellphone would be blaring with messages and calls if you didn’t ask your parents to keep your decision from your siblings for the time being,” Zuri chimed int

DAVIEN~~Jade was wrong.I knew that before, but after listening to Aurelia, I got my confirmation. If anyone was to blame for Auntie Jessica’s death, it should be the witch Larisa. Auntie Jessica knew what she was walking into, and if I were in Aurelia’s shoes, I would have saved a helpless five-year-old, whether he was my son or not.“Her shoe must hurt.” Dolf whimpered within me after we heard the full story. “She is stranger than the history books can capture, yet she is so calm.”While Katie had so much in common with her mom, they were still two different people. For one, while Luna Aurelia was calm, Katie wasn’t.“She gave her life for Kyle.” Katie whimpered after her mom finished telling us how my aunt died.Queen Aurelia muttered from the other side of the connected line, “I am sorry, Katie, and I should properly apologize to Jessica’s loved ones. Her death must have hurt them deeply.”“Yes, it did.” Katie sniffled back tears before she mumbled, “I will apologize to Jade a

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   94: To Heal Her

Princess Katie Anne~~With the new development, Davien and I knew better than to discuss important issues loudly in the bedroom we were staying in. In fact, we knew better than to make important calls in that room.Which was why I had to walk out of the bedroom with Davien when my cellphone began to ring that evening. I could see my mom’s contact ID flashing on the screen. Although I answered the call, I didn’t say anything important until Davien and I made it out of his parents’ mansion. As soon as we settled in the garden, after confirming Davien and I were the only ones there, I said to my mom, “Why haven’t you answered my calls? I was beginning to worry.”Her voice hit my eardrums as she responded, “I am sorry, Katie. I knew your dad and siblings would call you every second, so I thought it would be good if we all stayed off our cellphones for a few days. At least so you could settle down in Black Fur.”My mom informed me that she had to take everyone’s cellphone and hide them

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   93: Make You Mine

Princess Katie Anne~~“You are a healer, Katie. Please help Cole before you go.”Alpha Jarrett’s voice stopped me from following Davien, whose mixed feelings surged within me. All of this was a show, but Davien’s tense emotions weren’t, and I was genuinely worried about him.He needed me. I could lift his spirits if we celebrated this successful ruse together—without his family. But I had to stay back and maintain the facade. I rushed over to Cole, who couldn’t stand up straight due to a few broken ribs. But the pain from his broken ribs and swollen face wasn’t enough to keep Cole silent. Sadly.I resisted the urge to punch him when he began to speak. “You see what he did to me? He’s an insecure brat, Katie. You don’t deserve to be his ego booster every time he’s feeling down.”“Shut up, or I’ll walk away without healing you,” I seethed, holding his gaze so he’d see my seriousness reflected in my eyes.I hadn’t healed anyone before, but I could use the practice—especially on Cole—an

DAVIEN~~Disrespect from my family members was one thing, but getting the same from Cole, a man who was after my mate, was a whole different game, and my ego just wouldn’t have that. It was more than raging to think about Cole in the same space as Katie alone.Hell, it was a miracle that I didn’t go after Cole the second Katie told me about his visit. By miracle, I mean Katie’s reassuring words and magic touch. She calmed me down. But unfortunately for Cole, Katie wasn’t around to save him now, and the group of ladies around us just weren’t strong enough to get me off him—if they even cared.“My mate is off-limits!” I seethed, raising my tightly balled fist and forcing it down with a force that burst Cole’s lip on impact.Cole tried to fight back, but my second hand was holding him against the wet patio, and with Dolf’s strength pumping through my veins, he was no match for me.Cole proved to be the sneaky bastard we all knew him to be when he chose another method to fight me. DAVIEN~~Having that talk with Katie made me realize that the path I was supposed to walk was already in front of me. Or maybe I knew it was there, and I was just doubting whether I wanted to walk that path. But with Katie’s words and the fire I saw in her eyes when she told me she was willing to become the Luna of my birth pack, give up staying with her family, and stay here with me, I knew what I wanted for myself. For us.Not only did I get a clearer vision, but the path before me also became clearer.“We have to become the Alpha of Black Fur Pack and Katie the Luna,” Dolf said within me as I walked through the corridors the very next morning after planning how to beat my family in their selfish games, with the smart-ass woman that the goddess decided to bless me with.My wolf’s words were meant to be a reminder, even though he knew I didn’t forget that I had made up my mind to stand against my family for the first time in my life.I would become Alpha, and the plan to achieve t

Princess Katie Anne~~Davien stared back at me like I had lost my mind, but soon, realization began to glint in his eyes. He went from angry to conflicted, and that broke my heart because I could tell that his family had once again gotten to him.“Oh,” he muttered, his shoulders falling.I stretched my hands to him, and he took them, joining me on the bed. I opened my mind to Dolf, asking him to create a mental link between Davien and me, even though a part of me wanted to keep the realization I had after Cole left to myself so I could protect my mate.“No, we have to tell him,” Zuri encouraged me.Zoe did the same when she said, “Yes. If we have been dancing to their tunes, it’s high time we changed the tune to ours and made them dance. We can’t do that without Davien.”I could feel Dolf agreeing with my wolves as he created the link between Davien and me. I then smiled at my mate, cupping his face as I sent words through the link: “He was glad we hadn’t marked each other. If only

DAVIEN~~A waste of time. That’s what I would call this meeting with my dad. For goddess’ sake, we have been here for what? Almost an hour, yet all he has done is look down on me and try to intimidate me. He was beating around the bush.Even a blind man could see that.I could feel regret in my bones because staying with Katie, who needed me, would have been a better and more efficient way to spend the hour than sitting here listening to my dad.“That’s it. I am leaving,” I blurted, cutting my dad’s statement short. He grumbled, “But I am not done. Sit down.”“Done what exactly?” I seethed, seeing shock flash through his eyes for the millionth time. I would be stupid not to realize that he suspected I had a wolf now. “Reminding me that I am your unloved son isn’t doing it for me. If you don’t want me here or need my help, just let me know, and I will be out of your hair.”Damn! I just needed him to let me in on the plan. I needed something tangible to tell those who had trusted me…

Princess Katie Anne~~“Why won’t anyone answer their damn phones?” I gritted, resisting the urge to throw my cellphone against the wall. Before I left home, we agreed that my family members would be accessible and that they would call me at least once every day, but even though this was my second morning in Black Fur, that agreement seemed to mean nothing.“There’s no special occasion. No ceremony or ritual that could have kept them busy since yesterday. I am beginning to worry,” Zuri said to me.However, I was too angry to be worried. I felt like my mom was screwing me because she already knew I would discover the truths she had tried hard to hide from me during my stay in Black Fur. Hell, I am certain she knew why I was trying to reach her.“Are they ignoring the calls intentionally?” Zoe queried, her confusion mixing with Zuri’s. “That’s far-fetched, Katie. We might have to be patient and—”A sharp knock on the door disrupted Zoe’s statement.I made the mistake of assuming that t
