Axel’s skin crawled with discomfort as he regretted allowing her to come so close.

Every inch of him seemed to react, a collection of bumps surfacing.

Her proximity was unnerving, and he couldn’t escape the sensation of being too exposed. Her fingers, delicately cleaning away the dried blood, only intensified the unease.

Leaning to the side, he silently observed her, realizing it had been a while since someone had come so close, touching him in such an intimate manner.

It felt strange.

Chapter 91“I believe you,” Axel replied in a single word, gripping her palm ever tighter. The realization hit him-this explained why she was so jumpy. He had noticed it himself. Whenever he encountered her-or walked across the street from her, there seemed to be someone trailing after her. She wasn’t being frightened or jumpy for nothing. And she wasn’t making it up: neither was she crazy. She clearly had a stalker.“What time do you go to work?” he asked. She met his eyes, surprise evident in hers, clearly taken aback by the sudden question.“What time do you go to work?” he asked. She met his eyes, surprise evident in hers, clearly taken aback by the sudden question.“By eight am most days, she replied as they stopped at the front entrance of the building.“Why?” she asked him. They went into the elevator, still holding arms.“Nothing,” he replied. Xavier taking his car tonight and him having to take this route happened to be a stroke of luck. He thought to himself, he had a fe

Nathan studied Jasmine intently, her clear eyes reflecting pure adoration as she gazed up at him. A pang of guilt gnawed at him, overshadowing his demeanor."Jasmine," he called out to her, breaking the moment. Suddenly, he posed a question that cut through the air with an unexpected weight."Do you still have those nightmares?”The Inquiry lingered, causing her to pause, her brows furrowing in "No," she replied, shaking her head. “No memory of your family either?" He probed. Again, she shook her head, and Nathan sighed, looking away. Deciding not to press further at that moment. She held the key to the elusive memories from that night eight years ago, that tragic night. If only she could recall the events, he might finally uncover the truth behind the deaths of his wife andchild. Frustration simmered within him, the inability to make progress in recent weeks weighing heavily on his shoulders made him feel a senseof weariness."Is something wrong?" Jasmine's voice cut through hi

“Where have you been?” Eva asked, staring at the man in front of her. Nathan chuckled lightly. After weeks of absence, Nathan had suddenly returned, immediately finding his way to the hospital.“I had to go clear my head,” he answered. A couple of days ago was the death anniversary of his mate and pup. Needing space and answers, he had left. Eva looked at him thoughtfully. He was smiling, but his eyes looked rather sad.“I’m sorry I vanished completely; a lot was going on,” he admitted with a sigh. “Have you been okay?” Eva asked. Nathan only stared at her for a while, giving her a sad smile. The past few weeks had been quite hectic for him. He gave a small shrug. Eva studied the man in front of her silently; it was clear he was hiding and keeping things to himself. He looked like he hadn’t had a decent sleep in a long while. But she decided not to pry, filling him instead with details of things that had happened during his absence.“I’m sorry, Eva. I tried to find Dr. Gomez,

She had Alzheimer’s,” the man admitted his words accompanied with a heavy sigh. The weight of the words settled over Xavier, and he felt a mixture of relief and sorrow. Naomi had died giving to the natural course of her illness; there was no sinister undercurrent to her passing.“As it progressed, we tried to manage it, but it got even worse,” the man continued, a pause accentuating the gravity of the situation.“Is there an issue?” he inquired, his gaze scrutinizing and searching Xavier.“I met her some days ago, she said something that left me puzzled.” Xavier stated leaving out some details. The man sighed as he delved into the complexities of Naomi’s condition. “Knowing her, with how her health was, I don’t think you should take anything she said seriously,” he admitted, a small chuckle escaping him.“She was such a bright and loving person, but as she aged, she tended to have difficulties continuing with conversations and mixed up details,”As he spoke, the man’s eyes held a poi

TIME SKIP “Naomi’s dead,” the voice on the other end solemnly pronounced, catching Xavier off guard with the sudden and unwelcome news. The weight of the revelation lingered heavily in the air.“Is there something I can help you with?” the man inquired, sensing Xavier hesitancy from the other end.Xavier , still processing the shock, replied curtly,“No.”“Accept my condolences,” he offered, his words carrying a note of surprise that resonated through the phone.“This is just really shocking,” Xavier admitted with a heavy sigh, the unexpected news settling into the fabric of his thoughts. As the exchange continued, a somber atmosphere enveloped the conversation until, eventually, the man at the other end concluded the call. Xavier slowly lowered the phone from his ear.Restlessness gripped him, compelling an immediate journey homeward. As a slight drizzle began to grace the surroundings, he navigated through the rain–soaked streets, his mind racing with questions. Bella would be

Bella walked down the stairs slowly. Xavier was seated in the car waiting for her impatiently. She trudged slowly getting to the car. It was almost time for the meeting. After her previous nights refusal and today’s attempt, Xavier was bent on attending with her.Her constant refusal was futile. She had gotten ready slowly. She was already dreading the event. The choice of the various packs to remain completely independent and isolated ruling in their own territory had made it easy for her to seamlessly blend into a new one and she had had no issues for years. But now suddenly, they decided to meet!Much later, she finally reached the car. She looked different, almost unrecognizable. A blonde wig adorned her head, accompanied by heavy makeup–none of which was unusual for her. However, what caught Xavier’s attention was the sunglasses she wore.“What’s that for?” he asked.“The glasses?” she questioned, lightly touching them.“Yes,” he replied.“I would rather wear this for tonight
