[Dad, can I call you? Maybe, a video call?]

I couldn't help but to feel nervous the next morning. It was a message for Nicolas, which I sent after breakfast.

[Yes, darling.]

And the reply that came five minutes later worsened it. I felt suffocated already by my nervousness. The first step was always nerve wracking.

"Give it to me. I will be the one calling him." Wyatt said from the floor, extending his hand in my direction and offering help.

It was silly, wasn't it? To be nervous to call my own father.

But, yeah, it happened. Therefore, I took the help wholeheartedly.

"I thought I would see Ruby's face first." Nicolas' voice errupted into the air the moment the call was connected. It was a video call and Wyatt was the one speaking to him.

"She's with me, but too nervous to call you."

I quickly grabbed a pillow and threw it to Wyatt. I didn't need him to be so honest. It was embarassing.
