RUBY

It was the reason I avoided discussing a matter over the phone. Without the comfort of touch or a hug, misunderstandings grew easier, and words alone felt risky and limiting. The absence of in-person support left nerves unsettled, making me anxious about how our conversation would unfold.

However, I then realized I had also contributed to this misunderstanding. I deliberately left Wyatt out, telling myself he might be too busy at work, even though I knew he had access to all the information. I felt a mix of guilt and apprehension, wondering why I had chosen not to tell him, especially when I knew he would learn about it with or without me.

"No. It's not like that." I defended myself from his accusation. "I was dying to tell you about this matter and share my feelings with you. But it would only steal your focus from the important thing."

"You're important." Wyatt cut me off, clarifying my words, which resulted in a smile forming on my lips.

RUBYI was scrolling through my screen, only to see numerous requests to follow my account. I purposely locked it since I wanted to keep my life private. But now... Why were there suddenly many flooded requests from people I didn't even know?"What requests?"Brian's question entered my ears. However, I couldn't tear my focus from the screen as new requests continued to come in. What was this?"To follow my account. I'm getting many requests, and they keep growing by seconds." I explained."Your social media?"I nodded. "Not the store, but my own account." I made it clear. Since the video went viral, our store's social media account has been flooded with new followers. However, this was my private account. How?"Can I see?"I looked up and hesitated for a second. But then, I handed my phone to Brian since I couldn't get an answer for it."Can I look through your profile?" He asked after taking my phone. Only after I gave my approval did he start scrolling over my screen. I didn't know

WYATTI threw my body a bit hard to sofa once I arrived room. Today was loaded with meetings, lunch, meeting again, then one more through zoom. After this, there was an event I had to attend. It was full and exhausting. But who was I going to complain? It's my responsibility as part of Logan and the leader of our business.A heavy sigh escaped my lips as I leaned my back on sofa and found the comfort. Only if Ruby and Austin were here. It might not erase the tiredness entirely. But at least, I could use the warmt to lift up my mood."I miss you, Uncle."I instantly smiled after hearing son's message. We couldn't talk through call because of time difference, so I had to accept with only voice notes. Nevertheless, it was better than text or nothing."Hm, that must be delicious. Have a sweet fun with Mommy. I miss you, too."I recorded those lines and sent it to Ruby. Then I returned to previous position while staring at the ceiling. Ruby and Austin's faces were there, looking back at hi

RUBY"I'm nearby, so I thought to stop by."I blinked at his reply, and it snapped my mind from wandering. "Then welcome to our store. It's good to see a loyal customer return here." I smiled softly as I meant my words. I was happy to see him again, despite the awkwardness also being present.Brian returned the smile in kind. However, I noticed his lips twitch stiffly, and he refused to look at me longer."Welcome back, Brian. What can I help you with?" Judy greeted him with a bright smile as always."I want to buy treats for my staff, so I will take all the cookie flavors.""Oh, like the last time?" Judy asked, starting to prepare his order."Yes. Three of each flavor, please.""Sure."I walked closer, not to interrupt them, but... I didn't know. Perhaps for a chat or reconciliation. Surely, if only Brian were good with the idea."Can I cheer your staff, too?" This came out of nowhere. I meant, I didn't think of it before. He turned around, and we exchanged gazes for two seconds befo

RUBY"You've never done that." It was Helen's reaction during our call session and I sent the link video. She sounded not only angry, but also disbelief at the accusation. "I know you, and this is out of your virtue." She continued.A smile crept into my lips hearing that. It was touching my heart to know someone believe in me. "Thanks for your trust, Helen.""Of course. I would have been the first to beat you if you ever done such a thing." She responded with the same spirit, causing doubt to begin forming inside me. Was she really on my side?"Wow. That's the kind of you." I grumbled."Which one would you choose? Beaten by me or police?""Hey!" I protested right away. None of those choice were appealing, and I wasn't in the place to face it, either.Helen laughed, and I huffed in annoyance. The caall with my best friend should have eased my mind, not the other way around."What is your plan?" She asked after a moment of joke. This time, I let out a heavy sigh. I honestly yet to know

  • Chasing My Ex-wife Back    Chapter 72 - Day Two - A Video

RUBYDay two without Wyatt seemed normal. Aside from the moldy cake incident the day before, today proceeded smoothly. I even felt at ease leaving the store for lunch with my son."What’s the time in Uncle Wyatt, Mom?" Austin asked during our lunch. Today was spaghetti and meatballs.I looked at my watch, then replied, "Around five." The country where Wyatt was staying was five hours ahead of us. Because of that, there was no call before sleep, because it was already late in Wyatt's place, and when morning came, it was almost midday there. Thus, Austin had to contain himself with only voice notes."Then, it’s time to go home."I smiled while reaching my hand out to remove the sauce near his lips. "Yes. Uncle Wyatt must be tired from work.""Hm." He was munching on his food. "Can I leave a voice note, Mom?""What are you going to say?"As much as I loved seeing them develop their bond, I asked my son not to call Wyatt because of the time differences. Fortunately, he listened to me."I
