I came to with a terrible headache and filled with panic. Bella had gone quiet, almost as if she weren’t there at all.

‘Bells?’, I reached out to her.

Nothing. Not even a stirring.

I tried to communicate through linking.

What had whoever grabbed me given me?

I tried to clear the fog from my brain when I registered footsteps coming.

I closed my eyes, still trying to gather my thoughts, but I didn’t want to hint to whoever was coming that I was awake.
