Chasing My Ex-Wife & My Quintuplets

 Chapter 1

Gina’s POV

I finished preparing different special meals for my birthday and I overheard the maids gossiping, “Why is Madam Gina wasting her time again in preparing so many kinds of food when she knows  Sir Liam will never celebrate her birthday with her.”

“That serves her right, I heard she seduced Sir Liam and manipulated his grandfather in making sure she became Liam’s wife.”

“She was desperate because of his wealth now see where it has landed her, a loveless marriage.”

“Are you ready to lose your jobs?” The oldest maid who is like a mother to me interfered with their gossip and they replied saying, “No, Mrs. Sarah.”

“How dare you badmouth Madam Gina on her birthday? Are you being paid to gossip around? I will make sure some fees get deducted from your salary this month, get lost.”

“We are sorry Mrs. Sarah.”

“Sorry for yourself.”

I decided to stop listening and I just couldn’t handle my tears anymore, I fell to the ground crying out my eyes, where did I ever go wrong? They are right in a way that Liam will never love me but I am trying my best, I promised his grandpa I would take good care of Liam and love him with all my heart.

I never knew what led to the coldness of Liam all of a sudden, I just can’t explain what went wrong. Did I offend him or what?  Whenever I try to have a conversation with him he always tells me he is too tired to talk or busy, he hardly lives in the same house as me and doesn’t even remember to wish me a happy birthday on my special day.

“Madam Gina, stop doing this to yourself, ignore what the maids said, I will punish them after your big day today.” Mrs Sarah said trying to help me up on my feet and wipe off my tears. She is the only person who is true and sincere to me, the only one who keeps me company and she advised me to open up to Grandpa maybe he can talk to my husband on my behalf but I felt it was not necessary because I hate to trouble Grandpa.

I lost my parents and he is the only person who took me in and took good care of me like I was his grandchild, he told me how my parents were good to him and I also made him a promise I would make his grandson Liam happy and be the best wife even if we didn’t have a courtship and just went ahead to marry.

I never forced Liam to marry me, he told me he wanted me as his wife and I was happy because I felt he had feelings for me just the way I do but after the marriage, he became my worst nightmare.

“Please stop crying.” Mrs Sarah interrupted my thinking for the second time.

“I will, today is my birthday I should not be crying,” I said to her and gave a false smile on my lips.

I heard the doorbell and she said to me, “I will get that.”

“Hello, Grandpa.”

“Happy birthday my beautiful Gina, I am so sorry I couldn’t make it to the house, hope you received my gifts?” He asked in excitement.

“Yes I did Grandpa, you are the best.”

“Where is my silly grandson, I hope he was the first person to gift you today?”

I really didn’t want to be the reason Grandpa would scold Liam so I had to cover up as usual.

“Yes he did, he even sang for me this morning before leaving and I am sure he is going to take me out on a date tonight to celebrate it.”

“That’s wonderful to hear, I need to go now, take care of yourself and let me know if you need anything.”

“I will Grandpa, bye for now.” I ended the call and I didn’t know the time I ended up crying.

“Madam Gina, will you keep on lying to protect him?”

“He is still my husband, I know one day he will have time for me, I understand him so well.”

“You don’t need to over-stress yourself, I will set the candles for your cake, you need to be happy.”

“Thank you so  much, Mrs Sarah, I am lucky to have you around.” I hugged her.

“Anytime Madam Gina, I am always here for you.”

A few more minutes later, the cake was all set and Mrs Sarah arranged the candles on it as planned. I made sure everything was in its rightful places and I really wished the next doorbell I would hear would be my husband, truly the doorbell rang and I rushed to get it telling Mrs Sarah to remain at the dining.

I opened the door with so much excitement to welcome my husband home but my wish didn’t come true, I saw a lady with a short red hairdressing in luxury, I had never seen her before, who could she be? About to ask who she was, she pushed me off and entered the house.

“Who are you, Miss? You can’t barge into someone's home.” I said trying to keep up with her pace and she ended up at the dining and started laughing, “Oh poor Gina, are you really planning a huge celebration for your birthday?”

“Who are you? how come you know my name and also how did you know today is my birthday?” I became curious.

“Well I came to tell you your time in my man’s home is up, so today will be the last day you will be hosting a celebration like this.”

“What do you mean? This is my husband's home, you must be mistaken.”

“Soon he will be your ex-husband, where do you think he has been all those times he left you at home lonely? He has been with me, do you know why? He loves me so much and I got a birthday present for you, I am having his baby.”
